For a place called Big Scoop, we got pretty small scoops of ice cream. When we checked out at the counter, Kate helped us out again. She was very encouraging and was so excited to have us in town for the tulip festival. I hope Kate gets a raise or goes far in life! Hal's always had a larger burger patty, and a larger than normal high quality burger bun, this has changed, the entire Deluxe Cheeseburger has shrunk, the taste is much saltier, the buns are smaller and cheaper, and the burger patty is smaller as well, and of course prices have gone up, which I can't knock them for. Now there is nothing special or unique about Hal's, I can get the same burger, if not better, a mile away from my home in Mount Vernon, and for $2 cheaper. Hal's still produces a good burger, with friendly service, but I will no longer make Hal's Drive In a regular stop to look forward to when I am in Sedro Woolley. Thanks Hal's for 40 years of far above average burgers, all things must come to an end eventually.
