    #5 with onion rings.
    Emily K.

We were looking for a quick lunch on our way to the beach. I ordered the #5 because I was hungry. It was a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and a fountain soda. They work fast here! I had my meal in under five minutes. The only negative thing was that believe it or not there was too much bacon on this burger. It threw off the balance of the sandwich. If you need a quick meal while traveling I would recommend this place for their speed and the decent quality.

We stopped here for the first time many years ago and we were immediately impressed. We go back now every trip up north and whether it was drive through or dine in the staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and my children had their very first taste of soda in their lives at this very store in a root beer float. A&W has always had the best root beer in my opinion and my kids love the special treat of enjoying some on our stops here. If you're in the area don't hesitate to dine here, you'll be happy you did!

Always a great place to eat. Their drive through is super fast, and their diner area is always clean. They have the best cheese curds!

The Papa Burgers are so delicious and fresh tasting. Awesome cheese curds. The root beer floats are the best around too.

It's nice to have this place so close to a small town. Really nice owners and pretty yummy ice cream. Love the fried cheese curds too!

Don't waste your time. I got a burger and fries and I think they were sitting there for awhile. Just not good at all!

We wanted a quick snack while driving from the UP to Green Bay and came upon The Dairy Barn. As we…read moredrove in, we thought the place was inside of the nearby gas station, but we quickly found that it was a separate building with quite a number of cars and customers surrounding it. There was a nearby setup of picnic tables and all seats were taken, with people eating burgers, custard, and other treats. To order, there's a choice of either a drive through, or you can queue up at one of the windows in front. We just wanted a small snack and ordered two items. Service is quite quick; everything only took a couple of minutes to come out. Extra Small Pistachio Frozen Custard ($2) - This was the weekly special and we got the very last dregs in the frozen custard machine. We saw the employee using a spatula on the top of the machine to push through the rest of the custard. As such, we're not sure if the custard was the freshest and best churned or not. The sweetness of the custard, mint green in color, first comes through, followed by a bit of artificial pistachio flavoring. The strange thing is that we had pistachio frozen custard from another place the previous day and this tasted exactly the same. I wonder if everyone just uses the same commercial pistachio custard base and churns it differently? This particular one is quite smooth and creamy, but also a bit on the softer side and less dense than other frozen custard I've had. I can't complain when this is only $2 though. (4/5) Fried Cheese Curds ($4) - I read about the curds here on social media and I have to agree that these are quite good. The batter on the exterior is pretty thick and fried to a fantastic crisp. The interior is stretchy, milky, squeaky as they stick to the teeth and have a more firm chew. The exterior batter has quite a bit of salt added after it comes out of the fryer, making this a treat that almost begs for custard or some other sweet beverage/treat on the side. (4/5) I'm not sure there is anything that they actually make in house, but hey, the prices are so cheap and they execute everything well enough that it makes me not care. I wouldn't make The Dairy Barn a destination for food or anything, but it's a solid place to visit while you're on the road. Note that they change the special custard flavor every week starting on Wednesday until they run out, so if you insist on the special flavor don't wait until Tuesday! Bathrooms - One single unisex room located on the right side of the exterior of the building. Overall rating of the food this visit: 4/5

Looking like a neighborhood bar, albeit one with a Star Wars theme (if you are into that sort of thing), this place came highly recommended. I got there just before it got packed. I was promptly greeted, grabbed a seat at the bar and soon had a drink in front of me (full bar). Several things looked good both on the menu and in the kitchen (which is open for viewing). I ordered a cheesesteak (when in Rome) and an order of cheese curds. Both came well prepared and hot. The curds were great. Definitely enough in an order for two. The sandwich was packed and tasted fantastic. Leaving, I definitely was full. Would I go back? Definitely! I've already told some friends and the experience and have encouraged them to check it out.

The inside almost feels like a house that was renovated into a restaurant in the coolest way possible with a very open layout, stripped-down feel, and a super unique kitchen setup literally right behind the bar. If you're a Star Wars fan, this place is a must. The theme throughout the restaurant was awesome and definitely added to the experience for us since we're huge Star Wars people. The staff overall was really friendly and welcoming too. Special shoutout to the hostess Lea super friendly... wink wink if you know, you know. Our server was chipper and sweet the whole time. She did accidentally get our drinks wrong and forgot the cheese on my burger, but honestly it wasn't a huge deal because she was so nice about everything. The burger itself was decent but a little dry. I did appreciate the extra pickles though because that's exactly how I like it. Now let's talk about the real reason to go here- drumroll... Cheese Whiz cheesesteak. Absolutely incredible. Honestly one of the best cheesesteaks I've had in a long time and 100% worth the drive alone. The cheese curds were also really good and definitely worth ordering for the table. And when I mean drive I mean drive, just a few hours south from Chicago aka Bear land, GO BEARS Overall, not every single item blew us away, but the atmosphere, Star Wars theme, friendly staff, and THAT cheesesteak made this place memorable. We'd absolutely come back just for the Cheese Whiz sandwich.
