This A&W is the closest one to my home. It's located inside the Petro-Canada's Neighbours store on the southwest corner of Kennedy Road and Highway 7. Last Thursday, I fasted before getting some bloodwork done. Afterwards, I needed to grab some breakfast. Before the pandemic, I would show up at the lab when it first opened at 9 am. These days, I need to get an appointment and mine was at 10:30 am. I tend to hit McDonald's afterwards, but it was too late to get my beloved sausage and egg McGriddle. Instead, I paid this A&W a visit to satisfy my hunger pangs. It's odd that I have never been here before. I love A&W for sentimental reasons. There was one within walking distance from my apartment in Winnipeg. I'd often get a sausage and egger sandwich after a midnight shift, and eat that for dinner. I sat in the parking lot of my doctor's office, which also has the lab. I pulled out my phone and used the A&W app to place my order. It was my first time using it. I ordered the following items: - Classic bacon and eggs, which comes with toast - Double cheese, double bacon papa burger I ordered breakfast and lunch together. Why not? What's weird with the app is that it tracks how far away you are from the restaurant. When you are five minutes away, your order gets placed. I find that it should have been ten minutes away from the restaurant or some adjustment depending on the traffic flow. At this hour, there weren't too many folks out and about. I also have a lead foot. I arrived at the drive through in roughly three minutes. I let the woman know that I had an order. It was not a surprise that my order was not ready. She asked that I park in front of Neighbours and she'd bring me my food. Cool! My food didn't take long to prepare. She came carrying a plastic bag with my food. I thanked her and drove home. I immediately had the classic bacon and eggs. I got brown toast and my two eggs over-medium. The breakfast at A&W is pretty decent. The toast was lightly buttered and came with strawberry jam. The triangles were toasted perfectly. The fried eggs were just the way that I like them. The bacon was crispy and so good. For lunch, I had the double cheese, double bacon papa burger. It's here for a limited time. I also craved bacon more than usual that day. I got the lettuce wrap version. First, it's messy cutting the carbs. The lettuce was iceberg, so it disintegrates quickly with each bite. I'd rather have romaine or that curly green lettuce that holds up better. Second, iceberg lettuce is bland! The burger patties were tasty. I enjoyed the bacon and cheese with the tomatoes and whatever else was there. Next time, I'll give the gluten-free bun a try. I enjoy customizing my food on mobile apps. It's fun. I'm sure that it's phase for me. It brings me great joy these days. I'd come back here again. I didn't get a root beer. I should have! (97)

I have had bad gas station experiences for coffee so I was optimistically hoping this was better. I found I was ignored for 10min???? It was a 3 person team racing to fill drive thru orders. I eventually had to just interrupt them and say hello??? Theres no reinforcement on the per person capacity, where their signage says 2 delivery/takeout. Cream is poured in, no measurement, so expect some differences order to order.

A&W is definitely making a strong comeback recently and this location is a small footprint dine in/ drive through for the busy get goers. They offer the full lineup of foods from your tried and true root beer to the Beyond Meat burger that is outselling many of the markets "real beef" burgers. I truly like the fact that there is a small dining area to kick back to relax while enjoying or grab and go through the drive through. The staff here is very friendly and food is definitely a-ok!

    It tasted ok but overpriced

Please please please don't try the beyond meat sausage breakfast sandwich, it will ruin your day for sure. The beyond meat sausage was very dry and it had a taste of veggie smell. It didn't taste like sausage at all !! even the English muffin was over toasted. I couldn't force myself to eat one more bite because of the dryness of the fake sausage and the English muffins. We also ordered the beyond meat burger without cheese, the burger was much better than the beyond best sausage breakfast sandwich. At least the burger is not too dry but the beyond meat patty still didn't taste like meat to me. Both of the breakfast sandwich and burger are overpriced. The breakfast sandwich itself is $6 and the beyond meat burger itself is $7. I would rather go to hero burger or Harvey for a better quality of burger and price.

This is the closest A&W to us and it is located inside a Petro Canada Gas Station.  Inside there's a small dining area where people can order and eat there. In addition, you will also have the convenience store that a regular gas station has including drinks, snacks etc.  We went on Free Root Beer day during the weekend, there weren't too many people, the staff was nice and food was served hot which was made to order. I can tell their quality of food is a little better and on the pricier side.  As a bonus we saw Rooty, probably doing a promotion for the Free Root Beer outside and the staff were nice and let us take a picture with him

I wanted a late night snack so I stopped by A&W ordered two habanero chicken combo the drive thru lady was friendly smiling made sure I had everything I needed great customer service my entire order was fresh and tasted delicious, I highly recommend this A&W location. Btw while waiting on my order at drive thru I noticed they will be doing a bake sale on August 10th 2019 from 8am-12pm $5/Donation for MS Canada.

[LOCATION] - 4/5 Located at the Petro Canada with Neighbours Coffee on Highway 7 and Kennedy. There was a lot of traffic during rush hour, but it was still pretty easy to pull into their parking lot. [SERVICE] - 5/5 Staff was friendly, efficient, and served my order within a minute or two. [DÉCOR] - 4/5 Seating area was dimly lit (very romantic), clean, and had a lot of empty tables. [FOOD QUALITY] - 5/5 Food met my standards. [ORDER] - Buddy Burger without Cheese - $1.95: came with a soft bun, juicy beef patty, and tangy mayonnaise sauce with onions. [OVERALL] - 4/5 A great place to grab a snack on-the-go.

Hubby and I come here from time to time when we're in the mood for a fast food breakfast. We appreciate the idea that A & W uses eggs from hens fed using no animal byproducts, beef raised without steroids or hormones, and pork and chicken raised without the use of antibiotics. When ordering the classic breakfast, we ask for whole wheat bread and request that they not pre-butter the toast. My hubby usually goes online to access coupons from the A & W website. The restaurant is located in the Petro Canada gas station. This particular location has a patio and is open 24 hours. (52/100)

As a vegetarian, rarely do I ever give fast food places a 5/5, but this one is a gem. Located at the Petro Canada and Neighbours Coffee, it can be easily overlooked but is definitely a better sit-down and comfort location compared to the Markville Mall food court. I came in specifically to try out the Beyond Burger that launched today in all A&W locations - it's a vegan burger that tastes 100% like real meat. For vegetarians, A&W definitely has a larger selection. Before I talk about the Beyond Burger, the service here is definitely quicker and the kitchen isn't covered with a wall like most locations so you can see how your burgers are made. The Beyond Burger is AMAZING - words cannot justify it. Normally I only eat one burger but this time I ate two and a half. I'm a big fan of veggie burgers, especially those that taste like, well, vegetables. But veggie burgers that taste like meat? No thanks, I'll pass. At least, that's what I used to say. This burger is something totally different - a paradise for vegetarians and a usual for meat eaters. My boyfriend who was a meat eater couldn't tell the difference and the A&W manager there told me they did a blind taste tests a few weeks ago and the difference was unrecognizable. This is a MUST-TRY for everyone. Seriously, everyone. From the bottom of my heart, EVERYONE should try this regardless of their diet. Huge kudos for A&W for bringing the Beyond Burger to Canada!

As soon as I was ready to order, I was pleasantly greeted by Mohammed who showed a high degree of professionalism & was so well spoken. I ordered the 4 piece chicken dinner which comes with one side & a biscuit. I asked him on a side recommendation & he recommended Cajun fries, onion rings or coleslaw. I really like that I could pick any side & there was no up charge for certain ones. I chose the coleslaw & added a order of the fries. I was told that it would take 15 minutes & as I waited, I watched him work like a pro. He would ask the kitchen how much longer for certain food/orders then would update the individual. My order was ready around the time he said it would be. When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised at the size of each thigh & drumstick (they only serve dark meat). The coleslaw is larger than a typical side at other fried chicken places & there is a good amount of fries. The chicken was tasty! Skin was crunchy and the meat juicy. I did get it spicy but it's still on the mild side for me. The fries was cooked to perfection... crispy and full of Cajun flavor. I really liked the biscuit too. Coleslaw was good but top sweet for my liking. This place has easily hit my list of top fried chicken places!!! Highly recommend.

Be careful if you have kids with allergies because there's probably peanut dust all over the place. The burgers were a good size. The regulars have two patties while the little ones have just one beef patty. The fries were hot and fresh. We got some of the Cajun spice on the side so we were able to try it with and without. I prefer it without the Cajun spice. The poutine was good, although it could use a bit more cheese and gravy. We were gonna get a shake after we ate but we were so stuffed. We'll have to go back and try all the crazy shakes that they have. I ordered the burger "all the way," which is ketchup, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms, and I got some jalapenos on the side. But you can choose your own toppings. Service was fast and lots of parking in the plaza. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

It took two people fifteen minutes to make it. - Communication to the customer on how long it would take for my order to be ready wasn't stellar. On Wednesday night, after driving home from Mississauga, I felt like a milkshake. Where should I get one? I remembered that the Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shake location in Scarborough that I had visited months ago offered milkshakes. I also remembered this Boardwalk location in Markham. It used to be South St. Burger. Markham used to have two locations. It now has zero, which is a downer. I came here at nearly 9 pm. There were lots of parking spots. I pulled into one and entered the store. The Boardwalk is a combo store with Lava Grill. There is one entrance for both eateries. I walked in. There was a couple enjoying a meal. I was the only person at the order area, which is shared between the two eateries. It took a while for the man at Boardwalk to come over. He was making burgers. I ordered these items: - Strawberry shake without whipped cream - Dubai chocolate brownie I paid with a credit card. Done. Communication is an issue here. This man continued making burgers and fries. He didn't let me know how long it would take to make my order. I wasn't in a rush, but I didn't know that it would take fifteen minutes for two folks to try and make my milkshake. I did like that the press for the burgers automatically came down on the patties and had a timer. I also watched fries go into hot oil and the basket automatically come up once the fries were done. It was also on a timer. I noticed that burger man got Lava guy to make my shake. They both went into the back. Burger man came back to assemble the burgers. Lava guy was still in the back. My guess was that there was some issue making my shake. Again, I got no communication until Lava guy came out to look at my order and told me it would be two minutes. Um, sure. I didn't believe it. I was right. I decided to sit down. Burger guy had finished making the burgers. He went outside. He came back in. His first communication to me was two fingers up in the area. Two minutes or victory?! Five minutes later, I saw a shake come out from the back. Lava guy was holding it. Lava guy took a box with a brownie and packed it in a paper bag. I got a napkin, a fork, and a spoon. He handed me a pretty strawberry shake and my paper bag. I thanked both guys, more relieved than anything, and left. I got into my car and drove home. Despite the wait and the lack of decent communication, the two items that I had were excellent. The strawberry milkshake was yummy. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was creamy and enjoyable. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie yesterday. It was so good. I loved the crispy bits with pistachio cream and a delectable, moist brownie layer. Yum! I'm thinking that ordering online and coming here to pick up my order would be best. This place seems to take its time because it seems to be on its own time. Boardwalk has happy hour deals at night. I may give it a try next time. Here's hoping that communication is better. (190)
