After working out at the gym, I had realized I had nothing at home to eat, was definitely not wanting to make something and just wanted a quick post workout bite. I recently have tried to get into more organic foods (note the key word here is TRY given the world of places to eat at from Yelp) and came across A&W in the food court. I honestly never batted an eye at A&W before, as to me its just another "fast food" joint akin to McDonalds, Harveys, Wendys, Burger King....well you get the drift. What caught my attention though was their signage that said that they use meat raised without the use of hormones and steroids which is quite a pleasant surprise for a fast food type restaurant. I decided to buy a burger combo and was pleasantly greeted by the cashier. My food came out quick and hot, and was actually quite pleasant as it tasted like it was freshly made. Unlike McDonalds burgers, where the lettuce and other condiments are slapped all over the sandwich, the lettuce was a nice piece and the burger was actually well put together. The burger tasted quite juicy and tasty (by fast food restaurants standards), and to top it off they advertise the meat used is without the use of hormones and steroids. Though after the meal, and doing a bit more research and to be perfectly clear - A&W meat is NOT certified organic. To be certified true organic, the food fed to the animal has to be organic and the animal also has to be raised without hormones or steroids. So A&W technically occupies a bit of a "grey area" - But having said all that, I wouldnt hesitate to go to A&W if I had a fast food burger craving knowing that this may be the next best thing besides true organic certification.

Onion rings at A&W are the best as they are freshly made. Was craving onion rings lol and it was satisfying. The batter was crispy and not oily. Even though it cost as much as a burger this is a once in a while delicious snacky snack. :)

Ever since hearing about the Beyond Meat Burger being offered at A&W, I had wanted to try it. (Aroma Espresso Bar serves a Power Burger using the same vegan pea-protein-beet patty.) I hadn't ordered anything from any A&W in a while and their menu selection is actually quite good. I wonder how their Beyond Meat Burger sales are doing actually since it's been added to their menu for at least several months now. I only ordered the Beyond Meat Burger to try (no fries for me). (The Beyond Meat patty is made from plants, topped with lettuce, red onion, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise, served on a freshly toasted sesame seed bun.) The patty was quite good and the texture was so akin to actual beef. The inventors did a great job to make it look and taste like real meat. I felt good eating it. The only thing was that the burger itself didn't contain a lot of ketchup or sauce with it, so it was a tad dry. I guess I have to add in those condiments myself. Either way, I really enjoyed this vegan (more veggies) choice while at the food court in a typical shopping mall. It's a good alternative if you want something filling but not greasy or meaty (and don't want to order just a boring lettuce salad). ;P

Woody Wood Burger had really good reviews on Google and not so great on Yelp. So I wanted to try it…read moreand see for myself. I visited the Richmond Hill location, they also have a location in Newmarket. Restaurant is located in a plaza with lots of parking. Restaurant is clean and modern with 6-7 tables not a huge restaurant. They specialize in wood fire flamed burgers. They also have sandwich options. Service was great, we were greeted as we came in. You pay at the front counter and pick up your food and the front. Some of the item comes with fries and a drink and other items are burger only. They were great with substitutions. I changed the fries to onion rings and changed pop to water. No issues they were super flexible and I don't think they charged me for the changes. I ordered the mushrooms burger. It was so flavourful. Juicy beef patty with the perfect charred edges. My boyfriend got the Louisiana burger it was the perfect amount of spicy and a piece of deep fried cheese was so good. The burgers were huge I had to give the rest to my boyfriend. The onion rings were amazing. I would definitely come back again!!!!

This burger was incredible! I got the woody wood burger (dressed with fried onions, mushrooms and their sauce) with curly fries and it was one of the best meals I've had in ages. The burger was juicy and had a crust..! The curly fries were crispy like they should be...next time I'll try the fresh cut kind. You smell the wood burning right when you walk in. It's a good sized place with plenty of room to sit. I came right before a lunch rush so I'm lucky that my order only took about 10 minutes to prepare. When it tastes this fresh, I can wait! I can't wait to come back and try a different burger, and it will be soon!

Maybe I goofed and made a mistake ordering the Juicy Lucy. It sounded the most interesting and I…read morewas expecting to be blown away or for it to look like some of the cheeseburger photos posted online. It looked nothing like the cheeseburger from Burger Factory that's posted online. The patty was not even thick at all! I received a thin patty which contained cheese but I had to get to the center of the burger to get a bit of cheese oozing out. The rest of the patty was essentially a Mc D caliber patty. If you look at the pic I posted, the meat to bun ratio was also totally off. The bun was bigger than the meat so I had bites where I was literally just eating thick bread and veggies. The cheeseburger photos show big chunky meat patties so I'm wondering if I got an employee who didn't really know what he was doing? I opted for a combo and got mac n' cheese bites as my side. These were exceptionally disappointing. I'm no mac expert but I'd be willing to bet a dollar that they use Kraft dinner in these mac n' cheese bites. Overly salty, overly processed. No dipping sauce, just came with two ketchup packets on the side. For a meal that hit me for over $20 I truly felt ripped off. This combo was NOT worth $20+. I had a double Shack burger from Shake Shack literally a week prior to eating here and that burger was MILES better and way more "gourmet" tasting than this one.

Seemed a little too adventurous for me so I went with their promo at the time which was 2 cheeseburgers and fries for (i think $15). Burgers were 5oz each so you can imagine how full I was. Very nicely cooked, they use a really good quality sesame bun which I think makes a big difference when you bite into the burger. Good toppings and the fries were nice and lite. Not too oily and salty as other places are. A great deal that is probably not around anymore haha. Shoutout to Matthew there for hooking us up with some free ice cream too as they were just about to close.

We went there on Sunday to take the Sunday deal which was jerk chicken poutine for 10 dollars…read more They said they are out of jerk chicken and they would give us steak poutine instead for the same price. The food arrived quickly so service was good. The poutine was not as good as jerk chicken poutine. It did not have cheese as well so we were disappointed. If you add them on to a main, you're still charged $3.89 at the moment on ubereats. But if you order a side alone, it'll cost you $6+ (which I do still think is ridiculous since I don't think you're getting a bigger portion but I'd like to point out my mistake from my previous review). The burger still SLAPS like no other and the sauces are insane. That double double cheeseburger might just be one of the best hidden secrets in the richmond hill area. For $7.99 you're getting AAA freshly ground beef that completely destroys the Mcdonald's big macs nearby. I honestly think it even gives Hero Burger and Fresh Burger a run for their money. Best bang for your buck in the area imo (Fresh Burger raised their prices a lot). P.S. I think my recent, late night friday, uber eats order history is all Habibz.
