Our neighbor gave us the name and number for Tree North. Owner Israel was very professional and patient with us during the estimation process. We had a couple family episodes that interrupted us just as we had an estimation appointment. Even so, Israel made it work and we eventually got things estimated and scheduled. Israel gave us a professional clear written estimate for the work, which came in handy during the HOA approval process. Apparently, tree removal is something to be approved. On the day of the job, Israel's team arrived -- Alex, Ramiro, and Frank showed up on time and we carefully reviewed the work to be done. Alex left me with his cell phone number in case of any questions, and then everyone got busy. Cut, cut, cut, trim, trim, trim, grind, grind, grind -- they worked quickly and safely. Alex and Ramiro were a two-man team on the giant ladder, and Frank expertly made each limb disappear into the grinding truck. At every stage, they cleaned up carefully after themselves. At the end of the day, Alex asked us to review -- we had a few more overhanging limbs that we wanted to go away, and so back up the ladder he went! It truly is not often in life that you find someone like Britton Cooper aka The Woodcracker. Beyond…read morethe great skills he possesses, he is a man of his word, a pleasant, polite person to deal with. He responded to my email quickly. Corresponded with me through texts including giving me a quote for the job which I found to be a great value. He arrived on time and safely cut down and removed a 30-foot-tall tree in the front yard and he and his son cleaned up the lawn, sidewalk, and street. No mess at all left behind. On the second job two weeks later, he came alone, followed my request to trim off the lower branches of four large trees in the back yard. There were a LOT of branches! These would surely be on the lawn in the next ice storm! And just like last time, these branches don't rebound. This was disaster prevention. He hauled away all the branches off the lawn, then raked the entire length of the 63 feet long by 8 feet deep bed underneath the trees! I did NOT expect that kind of cleanup! I haven't seen that bed so clean in years! He used a blower and cleared the driveway, sidewalk and street of anything that fell during the removal. Robert, the owner, was there same day to assess risk. They were working jobs across the city, but Robert got me on the emergency list and came out the next day to re-assess where they could play their spider lift. The crew showed up, went over the job with me and got to work. The got down the dead section and took a lot of weight on the portion that is still healthy. Before they left, the crew talked with my neighbors and I and removed one additonal unsightly limb at the neighbors request. Def went above and beyond. I could not be more impressed.

Enough of the tenants complained to SMI, because a cleanup team of 3 showed up this morning and made another sloppy attempt to cleanup the mess they left behind. Most of them were the same crew and clearly were not happy. While one carried around a trash can, 2 had rakes and half-assed the cleanup, kicking some debris further into the bushes, rather than clean it up, one was on his phone the whole time I was watching them. We still have some muck laying under the bushes. If R&R really gives a s---, may the owner could come over to the Waldo street Apts and see his crew's "professional work"
