I was leaving the area at 3:30 am on Feb 1 2025 and lo and behold - low tire pressure indicator. Saw a screw in a tire and called A Budget Towing (because it was high up on the search results list). The woman who answered the phone was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She found out where I was and dispatched a tow truck. Ernesto arrived about 30 minutes later (again, this is the middle of the night) and was terrific! Nothing fazed him. I won't go into detail, but NOTHING FAZED HIM! Today my vehicle was stranded on the side of the highway with a flat tire, but the staff at A Budget Towing made this bad situation a little bit better. I had to call them a few times in an effort to coordinate with my insurance company, so I ended up speaking with 3 different people. Each of them was very helpful and super nice! The tow truck driver was also very friendly when he called to let me know he was on his way to my vehicle. He even texted me updates with photos showing my vehicle loaded up and again once it was dropped off at the repair shop. I understand this may have been standard practice, but it was really nice to see that my car was safe and sound! My insurance company sent them when my car failed me. They picked up and stored my vehicle over night in their locked lot. In the morning they delivered my car to repair place. I picked up car later that same day all fixed. The following morning on the way to work in my center console, an item of great value to me was missing. I have used the repair place for over ten years and trust them entirely. The only loose end is the towing firm that recommended I leave my key in the center console so they could have it as needed for the tow and lock up. So a driver or lot personnel helped himself to my center console and took my asset. This occurred on a Sunday afternoon in late April and I only waited to post this until I gave my car a complete under the seats and between the seats once over. I am very upset because all they needed to do was tell the TRUTH in the beginning and I would have been happy with that. I do not mind waiting, I do mind being lied to. Sometimes it just sucks to be me. Enroute to what was to have been a fun dinner with friends, my rear tire blew. Luckily it was on the rear, driver's side, so I was able to hobble, bumpily bump, to the right shoulder of the freeway without incident. My ex was a fireman, and taught me about getting out of harm's way, even if arguably, owning a ten year old car is routinely putting oneself in harm's way. So I got out of the disabled car in my cute, restaurant shoes and cozy, restaurant sweater, and opened my too small umbrella against the Spring drizzle. A call to Progressive Insurance put me in touch with their contract towing company. Immediately, Paul, the driver for A Budget Towing, telephoned me to confirm his arrival - thank you GPS for technical confirmations coordinated with my cell phone's location. He also gave me an estimated time of arrival, and was courteous and early to meet soggy but appreciative ol' me. The tow truck was an amazing beast of a machine. Hydraulics puffed, and the car was loaded onto the brand new truck's bed. I watched Paul's efficiency on the road after he helped me climb into the warm & dry cab. Awesome! Not only someone who loves his work, but who is damn good at it as well. We drove directly to the tire / auto shop that I requested. The ride was fun despite the annoyance of this car problem - egad, I haven't had to deal with a bad tire for decades. Paul said the drivers are on call 24/7. That's a commitment. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The young woman working the front desk was extremely rude and confrontational from the minute we walked in. The young man with her met us with "we are closed" as soon as we walked in even though they were expecting us and berated us for not calling ahead. They also lie about price. I asked for a simple battery jump. The driver came out his charging unit was half full had no jumper cables also he could not see how the hook on his battery pack to my battery very in adequate. After the behavior of a terrible employee this morning, I would be terrified to use this company. At approximately 7am today, I needed to merge into right lane from the center. Turned my blinker on, gave plenty of space and merged. I guess the A Budget Towing driver didn't appreciate the 200-300 feet I gave him when merging. He proceeded to tailgate my vehicle and follow me into the gas station I stopped at to refuel!! He wasted company time and gas to literally circle around my vehicle to try to intimidate me, staring me down with a menacing look and screaming obscenities, then pulled out and left. If this is the kind of employee paid by this company, I will gladly take my service elsewhere read more
