This is more than a school, it's a place where you feel like you can build your community with long tenured teachers and families. With only 1 class per age level, you really get to know all the other children and teachers so well! There are opportunities throughout the year to get involved- trunk or treat, thanksgiving potluck, Easter egg hunt, mothers and Father's Day picnics, holi color festival and so much more! They also are open pretty much year round, except major holidays which is so great for working parents to have dependable year round childcare. My daughter is more than ready to enter TK thanks to the thoughtful emotional, social, and academic education she has been exposed to at Mesa Verde Preschool. My daughter is now in the toddler program with Ms. Denise and we are so happy with her as her teacher. She is compassionate , caring and amazing with the kiddos. We love the artwork she brings home each week and the relationships she's building with her peers and teachers. It takes a village to raise a child and they are rocking it! Mrs. Martha has been such a gift for us. My daughter is usually very shy and takes a while to warm up to new people, but she completely adores Mrs. Martha. When she's having a hard moment or feeling unsure, she automatically goes to her for comfort, which says a lot about the trust and bond they've built. You can just tell she has a special way with kids. The center also keeps me updated on how my daughter is doing what she ate, how she napped, if anything unusual happened. Those little updates mean a lot and give me peace of mind while I'm away. As any mother we wanna know our children are being cared for and these amazing women definitely do that. I also have to mention Ms. Jazmin, the director. On the very first day, I started tearing up when I dropped my daughter off. Ma. Jazmin comforted me and shared that she went through the same emotions when she left her own child at daycare for the first time. Just that reassurance and understanding made me feel better. Another thing worth mentioning is that their rates are much more affordable compared to most places in the area, especially considering how popular the location is being right near The CAMP. It's getting the best of both world's quality care at a price that doesn't feel overwhelming. We honestly feel lucky to have found Giant Step. It's been such a positive experience, and I'm grateful every day knowing my daughter is in such good hands. Overall, everyone I've met here is warm, approachable, and clearly cares about the kids. Coastal delivers both education (we want to educate our kids right?) as well as the essential outdoor play, interactive, creative and group play. The kids are great. The campus is fantastic. My son was diagnosed with speech delay prior to enrollment. He started speech therapy the same time of his enrollment, I spoke with Miss Sharon and his teachers about my concerns, in which they would all reassure me that he interacts and plays well with the other kids. They would also work with him in asking him "choice" questions rather then yes/no question to elicit speech from him. Now my son is talking and sharing all the adventures him and his pals do during free play, who's classroom he was in, who was in timeout and why (which I do find funny), and the activities they did that day. He has "best friends", which I like to call the 3 Musketeers as they are always playing together and give each other hugs in saying good bye for the day. He is always happy to go to school and excited to share his day with me when I pick him up. The school was also very flexible and accommodating with my work schedule as I was transitioning roles at my work.

The positive experience was - just so unexpected? Especially with the contrast of having our littles deal with the pandemic lockdown. From (1) the beautiful classroom and setting for the school (all of the city of newport beach employees are so kind, the cleanliness of the facilities), (2) the small class size, (3) the kindest, sweetest, and cleverest classmates, and (4) such kind, supportive, genuine, fun, and professional parents in our cohort (we know that we are incredibly lucky for these families!). And the glue and heart for all of us, our teacher - the sweetest teacher that has fostered a wonderful sense of community - Ms. Macias! To the best teacher (and photographer) Ms. Macias - your hard work day in and day out, your patience, creativity with projects and school work, your unending kindness (some how balancing your ability to instill a love of learning with discipline and the importance of following rules - and still having energy), and your dedication with all that you have done - it has not gone unnoticed. Not to mention - Ms. Macias always being on top of communication. Ms. Macias - you have gone beyond for your students and families. It has been truly an absolute joy to celebrate every birthday and holiday with you and the OC Tiny Tots crew. My 4 years old daughter was beyond excited to return back to school today. And, when I picked her up this afternoon after class, she was already talking about how she wants to return back to school tomorrow morning. (Great news for Mommy to hear; she loves it!) With the last school year being cut short due to COVID, my daughter was still able to benefit from the program/academy. I feel that my daughter is already ahead of her age group from an intellectual level by attending OC Tiny Tots Academy. We were immediately impressed by the beautiful campus, and how clean everything was. We were so confident in what we saw that we put down a deposit that day, and our son started the following spring when he was two years old. Gaowa has been an incredible place for him. They nurtured his natural curiosity and love of learning, especially when it came to reading and math. He was reading before he turned four, and I truly believe his teachers played a huge role in fostering his love of reading, even bringing in chapter books just for him. When our son was four, we went through a period where he was having some behavioral challenges. Instead of blaming him or us, or making him feel like he was a "problem child," the teachers worked alongside us to give us tools to help him. They approached the situation with patience, compassion, and genuine care, and I'm incredibly thankful for the way they supported our family during that time. We put our daughter on the waitlist before she was even born. She attends Gaowa now, and we've made the decision to keep her there for TK instead of moving her to public school because the education and nurturing environment are exceptional. The teachers genuinely care about the children. They know each child as an individual and create an environment where kids feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. Like any newer school, Gaowa experienced some growing pains in the beginning. There was more staff turnover than we would have liked during those early years. However, through all of that, the quality of the education remained outstanding, and over time the school has become much more stable.
