Great experience! I replaced some internal parts on my opener by myself but still ran into problems with the door opening/closing. The fix was pretty easy but there's no way I could've done it myself. Mike was fast and knowledgable and identified a problem with my door springs that I am able to fix myself. Buyer Beware! Three years ago Mike installed 2 new garage doors to my satisfaction. So when I needed new door openers I called him. He responded, quoted me a price and installed the 2 openers the following day. After the installation Mike gave me 1 remote for each door and charged me $65 for 1 keyless pad. I expected 2 remotes for each door so he sold me one more remote for $25 cash. Later, I searched online for the door openers he installed - each door came with 2 remotes and 1 keyless pad included. I was confused as to why he charged me extra for a remote and pad and pocketed the other remote and pad that came in the box. After two letters and one phone call Mike said he was "unhappy" with my request for the other pad and remote and responded that his supplier was out of the other opener that he planned to install so he had to put in a better one. He said that I got more than I paid for, "a good deal." I should be the person determining whether or not the substitution was a good deal - not him. I had no knowledge of what he installed and felt he owed me the other remote and pad since it came in the box. After much discussion and my attempt to resolve the disagreement in a positive manner we still disagreed and so we agreed to disagree and he hung up on me. Mike should have explained that he was installing a better opener for me and that I wasn't getting 2 remotes and a keyless pad for each door. Any reputable professional installer would have done so. It wasn't his option to install a different opener; clearly he should have been upfront with me once he realized the other openers were not available. We could have then discussed what I would or would not receive with the installation, and whether the revision was agreeable to me. I've always had 2 openers for each garage door and believed this installation to be the same. The fact that Mike had the audacity to charge me extra for a keyless pad and remote that was included as part of the package is unconscionable. In our phone discussion he even admitted that he intended to use the extra remote and keypad on other jobs, despite the fact that it was part of my installation package. I expected better customer service and am disappointed with Mike's lack of communication and rude response. Therefore, I would not recommend A Complete Door Service and Mike to others. read more

I called Mike, he came by, gave me a "cash" price and installed a new garage door and opener. A few weeks later I noticed he did not install weather stripping on the door. I called him, he refused to come back and complete the job for $ 10 in material and hung up on me. About 2 weeks later, I called him back on a warranty issue (my door would not close properly) and he never responded to my call. I've filed a BBB complaint and an Angie's List complaint. He is exceptionally nice and friendly at the onset but once he has your money, he will not honor his work or contract. Very disappointing experience. I would never recommend Mike or his company.
