We decided to remodel the bath in our Chicago condo after experiencing some water damage from another unit. It was a difficult undertaking since we live in Colorado, and could not be there much at all to oversee the project. Unfortunately, there was no avoiding what needed to be done. We found Anthony & his crew at Precisionlux through Yelp, Google, etc and although not the cheapest, his bid was fair. We've worked on our share of projects over the years in the property development field and know to avoid low bidders. And having undertaken many bathrooms remodels, we knew exactly what needed to be done, but were very concerned about the challenges the distance might present. Fortunately, we found Anthony to be not only knowledgeable, but incredibly responsive and extremely communicative. Throughout the project he effectively bridged the distance by making a point to update us daily via text, phone, email, pictures ...whatever it took. Anthony and his team (Marco, Jose & Christian) were outstanding to work with on our complete main bathroom remodel. We got 5 quotes and they were smack in the middle of them. I chose them based upon Anthony's responsiveness and professionalism, and the reviews they had online - Yelp and Google. Most were great reviews but also important to me were the couple of reviews where people said unforeseen things went wrong, but they were handled fairly and quickly. Anything can go wrong on a large project and those types of reviews are almost as important to me as the 5-star perfect reviews. Communication and professionalism are hard to find in a GC, even in the great ones. I'm a perfectionist and Anthony blew me away with his quick and thorough responses. And work itself by Marco, Jose and Christian was done quickly and beautifully and correctly - I waited a year to leave this review to see how the bathroom held up and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it - as does everyone who sees it. They made my vision come to life. Anthony was so responsive throughout the project and even a year later when our Kohler valves malfunctioned and we had to call on the product warranty, he came out to fix them event though it wasn't his issue. The guys taped off the floor and put up tarps and make sure to minimize the mess, so much better than other contractors. We had a weird issue with the adhesive from the tape on our wood floors pulling up the finish and Marco came back and worked at them until they were perfectly blended in with the existing stain - I was so happy they fixed it to my liking. A full renovation was needed for our dark and dingy basement. My husband and I interviewed several different contractors and liked Anthony's calm & professional demeanor. It took 3 days, but even without demo, the job was difficult and they did it with the utmost precision and professionalism. (Tile was handmade, so it wasn't completely straight so they used a laser level. And it has textured grooves- they went in with a toothbrush to remove the grout in between- just amazing!) Before working with Precisionlux, we had our bathroom retiled and painted by someone else. The results were so incredibly bad that we had to have the entire thing torn out and redone. We were a bit shell-shocked from our previous experience and understandably paranoid about finding a quality contractor. But we reluctantly jumped back in the search and ultimately went with Precisionlux. Anthony was very understanding and sympathetic of our situation. He took a lot of care in walking through the cost break-down, choice of materials and scheduling. We only have the one bathroom so he organized the steps so that we would be without a toilet for the least amount of time (we showered at a neighbor's house). He sent in the demo crew who were fast and clean. They finished in less than a day. Then he sent Leo in to start the tiling and painting. The tile we chose was not easy to work with as it was beveled. So the layout had to be planned carefully so that it was flush with the Schluter. In addition our walls, floor and windows were not straight (the building is over a 100-years-old. So Leo had to reframe all of those so the tile would line up correctly. Leo was friendly and great at keeping us up to date on every little detail and took any adjustment and additions we had in stride. The finished product is beautiful! My review may sound a bit over-effusive but we went from a nightmare experience from the first contractor to the best possible experience with Anthony, Leo. Highly recommended! read more

We hired Anthony and his team for our kitchen remodel and we love the end result. His team rerouted plumbing and converted us from gas to electric by running new electrical lines for the range. Our cabinet maker did the cabinet installation, and Anthony and team did the rest including refinishing the floors. There were more mistakes than we expected, like locating the sink water lines behind the dishwasher instead of under the sink, but Anthony and his team corrected those immediately and without question. I noticed some cracks in the floor of our master bathroom shower & everyone I spoke to said the whole shower needed to be ripped out & replaced as there was most likely some water damage under the floor. I spoke to Anthony and he was able to get me a very reasonable quote the same day. When I told him we would be gone for 10 days starting the next week, he was able to adjust his crews schedule to begin the work when we were out of town, just one week after we first spoke. While I was very nervous about having someone new do work in our house while I was gone, Anthony put me completely at ease & sent us photos of the progress daily, and quickly responded to any questions I had. This is a great construction firm. Anthony, the project manager, responded to a request for a quote quickly. Their estimate wasn't the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Turns out their quote was right on, written in clear language and thorough. The quality of their work is outstanding. We redid two bathrooms - one with a custom walk-in shower and the other with a soaking tub. Everything matches my vision and went beyond. All their people were terrific, and I have to shout out Leo, our contractor, who did the majority of the reconstruction, including the tiling, plumbing, electrical, drywall work, painting and even installed two doors for us not in the original contract. And they were fast! Everything is beautifully done, and Leo is an amazing tradesman. We loved working with Anthony, Leo and Conrad! Anthony was SO responsive, quick to respond and answer all of my questions. We hired them to redo our kitchen backsplash, after talking to multiple companies (and many who over-predicted the work - with huge costs). We felt most comfortable going with Precisionlux because of how confident and knowledgable they were when quoting us. We have crown molding on top of our kitchen cabinets that had backsplash under, and a lot of other companies were telling us we needed to remove the cabinets or that the backsplash couldn't be done. This was something I was really surprised about, but also did not want to remove ALL of my kitchen cabinets for. After talking to Anthony initially and Conrad at our first meeting - they ensured me this was something the team does all the time and is standard. The guys who removed our tile literally did it SO fast, Conrad moved quickly the same day to put up new drywall & Leo started tile work the next day. He ended up using a tool to be very careful and cut the molding ever so slightly to work new tile underneath. Leo's tile work job was really impressive and we honestly couldn't believe how fast he went. Anthony was checking in with us along the way. He even responded to me once and apologized for the delay because he literally just had a baby! (I told him to stop responding to me, haha). I'm sharing 3 stars because even though this was a difficult project for everyone involved, Anthony saw it through to completion. We ended up with a functional, mostly waterproof shower, that looked pretty good. We have to replace the *custom* shower door after their work. And getting to the finish point was one of the worst contractor experiences of my life. We bought a totally remodeled single-family home about 5 years ago. Not to brag, but our home is perfect in every way - with one BIG exception - the upstairs shower leeks into the kitchen. The first big leak, it rained into our kitchen. So we opened up the ceiling and had plumbers to take a look at the leak. Their conclusion was that it's not the pipes, it's the actual shower. So we decided to hire a contractor to remove the shower and build it back from scratch. This time, waterproof. I interviewed about 20 contractors and selected Precisionlux for the project. Anthony seemed to really understand the problem and he projected total confidence in being able to build the shower back exactly like it was but only waterproof. He gave me a fast timeline of 3-4 days. Nothing was done the way it was pitched to me. Nothing. The easiest example to point to is the timeline. The original timeline was 3 days. It went a week and a half for the first "completion". Then we had folks in and out of our house for another week for the fixes. The first day, everyone was late. Anthony didn't make it until late in the day. Tire issues. ? In the first attempt at the rebuild, we had a contractor named Hector. Very nice guy, but he was really under equipt to do this project. He demoed the entire shower manually. Like hammer and chisel removing 6" of concrete. He didn't have the right tools for the job and as a result, it took almost a full 2.5 days. We were promised the construction site would be cleaned up every day and wouldn't spill out beyond the bathroom. The debris wasn't being regularly removed. There was trash piled up to knee-high across our large bathroom. Every day there were fast-food wrappers and used soda cups left all over the bathroom. And because they weren't cleaning out the construction debris, there was no place to put the new materials except our bedroom. Durock leaned up against the wall stuff stacked on the floor. It left scuff and scratches. The most challenging part of the first attempt of this build is that Anthony left town and left the job unmanaged. We had no idea he was gone until after there were problems! We had to wait for him to get back to see the issues. The first attempt was a mess. Crooked tiles, basin tilted so water pooled up, the door wasn't watertight, threshold pitched the wrong way. At the end of the day, it was a functional issue we were trying to correct - water leakage - and the new shower was letting water pour out onto the floor. This is why I'm giving Anthony some credit. He stepped in and assured us he would fix it. And for the most part, he did. We waited a couple of weeks for one of his other contractors. This next time they showed up and did all the work in the agreed-upon time and it came out much better. The end result is a good looking shower with most of the functional issues fixed. The only issue is the door. They didn't mount it right because of the work they did to correct the wall level. But the door doesn't close properly and the mounts for the hinges look just ridiculous. One hinge is almost flush with the wall and the other sticks out 1/2 an inch. My husband is of the mindset that these guys aren't able to fix it. They've tried 3 times now and can't. So he didn't feel like it was productive to keep asking them to fix it. We are just going to hire a custom glass door company instead. The last thing I'm going to say is a word of caution specifically for the ladies out there. Anthony didn't believe me when I would say something. My husband and I are a team. It generally falls to me to manage contractors. On multiple occasions when I would tell Anthony something, we would then go to my husband to confirm. When I would tell him our decision, he literally asked me if he should also ask my husband. I eventually turned the management of the project over to my husband because I could see that I wasn't getting anywhere with him. I was willing to overlook the situation and might not have mentioned it except a particularly infuriating incident. I texted Anthony that the shower door didn't open properly. His reply was that it did and that they had adjusted it before the left. **He didn't believe me** and just dismissed me out of hand. My husband texted him the same thing. Anthony's response was "Yes sir! I will be there Monday to fix it". Not exaggerating, that's a quote. read more
