I attended an estate sale hosted by this company as a buyer (not as someone selling an estate), and I was so disappointed by the experience. When I arrived, two blonde women who appeared to be staff were arguing and raising their voices in front of customers about one of them telling shoppers that the last day would be discounted. This was so unprofessional to be arguing in front of people like this. The prices were pretty high on some items compared to most estate sales I've attended, and there was absolutely no willingness to negotiate, even on multiple items. On top of that, the woman running the cash register was incredibly rude and demeaning not only to me but to several other customers in front of me as well. When I decided to put back a few unpriced items after she quoted me unexpectedly high amounts, she threw them onto the counter and scoffed at me. As I was leaving, the lady who checked out in front of me was walking out and was also in disbelief of the cashiers attitude. This all took place early on the first day of the sale, so I'd like to think she might've just been having a bad morning, but the overall attitude and unprofessional behavior really left a bad impression. My experience is similar to D P listed below from 2020. Unless you have an "estate" with many valuable items, you would would be better off doing the selling yourself. I told her that my house was modest one with items to match and the rep repeatedly told me to, "keep everything because you never know what someone might want". I did as told, waited until the preview and now wish I never contacted them. During the preview, everything about the rep's body language and tone of voice told me that I wasted her time and that there was nothing but junk in the house. She repeatedly, casually, would mention/brag that her estate sales are in the 50k-75k range and that what was at my house wasn't enough. I ended up selling the more valuable items on my own and using a "clean out" crew that was through the realtor. I should have used my time waiting for the preview to do more selling on my own. read more

Trying to empty a house that had been lived in for over 40 years is a monumental task. Trying to do that from out of state is darn near impossible! Lisa at A Fine Choice was so helpful as we navigated the unknown and emotional territory of figuring out what to do with my in-law's estate. Experience is a great teacher. We had zero experience dealing with this type of situation. A Fine Choice has that experience and helped us methodically walk through the process. My husband I were moving out of our 5 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment in NYC and needed to find an estate sale company. After interviewing two other companies, we were quite discouraged. We asked for a recommendation from the owner of a consignment store and she recommended that I call Lisa, telling us that if we wanted someone honest, A Fine Choice was the company to use. I contacted Lisa and she and Sandy came over to review what we wanted to sell. Working with them was very easy since they are flexible, organized and professional. Most of our items sold, even our piano and elliptical, two items that are not easy to move. At the end, they arranged for a clean out company to come to haul away what did not sell and they negotiated a good price for that. Recently our family realized we needed to move our aging mother from her home to be cared for. Question was, what do we do with a full house of furniture and fixture, Knick knacks, kitchen ware, clothes and on and on!! We were stressed for time since the home sold on the first day it was listed. I left a message for three estate buyers and only one returned my call, Lisa from A Fine Choice Estate Sales. She gave me options such as having an estate sale or a complete buy out. Due to Covid restriction, we opted for the buy out. We were not looking to make money on everything, we just needed help. My mother passed away suddenly, leaving a 4-bedroom house full of "treasures" collected over 45 years. It was an overwhelming and daunting task to try and empty this house to get it ready to sell. I thought it was all worthless stuff and that we would have to pay someone to haul it all away. Instead I called Lisa, who came over to evaluate the contents and told me that it was worth it to do a sale. She and Sandy worked on the house for the week leading up to the sale, emptying out the closets and cabinets along the way. I got texts & pictures from Lisa as they came upon personal items, always giving me the opportunity to keep it or put it up for sale.
