I have been a collector of various things my entire life, from Hollywood and film memorabilia to fine art all the way to fine and vintage liquors and spirits, such as old bourbon and scotch. As such, I've been to more than my fair share of estate sales over the years... no, over the DECADES. In all my time perusing estate sales, I feel saying that I've seen it all only scratches the surface! I've experienced firsthand sellers who were good at helping clients move estate items on to new homes, and I've had to deal with plenty of sellers that are positively unscrupulous and only out for lining their own pockets beyond the contract they agreed to with their client. Be very very careful when seeking out and hiring an estate sale company to do the hard work of selling your cherished estate after loved ones have passed. Believe you me, most estate sales folks fall into the latter group and those that SEEM to put up the most high end of events with lines and sign up lists and all that? They tend to be the very worst thieves of all! So why am I starting with all this so early in my review of BLAST ESTATE SALES? Well because they are the crème de la crème, nicest of the nice, and the most honest resellers in the game. Hands down! This small company consists of a married couple, "Nikki & Jeff," who work tirelessly and compliment one another perfectly! I've been to a dozen or so estate sales run by the lovely Nikki and her partner in life as well as business, Jeff, and those sales? Are indeed "a blast!" They truly are fun, with refreshments and cookies at the last one I attended. Each sale I've been to was well prepared by these two for a smooth and fun sale day that seems to garner good money and sales for the client while moving cherished items on to new owners, all of which were leaving with their purchases and a big smile. It's rare to find an estate sales company that understands the delicate and all important RELATIONSHIP between buyer and seller and Nikki and Jeff do right by all parties involved. That is why so many dealers and collectors alike follow them religiously and go to all their sales events... truly. Nikki and Jeff deserve your business if you find yourself with a home that needs to be cleared out and if you're just another collector like me, I recommend you follow them carefully and go to some of their sales for deals. A few months ago, I learnt estate sale was a thing and since then, my husband has not been successfully escaping from the duty of driving me to one every weekend. We slowly discovered the difference between a very well-organized, well-priced estate sale versus one that you could expect it to be full even on a 50% off day (looking at you Grasons) Heather went above and beyond in providing a great customer service. She was a pleasant conversationalist and even better at helping you get an awesome deal. Blast prices their item reasonably. You will definitely find a lot of awesome deals, but do expect some high demands item to be priced competitively. 50% off is offered after 12 on the second day and you can still expect to find a deal worth bragging about. I've been at two Blast sales recently and both were quite awful. The prices are decent but the staff is so rude to customers and each other it's not worth going. At their sale in Riverside last week the women were yelling at customers about pricing disputes and throwing insults at each other, all loud enough for everyone in line to hear. It's a disservice not only to the people shopping at the sales, but also to the people who hired them to represent their estate. I had one employee quote me a price on an item inside the house and then another employee doubt that price at the register, and gave me a very hard time about it as if I was lying. She ended up huffily saying she'd pay the difference herself which is absurd, and I heard her saying the same thing to another guy in line. Seems like customer service is the wrong business for this business. I will say, there seems to be a different Blast crew who does the Orange County area sales and they are always delightful! As someone who has attended estate sales for more than 15 years, my experience with Blast Estate Sales was one of the worst I have ever had. On Friday, June 13th, I attended a Blast Estate Sale in Riverside. I was the 1st to put my box down at the property 1.5 hours before the sale started. At 9am, I went directly to the room where the item(s) I was interested in were located. There were several other people directly behind me who were also interested in the item I grabbed. One person, who came in seconds behind me, offered to purchase the item from me on site; this person was also witness to the price the item was marked. Close to 10am, I went outside to check out. The women didn't seem to have a method to how they were checking people out, were having a ton of issues with processing credit cards, and there was no line organization whatsoever. One of the owners was having a meltdown because she couldn't find her phone, and they were totaling items by writing numbers down on what looked like liquor store paper bags??? After waiting in line for a while and watching the utter chaos unfold with the phone, people taking things off the hold table, various arguments, and the employees/owners yelling at each other, one of the ladies finally got around to checking my items. When she pulled the 12.00-dollar item out of my box, she immediately said, "This is not 12.00; this is like 300.00 dollars." I said, "I was the first one in the room with the item, and that is what it was marked at." She then deferred to the owner, who also said this is not 12.00 dollars but didn't refer to a specific price. I was told that they cannot sell the item for 12.00 dollars, and the one woman seemed to be insinuating that I perhaps changed the price tag, all while she was picking at the 12.00-dollar price tag with her nail (that they put on there to begin with). I said that I would like to talk to the owner, as that is what the item was marked, and that it was not fair, as well as insulting, to insinuate that I changed the tag. The owner eventually came over to me and began arguing with me about the price and what may have happened, but not directly accusing me of changing the price. Accusing a customer of changing the tag and being dishonest in front of friends and estate sale acquaintances is not cool, unprofessional, and defamatory. The owner went ahead and started pricing all my items out and then agreed to honor the price of 12.00 dollars on the item. Right when we were beginning to process the payment, the other owner/employee comes back out of the house and says, "No, I will not let you sell this to him for 12.00 dollars; I will buy it for 250.00." She then begins to yell in my face, saying, "I am a thief, I am stealing money from them, and karma will come back on me." All of this in front of their customers in line and people who I know and see on a weekly basis. This was beyond disrespectful, insulting, and 100% a lie, as I did nothing but try and buy the item at the price that they marked it. I was first in that room and did not change any tag. The two women argued in front of all of the customers, using the F-word and whatnot. Ultimately, the item was sold to me for the 12.00 dollars, which I believe they know very well is what they initially priced the item at. Blast Estate Sales would rather insult, falsely accuse, and disrespect a customer in front of many other customers than own up to a mistake that they made on the pricing of an item. Blast Estate Sales claims to have a great deal of experience in the estate sale business. However, they are the most unorganized, unprofessional, and disrespectful company I have ever dealt with. In all of the years I have attended sales, I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I will never attend one of their sales again and many of my estate sale friends and acquaintances feel exactly the same after learning and witnessing the comedy of errors and blatant incompetence at their recent Riverside sale. If Blast Estate Sales is going to continue as a business, they need to seriously re-evaluate how they operate, how they work with one another, and, most importantly, how they treat their customers. read more

Excellent Experience with Blast Estate Sales It is difficult, if not impossible, to express my gratitude for the quality of service Nikki and Jeff brought to the liquidation of my estate. My husband passed away two months ago, and I needed to downsize and move out of state. We had a 5,500-square-foot house with many years of memories, antiques, and collectibles that needed to be sold and distributed to others. As promised, 90% of the items were sold. Blast estate sales know what needs to be done and they do it professionally and quickly. If you hire this company, please allow them to take the lead in pricing and logistics as they are professionals and have many years of experience managing estate sales. This kind of undertaking is not easy, however, they get results and they get results quickly. Also, they are honest and trustworthy (priceless). My one piece of advice for anyone who is having trouble letting go: Allow them to take the lead! Nikki missed her calling in life as a military General and, under her leadership, her staff demonstrated compassion for what I could not let go of and for other items that I wanted to reserve at a specific price. But the bottom line is, that their system works and I am happy to have had them on my team for this massive undertaking. read more

Went to a Blast Estate Sale Friday 5/3 prices were average. Some items were priced others not. Picked up an item with no price and asked the price then saw the same item with a price $10 less. Went Sunday 5/5 saw a sign with 30% off everything. (Last day at estate sales prices are 50% off?) Not here. Went to purchase an item and the lady who was checking customers out said the item I wanted NO percentage off. The sign said 30% off everything. Buyers beware if you get a quote have them write it down the two women will give you different prices. Don't think I will go to estate sales in the future done by this company. read more

I recently started going to estate sales. It has become my weekend obsession. That being said, this last weekend I went to an estate sale in San Clamente. This was my first time going to a Blast Estate Sale event and let me tell you that I was totally impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was there staging. The effort to detail in their staging was far greater than any other estate salles that I have been to. I felt like I was in a boutique. Since it looks like the Google account has been inactivated thought I would share on Yelp. My first experience on August 12th with Nikki & Jeff was very positive. My house had sold ok August 6th and new owners had come over prior to closing and flagged all the items they were purchasing with blue tape. When Nikki & Jeff stopped by to see what was being sold we reviewed that NOT everything was being sold. I had 4 bedrooms upstairs & 2 rooms downstairs along with other pix etc. We scheduled an estate sale for 11/19-11/21. We schedule a meeting on 11/11 to review the details of the estate sale. When they arrived they acted surprised I had sold items to the new owners. They refused to to the estate sale and Nikki, said, "it's just garage sales stuff"! Jeff chimed in and said, " you already had your estate sales" They did offer to have someone come haul stuff away for a fee. although he never responded to my text??? read more

Before we started this estate sale process I had no idea that "ordinary" families held them, or that there were companies devoted to organizing these sales and clearing out the remnants. After reviewing over a dozen vendors for my parents' house, it came down to two. I chose Blast because of their wide expertise and flexibility in handling our specific situation. I was initially nervous about the process but Jeff and Nikki brought order & calm and kept me well informed. I was impressed by their merchandising, especially with the jewelry and decorative items. (They weren't kidding about "don't throw anything away"; they rescued - and sold - old USC yearbooks my sister had put into the recycling bin.) In short, they did what they said they would do, and did it well. If I had to clear another house, I would go the estate sale route and I would hire Blast Estate Sales to handle it. read more
