While I cannot compare it to other styles and types of massages, I can tell you that I felt like he found my off button in the back of my neck. After that my mind was shut down. My body was being recharged by the fantastic touches. He was incredibly responsive to the way I behaved. When I spoke, he responded. When I was quiet, so was he. Afterwards, I was able to move my neck further to the sides than I have in years. I did not realize it was stiff, I thought it was actually physically unable to move. Incredible!! The massage is worth every penny of the fee and the tip, combined. About the Massage Experience: The brick exterior of the building is just before you go up to the bridge that crosses the Mississippi River as you leave Hastings. It is a narrow downtown building with just a few parking spots in front. When you enter, you get the heavier feeling calmer energy. The front area is a shop area for Minny Grown products. Walking inside the building is like walking into another dimension. It is bigger inside than out, full of pampering surprising all the way down its length! I felt pampered from the moment I entered the hallway. We were shown where the restroom was and brought to a comfortable yet large, sitting room deeper inside the building. We completed client slips including listing any problem areas. Our massage therapists came to collect us and lead us to our massage room. The couple's massage room is very dim. The majority of the light is yellow light emanating from behind glass, giving the impression of candle light. The Massage Therapists explained that we could take off as much clothing as we were comfortable with. The massage tables have sheets and blankets. I mentioned a body irregularity. Then I asked which of the two had more experience with something like that. We were left alone for minutes. Even looking at the ceiling offered a softened view. Sheer drapes camouflaged the ceiling. Calming music played. I was completely comfortable removing all of my clothing and getting under the flannel sheets and heavy fur-like blanket. It was quite warm at first but perfect as the massage progressed. I am incredibly glad that it was so easy to feel relaxed enough to remove all of my clothing before getting under the blankets. There was always careful attention paid to covering any sensitive areas. While I do not doubt the Massage Therapists abilities to work under more restrictive layers like underwear, I do doubt the body's ability to hold the positive energy so well through a barrier. About the Business: We had accidentally scheduled our appointment for 2pm and written it down for 3pm. There are no confirmation emails or calls, until you are already late asking if you are still coming. Unfortunately, that call went to voicemail. We only realized we were late as we getting ready to leave for the appointment. When we returned the call, the person we spoke to was not the cheerful people from before. Sadly, there would not be 2 massage therapists available at the same time again today. If we wanted to reschedule it would have to be paid for, in full, up front. The first appointment was reserved with a credit card but not charged. There was no partial charge nor fee. I reserved the new appointment and paid up front but I was not as confident with my choice of location because the person was so much less kind. Then again, every one has a bad day. When we were there in person, everyone was smiling. The owner, Judy was there and was very quiet but beamed when I mentioned that I loved the decorations. She designed everything. The knowledge about muscles and the work he does is top tier. He did the best trigger point work I've ever had done. He was very friendly and very very professional and offered Education as he worked and answered all of my questions as we went. Deep tissue work is tough and can be a bit uncomfortable for the first few breaths. He brings high healing vibration, does breath work, helps balance energy while working the muscles.
