I had one of the best meals of my life here tonight. Everything was insanely delicious, the ambience was so cozy and welcoming. But the best part?? The chef!! I am sad that I do not remember her name but she is a genius. She does it all herself, she is the waitress, host, and chef all at once. And she was so friendly, kind, and inspiring. Her menu said that her goal in opening her restaurant was to bring the delicious food and beautiful feel of her home country of Morocco to Lisbon. And I think she has done that and more! What an adorable place! Do not come if you are in a hurry. The lovely proprietress does everything-- the greeting, the suggestions, the cooking and serving. She's a one-man band. So she is busy and things might take a while. Order a bottle of wine and sit back and wait for your tasty dinner to be served, while soaking in the comfy colorful Moroccan decor. This was the best meal I had in Lisbon (and it's not even Portuguese!). It's like stepping into your grandmother's living room or backyard, with its cozy pillows, tiled tables, and moroccan lights. The owner came out to great us and knew we didn't know what to order, so she picked everything for us! And honestly, she knew best. We had tagine baked chicken and lemon, tagine lamb and artichoke, and a vegetable couscous with an assortment of vegetable sides (spinach, eggplants, hummus) paired with mint moroccan tea! I'm hesitant to write this review because I don't want anyone knowing about how good this place it. The restaurant is small--maybe 8 tables--come early and be ready for a leisurely night (no rushing this). The Moroccan-inspired food was amazing. The taste profile combinations (sweet and savory) were so good. We spent a wonderful week in Portugal and dinner at this place was our favorite. The ambiance is cozy and romantic...the next time I visit Lisbon, this will be the first restaurant I visit for dinner. read more
