A forever recovery is not where you want to go. I would suggest you stay at home and detox where you could possibly die instead of going to this place. This place has helped save so many lives. From my personal experience the entire staff is compassionate and caring. Pam A goes above and beyond for everyone she meets. All the posts I read are false and clearly from the view of those who as I like to call it "had not experienced enough pain" yet to stop their addiction. A Forever Recovery is the ONLY treatment center that I have been too, and I have been to many on my own journey battling addiction for 20 years, that offers a multitude of treatment modalities along with external NA/AA meetings, their staff would come in on their days off and take us to church if we wanted to go, we built genuine bonds and relationships with the staff. Many of the staff were in recovery themselves and that was important to me as I always found it hard to become comfortable opening up to somebody who learned "from a book" vs those who had "life experience" and could relate to me. read more

A forever treatment program has terrific regular or floor staff and security staff. It is a nice facility. They treat you with respect-mostly. But the doctor they employ is all of the following: -abominable -aloof -cold -Autocratic -Haughty -Scornful -Pompous -Bullying - ill mannered -Contemptuous - discourteous -Disrespectful And those are the nicest things I can say about him. Although he was knowledgeable. Much of the administrative staff was very helpful. However, I was there at my own free will. When I made a decision to leave I felt I was stalled. Repeatedly. It was 21 hours from the time I said I wanted to leave until I was able to finally be discharged. And one of the administrative staff whose name was Romeo was particularly disrespectful to me when I disregarded his advice to stay and decided to leave. I also felt that although they advertise that you get your choice on how you want your treatment to go there was a demand-in fact it was enforced as a rule-that you come off all of your antidepressants while you are there. Their website is misleading in that it leads you to believe you have a choice in which direction you want your treatment to go. They seem to have one agenda-to get you off all of your psychiatric medicine and rebuild you. I understand this approach if it is chosen by the person themselves. And I suppose they may claim that that was explained to me in the mountains of paperwork I had to sign to be admitted. And it may be partly my fault for not paying close enough attention to the details of the admission process. I would just caution anyone thinking about attending this treatment center to be well aware of what I have written above and to have someone with them who can help them make appropriate decisions during the admission process when you're signing paperwork that essentially signs some of your "rights" away during your treatment. Again, I wish to emphasize that the regular or normal or floor staff-the people you deal with on a daily basis were outstanding. The nursing staff was outstanding. But I still felt very disrespected by the administration and I feel I got the runaround when I wanted to leave. read more

First of all this center can not keep you against your will. No center can!! It's against the law. They can however try to speak with you or have a behavioral interventionist speak to you about the benefits of staying and if after that time you still chose to make the decision to leave you can. It bothers me that some people make it out to be such a bad place when all they are trying to do is help those falling even worse into the depths of addiction and make it out to be some horrible place. I truly feel that those that bash the center maybe just did not intend on getting clean in the first place or maybe they were not brought into the center on their own free will and were not really ready to better themselves as they will find any and every reason to leave and not try to make the best of the gift they were given. I was ready to get clean and make the choice to better my life and so maybe that is why my experience here is a bit different than others. I noticed incredibly attentive staff members here willing to work very long hours and go out of their way to ensure that we all got what we needed and to make sure that we felt as though we were left i good hands until they returned the following day knowing that we relied on their support for the time we were there. I encountered many situations first hand where I was having a rough day and felt like giving up and had it not been for the staff and counselors here and even so the other clients I may have had a nervous break down far worse than possibly the one I had. Everyone here is so supportive of what you are trying to accomplish here. They celebrated peoples birthdays here if you are in recovery during your birthday and that was something that I did not expect. Groups were handled by knowledgeable staff and they made it to where everyone benefited from the groups. Individual counseling was great because they really made you work and go places that you may not have wanted to go but they knew that it would help you. I just can really not say enough good things about the program. I thank everyone for helping me get my life back because I know in part to my hard work and accountability for getting where I am today it would not have been possible without the help of all of you as well. read more

This place will do anything to keep people against their will. They will lie to their clients loved ones and use them to manipulate their clients into staying when they really want to leave. This place was described like a Spa with "90 % of withdrawal symptoms controlled". I'd say 30% was more accurate. So expect to feel every bit of 70% of your withdrawal symptoms. My marriage was exploited. I was forced to remove my husband from my contact list because they literally called him every day. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

Aside from being in awe with the breathtaking views that surround this center you will be equally impressed with the attention to detail and care that you will receive while being here. The first people that I came in contact with was the medical director and I had gone through an addiction evaluation so that they could properly treat me and determine if I did in fact need a medically supervised detox. From that point you are ready to start working on yourself. I found it to be so peaceful here that it really brought some much needed clarity to my life so that I could begin to not push aside lifelong issues I had been setting aside for so long. There is a great workout area here and they help you to understand that in order to both mentally and emotionally prepared to begin the treatment process you have to get physically well also. It's all about finding balance. It like if you have a bad day, it is not just effecting you while you are at work it is ruing your whole day and controlling your every being until you resolve the issue and find clarity for the upset. You can not lead a fulfilling life and get clean and sober if one area of your life is off balance and you are just focusing on one area when there are about 4 different areas to work on. There are many different forms of treatment here that make it such a well rounded program for assisting people from all walks of life. They have Holistic based groups if you are not geared towards a particular faith, or they have faith based programs as well if you do entertain a particular faith. The best track for me that I enjoyed while being here was the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I never was good at accepting things the way they were and learning from it and I always always was thinking negatively. I was angry, I always thought that I was the victim and I was angry. I let the way others thought about me control my life and my mood instead of following my own path and not letting negative outcomes control my every being. You become powerless to what is going on. You are a victim to your own self and this type of track helps you to respond to behavior in a positive and effective manor. It sounds cliche, but I have worked so hard during my stay here and with all the approaches that they have to treatment here they have helped me to become the best version of myself. I am working, I have goals that I am so excited to achieve and I am enrolled back i school. I have a purpose and a clear understanding of what needs to be done for me to remain clean and sober in the years to come. read more

I've read some of the reviews for A Forever Recovery and I just don't agree. We sent our daughter there because she became addicted to methamphetamine. We didn't know what to do and called a referral service. That service suggested we send our daughter to AFR because of the way they treat addiction there. With the different programs they have our daughter could figure out what worked best for her once she was done detoxing. We dropped her off when she first got there and the building is really nice and comfortable. The staff were really great during her intake and answered all of our questions. I also went to visit her midway through the program and she'd improved so much in the time she'd been there. She's was happier and enjoying life again. After finishing her program she did have to go back 6 months later because she'd relapsed. That was 8 months ago and she's still sober. Going through the program at AFR gave our daughter her future back and I'm very happy with the facility. read more

It is a great program to help you get free from drugs, There are many people who think that because they have an addiction to drugs that they can not ever become more than a drug addict, but the reality of the matter is that if they choose to live a life of sobriety they can have even more than imagined. The life without drug addiction is obtainable if you are willing to put forth the effort to commit to a program and finish it. You can have a life without drug addiction with AFR. The staff is caring and they work really hard to help you get to the main goal you are trying to achieve. They will help you get the tools you need to live a life after you walk out of the doors.
