    Salmon Gin Nigiri
    Annette R.

Im going to start by saying, this is NOT a Michelin star restaurant as I have read in previous reviews, it is Michelin Guide recommended which is way different! Meaning a Michelin inspector's favorite for good value. The service and quality of the food cannot be compared to a restaurant with stars. With that said, we really enjoyed the whole experience. We didn't had a reservation but the host was so helpful that she accommodate us at the bar seats. It was our first time at the restaurant so the server guided us through the menu and also gave us pretty good suggestions. We are huge fans of nigiris so I think we ordered practically all of them in the menu. My favorites were Salmon Gin and Canned Tuna, both creative and beautifully presented. We also had the Tom Yum Chicken Sticks a cool twist for the Tom Yum soup, the spring rolls, the prawn dumplings and the Korean BBQ beef, which was a little hard for my taste. Overall good food and great service.

Michelin star What an amazing meal. Was able to walk right in as a solo and sit at the bar but if you're a couple or more for sure get a reservation because the space is quite small. Incredible service. They made sure I was taken care of from start to finish and the food was fantastic. I'd skip the crab salad if I were to do it again but only because I'd get two portions of the beef tenderloin. Some of the best bites of beef I've had in a long time. Highly recommend if you're feeling a tapas/sushi spot. Yes yes yes!!!

Flaming sake salmon and a noodle box. Delish!!

Stumbled upon this Asian Fusion restaurant while exploring Amsterdam. Lucky to be squeezed in without a reservation for four on a Friday night with the stipulation that we just had one hour. Grabbed a menu and a paper slip to order. So thankful that our waiter was either able to modify our orders or suggest other options for a shellfish and pork free dining experience. Presentations were so creative. The vegetarian udon noodles served flowing from a noodle box dish were so flavorful. The steamed sea bass served in a seashell propped up in a sea of salt was fantastic. The ginger and soy sauce complimented the fish without overpowering it. Love, love, love the Tom Yum Chicken Sticks. The crispy fried rolls were filled with the most delicious Thai red curry chicken and served with a bottle of Tom Yum dressing. They need to bottle and sell the sauce. So good! Nice how they accommodated our dietary restrictions for the flaming sake roll. The flambéed salmon with avocado and cucumber was incredible. Our friends also got the lamb chops with were torched to perfection table-side. Fun to also watch the chef torch other specialties and fusion rolls. Special sushi rolls can be ordered with four or eight pieces. This allows your party to sample more options. A+ for A-Fusion. A delicious Asian inspired meal in Amsterdam.

Somewhere between canals and cravings, found our way to Asian food at A-Fusion. Total comfort food. Vibey and trendy atmosphere and staff are friendly coming in with recommendations from the menu.

I had no idea this place had a Michelin Star until I read some of the reviews... well, that is not what I expected from a michelin star. They have beautiful presentations when it comes to their food, but they need to focus on the food itself. The only thing on the menu that I was pleased with was the sticky korean chicken! That was DELICIOUS, but everything else lacked flavor especially the salad. I'd give it a try at another location, but I was very disappointed with my visit.

I was so excited to see a Michelin Star restaurant in Amsterdam. The window is impressive Michelin Stars awarded in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 22 and a view of Sushi chefs hard at work. IMO...that's where it ends. I was able to get a table on Sunday night at 8:45. Upon arriving, we were told we could only have the table for an hour. Ok, they close at 10, I get it, but Michelin Stars are about excellent service and high quality food and in a country where I just learned that if you don't ask for the check they'll let you sit forever, so it seemed like an odd request, especially after I heard people complaining it was taking forever for their food. Ok... let's start with service. You get a menu, a piece of paper and a pencil. Check off the boxes next to the dishes and sushi you want, and someone will come by and pick up the paper. Tables are so close together that every time a server bought a dish to the table behind me or next to me, not only did they bump into my chair, one time they actually reached in front of me to pick up the order from the table next to me! No excuse me, no I'm sorry. This happened 4 different times. Now the food... honestly, absolutely nothing special. We are spoiled with really good and creative sushi in the states. The rolls we ordered were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Dumplings were bland and a bit overcooked. Singapore Prawns were beautifully presented and I was hoping this would be the dish that wowed me, but it wasn't. I was expecting a pop of curry or even a chili garlic but neither was in the dish... just shrimp covered in some type of sauce. We didn't need the full hour they requested... we couldn't wait to get out of there.

Service was solid and inside was pretty tight. The food was good but not great. The steamed sea bass was cooked well but didn't have much flavor or seasoning. The butterfly shrimp had a nice fry to it but again nothing really beyond that.

*We didn't try any of the sushi* that being said, we tried almost everything else on the menu! This place is absolutely amazing! Best Asian fusion food I've ever had! The ambiance is great, place is a little small, but most every place is in Amsterdam... We sat at the bar, the food is incredible and the service was friendly and fast, everything was perfect! This is a small share plate style place, not a large dish that you eat all yourself, order as much as you can, you won't regret it! I wouldn't pay any attention to any of the negative reviews, honestly, if you didn't like this place, you probably shouldn't be going out to eat...

Everything we had was good. Not sure why it has so many Michelin stars, I'm not I'd say it's that level of good- unless this type of food is hard to find in Amsterdam? If you're craving Asian- go for it!

Great service and delicious food. Beautiful cozy place. Reservation is highly recommended. But they do take walk-in if you can get there right around 4pm.

Good ambience, we were seated right away and served fairly quickly. Decent sake, decent food. Nothing special but good for a quick date night while in Amsterdam.

A-Fusion offers a pleasant ambiance in a prime location. While the food took a bit longer to arrive between dishes, the delicious sushi and overall fun experience make it a worthwhile choice.

Authentic Dim Sum in the Heart of Amsterdam If you are looking for authentic Chinese flavors near…read morethe Red Light District/Chinatown, Oriental City is the place to go. It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

It seems like they properly used woks and the right high-heat temperatures for cooking and everything was made fresh rather than made from manufactured / pre-prepared food! - Shrimp rice roll - the rice roll is thick and has a nice chew, shrimp was nice and nearly wrapped into the center of each piece - Chow fun - solid chewy texture , could have had more beef but good amount of oil, some of the noodles clumped together and were undercooked but the dish was still very tasty - Veggies - really nice! mushrooms were flavorful and cooked all the way through and other veggies had decent flavor / texture too, timed the cooking right so they weren't overly mushy or crunchy

Their menu is impressively large and the dining room is small but inviting. Prices are quite high, but you are in a tourist area. We ordered a Kung pao chicken and a chicken fried rice to share. We both had a very weird 'chemical' taste that would occasionally occur with the Kung pao but neither of us could figure out what it was. The chicken fried rice was fine but contained very little chicken. My house white wine at 4.5 was fine as well as hubby had a Heineken. The biggest issue was the many Gnats that just descended on us once our wine arrived. If you zoom in on the picture, there were quite a few just hanging out after our plate we removed. We have been to many restaurants since we arrived here and this is the first with this issue. It got even worse once our food arrived. Very irritating. Service was just ok. We were here at a weird time because we are very jet lagged and trying to get on the time zone (needed dinner early). The staff were having their dinner so we felt a bit of a nuisance. Bill was about 50 euro.
