I travel to Branchville on business twice a month and eat at AG at least once every trip. I'm from Connecticut and have strong opinions on pizza. AG is significantly better than your average local pizza place. Ingredients are fresh and their oven does a good job. Always lots of options for buying by the slice. I ordered a pizza with sausage, pepperoni, onions and mushrooms. I'm very glad I checked the pie before driving home. instead of mushrooms (that was correct on the receipt) the pizza cook put peppers. The counter staff was polite and friendly, top notch. However this is the second time peppers were used instead of properly making the pizza I ordered. last time, the same cook gave me peppers instead of pepperoni. Another 1 star review. I'm hungry and it's 7pm. I stop into A&G not because I want but because it's close to home and I don't want to drive far. I sit down and watch my waitress walk by me 6 time without asking me if I'd like a menu. Nothing. I sat there for over 10 minutes and no response from the waitress. Sad to report that since they've passed their most recent BOH infraction, their food has significantly declined! My birthday dinner tonight, served on a "hoagie roll" was either stale as could be or nuked during the process. Literally have lacerations in my mouth after consuming 1/4th of the sub. My husband's pizza was way undercooked and the only game in town is on a steep decline. My recommendation is to check out Mountain House or Carriage House instead! Buy please do come for a visit! Branchville NJ is the sweetest little town in the state with lots of Christmas tree farms, fresh produce, horticulture and hometown love! Don't miss Jersey Girl Cheese farm!!! Wow, what a difference a year makes. In April of 2024, I gave A&G Pizza a 1-star review after ownership had changed post-covid and the pizza quality took an extreme nosedive. I'm very happy to report the exact opposite now. I've eaten here a few times recently, and the pizza is once again top notch. I've always really enjoyed thin pizza oozing with flavor, and that is what these guys are doing well again. Delicious dough and crust too. There was also a recent remodel of the place. The tables, floors, walls, etc. have all been upgraded. Very nicely done. My only gripe preventing me from going for 5 stars - and this might just be me and my family - but we don't like being forced in close proximity to a large flat screen TV. The news was on during our most recent visit, and it's nothing I want to see or hear while taking in a meal, especially given the location of the tables and the size of the screen. We have young kids who I'd also prefer to focus on their family and food while eating, rather than the splatter of news media. The staff was kind enough to switch it off (no other patrons were around), but it's absolutely a factor for us and will prevent us from going more often. 4/5 stars. If TV isn't an issue for you, you'll definitely enjoy the food and experience. Also, the Brooklyn wrap is excellent. read more

Horrible. Quality of food went down since the place was sold. The chicken parm is made with frozen chicken patties. Mozzarella cheese is low quality. Food is simply Horrible. Haven't been since it changed hands and got the usual grilled chicken salad lunch special. It increased from $7-8 dollars to $12.50 in the 6 months since I've been. Won't be going back. The only reason it's getting 2 stars is because the food is fairly good. read more

The special is special food wise. The ambiance is cold so in the dining area but the service is good.

Ben going here a few years and definitely changed when owners switched. Prices went up and the quality went down. Eggplant parm sandwiches is now all bread with barely any eggplant. I'm from New York and let's face it- we do have the best pizza in the country haha But this place was really good! I was camping nearby at Kymer's- and got up to the area late with my friend on a Friday night and wanted to get some food. She suggested this pizza place because she's had it before- so we stopped in. Ordered a pie to go. The service was great. Very fast service and very pleasant people working there. Very reasonable prices as well. They also have a little bar area which some people were at and lots of tables inside to sit and eat at. The pizza was excellent and still really hot by the time we got to our camping site. There are two entrances to this spot though- the pizza entrance is in the back. They have a cool little water fountain with fish in it out there too. There is parking there as well which is always helpful. I definitely recommend this spot for some good pizza! read more

Just picked up what AG sold as a full size sausage ,pepper and onion sub for 7.50. what a total disappointment. My wife and I usually split one sub for lunch. This thing was 6 inches for the 7.50 with maybe a link and a half of sausage. We both agreed that the taste was bland and spices were mostly absent from the little sub. We all got hit with a wallop at the exact same time. Missed the toilet and diarrhea went all over. Never ever again. Should of know from the start. Sauce was sugary, sausage was pink inside and bread was stale. Some fell on the floor and my dog ran away from it. Used to go here a lot for pizza. Guess that's not happening anymore. A G's is my family's place of choice for take out on a Friday night when no one feels like cooking. Decent pizza, garlicky pasta dishes, and a chicken parm sandwich that is my personal favorite in the area. It's cheap and super convenient (the other location is right off route 15 in Lafayette). They deliver too. I wouldn't recommend eating in, because there is a bar inside and it tends to attract a slightly less than desirable crowd. We are long-time customers which is why I overlook them consistently preparing my food without masks on since Covid. However, the food was underwhelming tonight. Pasta was overcooked and vodka sauce was watery and tasteless. Hoping this was an isolated incident. In all fairness, the food is usually spot on and delicious. My parent's have a seasonal camper in Branchville. This was always their go-to for years before I started spending my weekends up there. Whenever my Mom would come home for the week, she would always grab me a calzone from here. It was my absolute favorite-and still is! The small is enough to food 2 people, I can't imagine the large. It re-heats great so I get a great dinner and a lunch the next day. My boyfriend and I are regulars here now when we're in the area since we live close by. I always get my calzone, and he always gets his pizza and we are never dissapointed. Their honey mustard is my favorite! I mentioned it one time and the waitress gave me so many to go. Typical pizza/Italian place that I've been coming to for probably over 15 years. Price has been going up but so has every other pizza place. I love the pizza. At times the sauce is a little watery which I can see some people not liking. Either way it's a little different than other places but good in its own right. I've also had the cheeseburger (surprisingly good), the steak and cheese(very good) and all the calzones are good as well - I always ask for no ricotta, but that's just me. Fries are the classic fries u get anywhere else. They have good side salads. You can also order large pasta dishes a few days ahead for a party. They're always really good. Small bar that's often full if u wanna stop in for a drink. Never really gets rowdy or anything so if u wanna eat in with a family there's no problems with that. The only complaint is on Friday nights it's insanely busy. You might have to wait if u call in or when u pick up your order. Lastly, I'd recommend trying the place as I know they have given a lot of support to the local community organizations. Long review, but I've been coming here for a long time. That is all. read more

I ordered 3 items one of which was a large ham broccoli and tomato calzone. 45 min later when my order arrived I received a pizza with ham broccoli and tomatoes. I called and they did NOTHInG to remedy the situation. The man on the phone said "well they wrote down pizza" did not have any concern that my order was wrong or that I was willing to pay to have the right order delivered. I fear I was charged for a calzone and received a pizza. Pizza was okay but customer service is seriously lacking. driving through town and making a pitstop for some food with my husband and 4 kids...... being from Brooklyn/Staten island, i know whatgood pizza is. I was blown away by the freshness of the sauce, its flavor and the texture of the dough, flawless! we also ordered a chicken cutlet hero that was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and a great crispy consistency.
