Came up to buy something from Marketplace and not familiar with the area, But past reviews urged my intuition and the review from 13 days ago really sold me. First, the place is spotless Clean! Impressive, it smells like my Dad's pizzeria, the faint smell of Dough rising and clean counters From the moment that I bit into the crust of their Plain Slice, I Could Tell. My Dad had his own pizza place many moons ago and I'm sort of "picky" with how the crust and the sauce Melds into one another. The crust is almost Buttery and airy where you're in heaven for a Brief second as you bite in and Close your eyes to Savor the moment. We ordered a regular cheesesteak hoagie fried onions, lettuce, tomato and pepperoncini on the Side! Also, an order of pizza fries, light in the sauce! This meal totally Hit the Spot! My Mom took the road trip with me and Trust me.... She is Picky but also gives her Honest opinion. She is My Treasure and I value her input. Especially when it comes to Food. Lol. When we arrived at the counter, practically everyone greeted us and was Super nice. The food is delicious and we Left happy and with Full Bellies! Just stumbled upon this restaurant on my way back to Pennsylvania. Thought it was going to be a regular pizzeria, turned out to be a nice restaurant. We enjoyed hearing them talk to locals by first name and they were very attentive in re-fills of our drinks and boxing up our leftovers to go. But the pizza just wasn't all that good. We ordered a pizza with eggplant, chicken and peppers. While I liked that there was a mountain of toppings on it, they simply lacked flavor. Every topping tasted exactly the same. And the cheese also overwhelmed everything. It's not something I say often, but the pizza definitely could've used more grease. I have been eating at this place since I was little. I haven't been to the new spot yet but I am sure it's just as great as the last. Their menu is your typical pizzeria and super simple. Easy to just pop in with friends or even children to grab a quick slice of pizza to eat. Hands down this place has the absolute best subs, best baked ziti and best pizza in the area by far. Friendly people work there who always remember you when you walk in which creates a nice environment. Their tomato sauce is to so sweet which makes anything with sauce on it great. The prices are extremely decent for the amount of food you get and every time I have gone their my order was exactly as ordered. Only downside is there is no delivery but it's worth the drive for sure. Will continue eating here for many more years to come! read more

We're just in town for a few days and googled restaurants and Newton Pizza popped up and I am SO GLAD that it did. We're from the DC area and I've never had such wonderful service. Miss Denise was so good with my 2 year old. We felt so cared for and a part of a family! Like, where else do you feel like that for a 15 minute meal?? On top of that, the pizza is EXCELLENT. The bottom is nice and crisp (no soggy bottoms here!) and the toppings are fresh, bright and so so good. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not stop by Newton Pizza. Good food, but terrible Covid precautions. Everyone wears a mask EXCEPT the person making the pizza uses the mask as a chin diaper. When asked why the person handling the food didn't have his mask over his nose and mouth, I was told he doesn't wear it up because he opens the hot oven... he wasn't in front of the oven - he was making a pizza. When I am In the mood for pizza locally, this is my go to spot. The pizza is never overcooked or undercooked. The sauce to cheese to dough ratios are perfect and the recipe works. The quality of ingredients are high, and you can tell that ownership has been making pizza for a long time. Not only has he mastered his craft, but all his employees have been trained properly as well. But pizza is not the only thing he does well here. His chicken parmigiana sandwich is spot on, his salads are generous and always fresh! The place is always clean, the staff are super friendly and polite, and prices are more than fair! I was in the area and told that this is a great pizza place -for sure it is! I got a cheese pizza, and it was some of the best classic pizza I have ever had. The prices were so reasonable for good quality pizza, about $12 for a normal sized cheese pizza. The tomato sauce and cheese were on par, and the dough was so tasty -none of that thick or super thin crust pizza. It was soft and doughy and delicious. They have a few tables inside for dining in, but it seems like most people order take out. When you're at the cash register, you can see them making the pizza behind the counter. I saw my pizza come straight out of the oven and into the box -hot and fresh out of the oven! Newton Pizza is a local and family-owned place where the staff know their frequent customers by name. Their menu seemed pretty extensive; besides pizza, they also have subs, pasta, and other Italian dishes. There is a small town, friendly feel of the atmosphere here. Cowabunga, dude!! Newton Pizza is the best 'za in town (i.e. best in a 25-minute radius). They do a mean onion pie, and a meaner classic. I don't like to use the word "plain" because it's a disservice. Classic. Newton Pizza is a cozy little place with ample parking and friendly owners/staff. Really enjoy the taste of their sauce. Some pizza places add sugar, which I do not think tastes good at all. Runners up are A&G Pizza and Villa Capri. read more

Because I have loved this pizzeria for a long time (and it's close to my house), I have been back a few times, and will probably give it a least a couple more tries. However, it looks suspiciously like the magic is gone. There's nothing wrong with Newton Pizza nowadays. It's perfectly serviceable pizzeria, and the new folks running the place seem perfectly nice. But the crusts are a little thicker and a little tougher, and the pies just don't bring the same magic to your mouth. read more

Today i went to newton pizza for a quick impromptu lunch between jobs. I don't know the area but I wanted a quick grilled chicken salad. The owner was super nice. Explained what they put on their salads, and added extra red peppers and green and Black olives and shredded mozzarella cheese , just like I asked for. When I requested bread , I got an entire large roll , sliced , with butter squares , too. All this for $10. Amazing in these times. It was a huge salad. And absolutely delicious. In Newton for a show at the theater. Read the rave reviews and decided to try them out. My wife and I opted for a couple slices of their belly buster pizza and a Pepperoni roll. Pizza was top notch and watched as the pick up pizza was flying out the door. Pepperoni roll was amazing stuffed to the gills with Mozz and Pepperoni and a lovely red sauce. While eating. We were able to watch them create the most amazing looking Italian. Sub. I told my wife there was no way I could walk away from a sub like that.So I ordered one to go.They individually sliced the meat and cheese for each one. Best thing is, I'm from Maryland . The young lady remembered me calling to inquire and said she was expecting me. Could not have been friendlier. Hey folks. The food is pretty good but more often than not they don't have things to fill my order, which is disappointing. On one occasion, I ran in to pick up an order and one of the men behind the counter started to scold and yell at one of the girls that was working for asking a question...I found it very unprofessional and awkward. The last time that my husband called in an order he got an attitude for saying he'd call a different place since they didn't have what we wanted. The pizza was delicious! To be honest, a star should be knocked off because we ordered a mushroom pie, and the mushrooms were pickled. That's a huge no-no for pizza. If you don't have fresh mushrooms, don't offer mushrooms as a topping. The pickling gives the pizza an off flavor, but even with that, it was delicious. They redeemed themselves with the calzone. It's the best calzone we've tried since moving to New Jersey. When we picked up the food, I noticed that the restaurant is super CLEAN. This is so important to me. A woman was cleaning up the place the whole time while we waited, even though it already looked clean and tidy. It was an off hour, so the place was empty and she wasn't getting in the way. It's a cozy, local joint, so I imagine it's nice to eat in, too. Also, it's family owned. I got the impression that everyone working there was part of the family, so they really care about their food and service. They were very friendly. If we lived closer, we would be regulars.
