He explains every thing in detail, even quizzing me to make sure I understood why I needed surgery and what the fusion surgery will entail. HSS is top of the line, with the newest medical treatments, I knew I was in great hands. Also, I was happy to know that although he was now my doctor, he was also my surgeon. I remember him calling me after a night of me crying, not knowing what to expect. Is it going to hurt? He told me just calm down have a drink and relax, you will be fine, don't worry. Things like that I really appreciated, I know he is super busy and he took time out of his evening to give me a call to finalize what the tests showed, and calm my nerves. If a hospital experience could be excellent, well then this one was... Everything was absolutely perfect. The hospital was clean, the staff was super friendly and accomodating, it is definitely one of the top rated hospitals in america. Although I was so nervous before surgery, I just remember Dr. Levine telling the anesthesiologist, give her a little cocktail. Next thing I remember I woke up and the surgery was over with! Dr. Levine's staff was super helpful. I knew I was being a pain in the butt when I had a million questions, but they were all very accomodating, especially Daisy. She returned all of my phone calls, emails and got me all the paperwork etc I needed. We had some good laughs and because of her pleasant, professional demeanor, she made the whole experience very easy. My months of follow up visits went well, he encouraged me each and every time and I progressed just as he said I would. My physical therapists were impressed and all said your doctor is amazing. My final visit was sad, although it was closure, Now I am on my own. He did his part, the therapists did theirs and now I walk great! His final words were keep in touch. I had two failed surgeries before this and had a limp. Couldn't walk longer than 20 minutes without feeling extreme pain and inflammation. I needed complicated revision surgery - a big toe fusion with two places of fusion instead of one. This surgery also required taking out existing hardware, using a bone graft from the heel and bone marrow from the hip, and even using some cadaver bone (amazing that one can do that! I am also writing a letter of gratitude for the organ donors). The surgery went very well and everything is healing wonderfully. Even two weeks after the surgery, while recovering, i was already in much less pain than i was for ten years prior. I am 6 weeks into recovery and feeling great so far. It will only get better from here. For now I'm just trying to be a "patient patent" and wait until everything fully heals but it looks like soon I will be able to walk without pain. Upon meeting Dr. Goldstein I was convinced that surgery could be minimally invasive and solve my problem. A few weeks later I was done. Dr. Goldstein is a professional surgeon in every sense. I had a thorough screening before ever deciding to do the surgery. Dr. Goldstein and his staff never pressured me one way or another, just made sure I had all the information I could need. The day of the surgery was quick and easy. I was back home 5 hours after I went in. And other than typical post-op pains, I have been almost completely pain free since then. It's like being reborn.

This is a probably an unusual thing to say about getting surgery but I had a GREAT experience…read moreregarding my shoulder surgery and bicep tenodesis with Dr. Feldman. I have been active for most of my life - distance runner and swimmer for the last 15 years - but I started doing less and less over the last few years as I noticed I was losing mobility in my right shoulder. I worked around it by changing my work out routines, eventually just cycling so I wouldnt aggravate my shoulder... but then I noticed I was having trouble picking my arm up overhead to change my clothes. I'm 27 and still wanted to go back to swimming, so this clearly was not ideal. My consult with Dr. Feldman was short and sweet: if you want your lifestyle back, surgery is the way to go. He certainly didn't push for surgery, he asked me about my expectations and laid out the options for me. I scheduled my surgery for literally the following week. The whole experience was so efficient, especially at the hospital itself. The NYU staff were all so friendly and attentive to detail, the place was pristine, the surgery was on time and my fiance (who was so worried in the waiting room) told me that all the hospital staff were so kind and let him know how I was doing the whole time. I was so nervous in the operating room but everyone there was great and put me at ease. I had three follow ups with Dr. Feldman post-op: at 1 week, 6 weeks, and 4 months. All of them went by quick. At week 1, I had my stitches taken out and got the go ahead to start PT. At 6 weeks, Dr. Feldman evaluated my progress - I was exactly where I should be at that point, based on the PT program he gave me. At 4 months, I was discharged because I am fully recovered and have regained full, pre-injury mobility. I was in a sling for the first 4 weeks, then I was doing PT 2-3x a week for 12 weeks before going down to 1x a week. I've been swimming since 12 weeks post-op and building my strength back up. You'd be surprised how much your muscles atrophy after just a few DAYS immobilized in a sling... so PT early and often is key. Anyway, overall I've had no complications during recovery and for a major surgery, I've had an incredibly smooth recovery process. I would highly recommend Dr. Feldman to anyone considering shoulder surgery. And I want to shout out his entire team, because we are only as good as our supporting cast. A lot of reviews cite the rudeness of him and his office staff but I think they're all doing amazing work. I haven't had a single poor experience with anyone there, they actually went above and beyond all my expectations. Mo was in constant communication, coordinated with my lovely fiance to pick up the ice machine, even helped us with the process of submitting a claim for it to the insurance company. The woman at the front desk is super efficient despite being swamped all the time. When I was scheduling my last follow up, I asked if they could call me the day before to remind me, she was honest and said its probably going to be too busy for her to do that but she can give me an appointment card. I honestly had such a seamless experience with Dr. Feldman, the only thing is that the wait times in the office can tend to be slightly long... like varies between 10 minutes to an hour because he does spend the appropriate time with you to evaluate you and your progress. I am soooooo grateful that Dr. Feldman is even in-network with my insurance. Most people don't appreciate how little the doctor gets paid out through your insurance and are then appalled that they're "rushed" through his office. I've been to doctors offices where doctors speed patients through conveyor belts so they can make as much money as possible, and this ain't it. I think, in total, he was paid like $900 after adjustments from my insurance?! For all his expertise and time, and how much love/care he put into my surgery, that's just insane. I hope the NYU network compensates Dr. Feldman appropriately because he's amazing and they do not want to lose him. TLDR: I really hope to never need shoulder surgery again, but I'll definitely come back if I do.

He is no nonsense, talks straight and is very skilled and masterful. The office staff are helpful and everything about my diagnosis, surgery and post op visits has been excellent. I have recommended him to friends in need of an orthopedist and they have been happy with their results. Don't look any further. He is the absolute best at what he does.
