I came to hear about Justin's massage therapy service through a highly respected chiropractor. The…read morechiropractor recommended that I see Justin or one other massage therapist to help deal with an ongoing shoulder, neck and face pain issue that was not getting better with chiropractic adjustments alone. I decided to go with Justin because of the convenience of his location. I have to say I was a little hesitant at first as I had never gone to a male massage therapist before. My hesitance about his gender disappeared upon meeting him. He is professional in every way and truly outstanding massage therapist. Justin gives general Swedish type massages as well as trigger point massages. In my case he primarily did trigger point massage to targeted my specific issue. After the first massage I felt some relief from my neck and shoulder pain however the intense pain returned within a few days. I returned to see Justin the next week and after working on me he told me that between visits I could use a $2 lacrosse ball to work out the kinks. The lacrosse ball worked, however I found that I had to use it multiple times a day to keep the pain under control. On my third visit, Justin had me do various holds with my body to help him identify what muscles in my body were likely weak and what movements and holds triggered my pain. After his evaluation he asked me if I would be interested in learning about targeted exercises and stretches that would likely strengthen my weak muscles and allow my overused muscles to relax. I was relieved to say the least to hear that there was hope for me to get rid of the pain. I am a floor nurse that does a lot of heavy patient lifting and I beginning to wonder if I was going to have to stop working on the floor as the pain was getting in the way of my work. On my next visit after my massage, Justin presented me with a game plan. He had typed on paper the exercise and stretches as well as a schedule of how many and often I should be doing them. He demonstrated the exercises and stretches for me to do and had me return the demonstration. Since then I have been following the plan religiously and am thrilled to say that my neck, shoulder and face pain have decreased to the point where I seldom experience any. I go to Justin now for tune ups and on an as needed basis for other issues as they arise. I am very grateful to you Justin. The first accident was in 2006 and the second, 2013. I've seen three different chiropractors in my lifetime. I received two certificates as gifts for a massage for Doctor Elder's office. It's been at least four years since I've had these certificates and because I'm no longer residing in Lancaster, I have not redeem them. Doctor Elder explained that they will still be honored, which is great. Doctor Elder's demeanor was so positive and professional, I decided to explain what happened with both accidents and explain my region of pain. I also asked him some questions relating to different techniques each chiropractor uses, as the three I've received treatment from have been completely different from one another. This was after him looking up another Chiropractor in my area and explaining how the consultation would go. I regret that I cannot see Doctor Elder regularly, because of the location conflict. He was so kind, patient and insightful effortlessly. I really appreciate him providing me with as much information as possible, especially knowing there was no benefit to him financially. I'm a very intuitive person and Doctor Elder is a genuine person who sincerely wants to help people. He even encourage that I call back once I meet with a chiropractor in my area to ask any questions I may have at that time, or to provide his expertise on any concerns I may have.
