He should've refunded my $250 deposit at the moment like any other company would've but I'm still waiting for my refund. Do not use this company, they are unprofessional. These guys were great!! And charming, and handsome to boot!! Tables are so FUN!!! Super popular all night - we had roulette, craps, and blackjack and all were busy - the guests had a GREAT time!! And... they knew our space was smaller - 400 sq feet is the minimum and we had just about that - so they brought their mini-craps table, which was 6' instead of the usual 8' These are not professional dealers - they said "we like to take great personalities and turn them into great dealers" and I think that's a great approach! Setup and breakdown were all very professional and well-handled. They left before the party broke up and didn't get in the way of the guests. They also were willing - on site - to stay an extra hour because the guests were so into the casino night. Super flexible, super friendly, and made for a really HOT PARTY, just like they said!! [PART 1]You know I really, really wish that I could give these people 0 stars but due to the fact that yelp has one star as its lowest rating that's all they're going to get because this company is a FUCKING SCAM. I honestly don't even know where to start with this review but one thing I do know is this is going to have to be a two-part maybe three-part review because of yelps 1500 character limit and there's to much stuff to write for one review to suffice, but I guess I'm going to start with the fact that we spent $13,000 for NOTHING but just to get robbed &have a contract that we signed with this company &THEY BROKE. Let me also just start off with saying with paying $13,000, We should have not expected to lift a finger for the set up for my Halloween party but yet here I was at 9am buying props to include into the supposedly haunted house that this guy Spencer was to create. Also you would think spending that much money if the client asked for you to come at least a week or two before it is the actual event is supposed to take place, so that way we could have a walk-through, incase changes needed to be made, some accommodations would be made to do so, being that Spencer lives 25 to 30 minutes away from where it is that we currently live. Spencer from A Hot Party is a saint and a scholar. He went above and beyond the party call of duty and I am eternally grateful. You would be hard pressed to find a man more gracious or helpful. Also, he has the voice of a baby canary. The only thing more soothing than his dulcet tones is his cheery disposition. Having a party? Call Spencer. Planning an event? Call Spencer. I normally use a very professional company I have used over and over again for my conventions but I had put someone else in one of our sister companies in charge of hiring the casino nights entertainment for our convention and I have to say it was a huge mistake. It was a bit less to use A HOT PARTY but the equipment they brought to our convention looked like it was put together with Elmer's glue. The table look horrible and old, the staff was not friendly, no chair provided for any of the tables. I could go on and on but all I can advise anyone reading this to not use this company. One piece of advice don't always plan event and choice a cheaper person because you get what you pay for. read more

This the 2nd time I've use A Hot Party .On August 22nd 2020 my Princess 4th birthday was a huge hit with Mermaid Kathy . We kept her an extra 1 because it was worth it.My toddler never swim in pool she is always by the step because she was afraid, with swimming classes no help BUT Mermaid Kathy made a huge impact in our lives, because of her my 4 years old is now swimming all over the pool. We couldn't believe when she started going after Mermaid Kathy !Spencer and his team did an fantastic job... My daughter include the kids that was invited was beyond excited.. Now they believe in mermaids. It was worth every penny...The mermaid did a great job.. She swim , went under the water , swim with a child on her back .. I enjoyed it myself as well.. I was working closely with Spencer for our company holiday party and we were putting together a Casino Night 'James Bond' theme. While the overall turn out of the party was successful with all vendors included, here is our feedback on Spencer's services specifically: He provided the James Bond dance routine, props and lighting to fit the theme, two LED Robot guys on stilts, a "living table" lady and a life size cake that a dancer pop out of. However, there were some disappointing attributes to his services: * One of the two oversize gold-gun-prop that we paid $500 for had a broken piece. Also, the lights didn't give us the wow-factor we were expecting. * Spencer and another dancer were also seen practicing their dance routine in front of guests as they entered the party. We also requested 45 minutes of greeting and Party-hype performances, but we were cut short with time on that. * Spencer also failed to let us know that he would be doing multiple performances but yet charging us per person. Although he did say he was one of the dancers performing a 'James Bond' routine (which was not impressive and lasted maybe 2 two minutes), he failed to let us know he would be one of the two LED Robot Guys walking on stilts. Per our contract, he made us believe that we were getting individuals doing one job each routine. * While the crew was to be dressed 'incognito' with our crowd, one of the crew members showed up in sandals and wore them the entire night - this did not fit our strict dress code. Now that we have our pictures back, the crew member is in many shots with "his sandals" and taking pictures. This gentlemen and Spencer were also easily seen video recording the other dancers doing their performances which looked extremely unprofessional. * After seeing the charges of what we asked for it appears as though we were ripped off, thus bringing us to feel disappointed in choosing this vendor. At one point I asked for a red carpet, and he said he had one 10 feet x 3 feet red carpet and red-rope for $150, when I easily found another vendor who provided 3 25-foot-long by 4-feet-wide red carpet for less than $200. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They were very difficult to reach at the beginning and to make arrangements with. I should have know then that this would end up being a disaster. Amber was pleasant though and did eventually follow through. I asked for a mermaid with a silicone tail for my 9 year old daughters birthday party. They quoted me $450 for one hour with the mermaid. I explained that the price was steep and that the time was too short. With 12 little girls swimming, an hour would be here and gone before everyone had a chance to interact with her. They then said $550 for two hours and I signed the contract and gave a deposit. I asked for them to send me pictures of available mermaids so I could choose the one we wanted to have at the party. I made my selection from approximately 6 pictures that were sent to me of their available staff. The mermaid was scheduled to show up on the day of the event at 2:30 with her handler. The party began at 2 pm and was a catered surprise party. By 2:30 I had not heard from the mermaid and started to worry. I did a search on my texts using the word mermaid so I could find Amber's number and reach out to her. It was then that a spam text showed up from the mermaid, Caroline, who was supposed to come. She texted at 1pm but the text did not come through on my phone until I did the search. She stated that she was ill and had to cancel. She also stated that she reached out to the owner, Spencer, hours earlier to alert him and to try to find a replacement but that he never responded to her. I did not know who Spencer was at the time so I reached out to Amber and explained the situation. Meanwhile the party is going on and I am trying to entertain and also deal with this mess. Amber said that Spencer was at an event and probably didn't check his phone (which turns out to be a lie). Within about 15 mins Spencer calls me and says that he is going to work on finding a replacement. At this point it is about 2:50 and the party ends at 5 p.m. He then proceeds to tell me he was in the pool and didn't check his phone which is why he never saw the message from Caroline. After we hung up I texted Spencer and reminded him that I needed a mermaid with a silicone tail because this is the only thing my daughter dreamed about for her birthday. He attempted to find a replacement but could not. He suggested that we have a mermaid come the next day... (AS IF!!! I had the caterer there and a house full of kids and parents, how was I supposed to replicate that the next day? And as a party planner to even suggest such a ridiculous idea just goes to show his mentality) I explained that his company was unprofessional for not having a protocol in place when something like this happens and he began to get very nasty with me via text. I screen shot the texts so this interaction is transparent and I will find a review site that will allow me to post those. I also had to email them on Monday to request a refund. This should have been done immediately without me having to request it. I would not recommend this rude, unreliable and completely unprofessional company. My refund was finally processed and I am now comfortable sharing this information. They are actually lucky that I had a week to calm down otherwise this review would have been even worse. They completely ruined my daughters birthday party and they were not at all sympathetic about it. Spencer has zero business etiquette and even made it seem as if he was doing me, the paying customer a favor and explained that he sacrificed his Saturday to find me a replacement. As a business owner of a party planning company you should understand that you are working whenever there is an event, if you are not able or willing to do that, then you are in the wrong business. I don't know what kind of company wants to grow when you answer the phone screaming and insulting, Spencer, the individual who answered the phone sounds like he might be on drugs or something. I would not work here or do any events with them even if they gave me money. Be careful with this company, have had several clients for my events say they are not honest or upfront about cost, and aside from being hard to reach, attention to detail is minimal therefore the events were all a DISASTER ! I cannot express my displeasure with the professionalism of this company strongly enough. I recently hired them to provide the entertainment for my husband's 60th birthday party, complete with DJ, dancers, casino tables and a cigar roller. Prior to the event, Spencer and I discussed setting up the casino tables and DJ prior to the start time of the party at 6:00 pm, which Spencer denies ever took place. One dealer showed up at 6:00 pm and took an hour and a half to set up two tables while my guess were having cocktails. I later come to find out that the second dealer had never dealt blackjack before and this was his first night. His skills were non-existent and the other dealer was not much better. The dancers were contracted for 45 minutes. They danced for 25 minutes. The DJ was inattentive. The cigar roller was excellent but found out he was an independent contractor. I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere for your entertainment needs! read more
