I would NOT use this service again. They are very curt and assume you have all sorts of time to run errands for them. They also don't have a photographer on staff, so you have to do your own photos. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this place! My boyfriend and I are major slackers and waited till the last minute to get/renew our passports - royal pain in the rear! After a family member recommended this place we went on rainy Friday afternoon. Fast, friendly service, they said we would have our passports in 7 days - thats crazy! Keep in mind, if you have a few months they will be happy to help you but they are upfront about their costs on top of the normal passport costs. They are located right down the road from a fulton county so you can do all of your paper work in one day. Unfortunate experience with this company. We paid a great deal of money for the convenience. The UPS center in Doraville made the claim that our passports first were lost and then found but inadvertently damaged. So the UPS center decided that they needed to destroy and discard them. I've missed a day of work to untangle the mess. IVS filed a claim with UPS, which they agreed to pay, but it won't cover much of what we lost. Why this company would choose to ship passports UPS instead of FEDEX is unbelievable. I hate to say it, but I would recommend NOT using this company. If you do, demand that they use FEDEX instead of UPS. I am assuming they used UPS to cut their own costs. read more

I was supposed to take a trip to Istanbul. Unfortunately I forgot that my passport only had 3 months validity on it. You need I think 6 months to go to certain countries. So I was desperate! Went to these folks and paid $500 to get my passport overnight. To make a long story short, the passport pic that THEY took of me was rejected by the passport office in DC. So, subsequently, International Visa Services had to do it over, and I missed the first 2 days of my trip, had to pay around $600 to change my flight to be able to meet my friends. The "overly theatrical" owner tried to deny that the passport was delayed being processed because of their error. Liar!!!!! The official letter I got from the Government clearly stated that the passport pic was under - exposed. I.V.S advertises that they take passport pictures. So this type of error is unacceptable. And the lying g and trying to blame others for your error is shady and unprofessional. Bottom line! I paid the $500 to get me my passport by a certain time and they didn't. This error cost me another $600 and 2 days of my trip of a lifetime. They never offered a crefit, discount , partial refund or anything. They were able to get me my passport a full 2 days later. I'm like " Thanks, I guess". Oh, and I won't even get into the fact that the lady was so rude , hostile and aggressive at her office that I had to call the police. Take your chance! read more

I used IVS to renew my passport before a trip to Costa Rica. My passport was valid but about 2 weeks before my trip I discovered that in order to travel to Costa Rica your passport expiration must be greater than within 2 months of you departure date. By far the worst experience I've ever had with any establishment in the United States (and I've ben on the phone with Xfinity customer services). First off, after I asked for a Visa to the Bahamas, they told me it was going to cost $140. After I got all the requirements they asked for, and when I went back to them, I didn't bother to ask the price because they already told me before then (I guess that's kinda my fault), but when they swiped my credit card, it was $234!!!, I decided to brush it off (BIG MISTAKE). They call me back to tell me that the Visa fee has increased by $55 (nope, it increased by $45), and I would pay the rest when I come to pick my passport. That was the deal breaker. I go back to pick up my passport and they hit me with a $35 fee!!. Long story not so short. I went to the Bahamian Embassy, and they didn't require nearly as much document, and their fee was just $100 even! And WAY SHORTER PROCESSING TIME! read more

We paid IVS (Atlanta Airport) to get a passport w/ in 48 hrs on 1/6/2011, for $495. We were guaranteed delivery on 1/11, in time for departure on 1/13 at 7am. I asked if there is any reason that we would not have it and was told THE ONLY REASON we would not have it on time is if the applicant had outstanding money due to the govt, child support or other govt issue that would require addl information. The passport was for a 9 mo old so the woman (she notarized a form, name can be researched) said you will ABSOLUTELY have your passport in time. We asked if the passport could be sent directly to us, we were told we would have it sooner if picked up at ATL Airport location. On 1/11, I spoke with James multiple times and he had NO idea where the passport was. We then spoke to manager, Chris, who also, could not provide tracking info of where/when we would have the passport. We were NEVER apologized to, accommodated in any way, only to end up missing our trip & paying an ADDITIONAL $886 to reschedule. We knew that the office at the airport closed at 7pm, and never recd a call at the end of the business day to notify us to adjust our travel plans accordingly. The flight left before IVS opened the next morning. The passport arrived on 1/13 so we picked it up and expressed our dissatisfaction to Chris. On 1/14 I spoke to Patsy Wolf, CEO, via phone, while expressing my dissatisfaction and request that they refund the processing and shipping fees, she said she did not want us as a customer, and hung up on me. Poor business practices. If IVS cannot provide the service, they should refund the excessive fees. We would not pay $495 to have the passport expedited if we were going to reschedule the trip and incur $886 MORE fees. This should have been properly disclosed. We paid for a service we did not receive. In looking at the passport, the issue date is 1/11, how would we have it on the 11th, if it was issued on the 11th, yet ordered it on 1/6? That is not 48hr turnaround. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO USE THIS SERVICE! read more
