I have never posted on Yelp, but I joined just for this occasion. I think Karma can deal with much of this, but I would like to contribute! Here is the "Method to her Madness". The gentleman prior was right. She treats her employees likes dogs. 1. She does NOT pay overtime or anything over 40 hours. This includes for an event that falls after hours and above 40 working hours per week. (Which is often at a Sandals event or wedding event) She doesn't care about your family. 2. Rita asks questions in the interview about family and children and their schedules. Rita works normally from 9:00 am-10:00 pm. Employees should as well. Rita's husband left her early on and took her children because making $$ was her priority. It's still her plan. Money first, family second. 3. If you come into her store and stay for too long (she will call the company line from her line (at her desk) and have a long conversation with her employee in front of you until you finally leave) Rita doesn't believe in customer service... unless she is the "agent". Anyway, after hook, line, and sinker it's best not to call her until you need to pick something up. She has already taken your money and moved on. No need for customer service anymore. 4. Credit cards beware. She doesn't destroy them. Also, look out for extra fees. I can almost guarantee you, she will sell you something you can get for less. read more

Monique at Travel Expo is by far the greatest travel agent in the business. She has been at it for years and it shows. Her expertise of Mexico and the Caribbean is limitless. I have found she knows every detail of most resorts and if there's something she doesn't know, she gets the answer to you the same day. I am truly blown away by her professionalism, drive, and love for her job. We recently planned a wedding in the Carribean. My fiance (now husband) and I, along with some of our family and friends, started off with a different travel agency. So much went wrong so fast. I called Monique and not only did she fix the problems the other agency caused, she guided us in a much better direction. Keep in mind, we already booked with another agency so Monique was not being compensated for our travel arrangements and all the help she gave us. We immediately directed all the other wedding guests to Monique and everything was flawless thereafter. We have since booked a trip with her and she is great at customizing your vacation. Kate Robertson is not your typical travel agent. She is an experience expert! She lives, breaths and immerses herself in her travels and truly believes in her brand. She treats you like family and her main goal is provide an A+ experience, from start to finish. She works tirelessly to make sure all of your needs and especially your WANTS are satisfied, while being mindful of your budget. We have used her for several different trips to date. A few that where we told her the resort where we wanted to stay and then another based on her recommendations. We told her what we liked and didn't like from previous trips and let her come up with options. She did not disappoint! She has traveled the area extensively and takes the time to really understand what you are looking for in order to provide you with the best options and experience. We did have an emergency medical situation arise prior to travel and Kate seamlessly handled all communication with the resort and was able to rebook us for a future trip.. even when the resort was not being so accommodating. She turned a less than ideal situation into a positive experience that we will remember for years to come! read more

I wouldn't trust anyone else with my vacation! I booked my first trip with Travel Expo to Barbados in 2013 for my honeymoon. There was an issue with an excursion and since I had no service, I had no means to contact my travel agent, so I asked the hotel to do it for me. The gentleman came back to me with an apology and an upgrade. I don't know what magic Monique worked for me, but I've been a loyal customer ever since. I've seen so many beautiful places and haven't had to do anything except tell her how much I want to spend and then just show up at the airport. They take care of everything! Monique is so patient and communicative about my options, and this is important as I am what is described as "high maintenance". I prefer resorts, and want VERY specific things in those resorts. Monique has exceeded all my expectations each time- this is someone who goes above and beyond for her clients and truly enjoys what she does. This is a family business and that's is something else I really love about Travel Expo. Literally hundreds of brochures are available on site if you want to shop for your next adventure. Over the last 20+ years we have tapped Rita's expertise for arranging domestic trips as well as travel to the South Pacific, Alaska, South America, Australia and Africa. Thanks to her many years in the travel industry and experience dealing with resorts, cruise lines and tour companies, she has been able to save us considerable money and/or secure upgraded accommodations. If there is ever a problem, you will be thankful to have Rita in your corner. Last week when our upcoming cruise was cancelled and we were not able to resolve our dispute with the cruise line about restitution, we called Rita. By the afternoon she had secured full refunds for us and our traveling companions. Five stars definitely earned! read more

Monique planned a Caribbean cruise for my family of eight. She was practically a miracle worker. We got lots of perks with our cruise. We booked our honeymoon at a Sandals resort through Rita. She made the process very easy for booking the trip. What really brought her head and shoulders above anyone else was her quick response while we were on our trip.
