The family and I stopped by the Dairy Barn on our way back from the Lake of the Ozarks. This drive-in is known for their plate- sized pork tenderloin sandwich, and it did not disappoint. Their menu is reasonably priced, with burgers, fries, shakes, and appetizers. We also ordered honey sriracha chicken tenders, and southwestern egg rolls - which were AHHHMAZING. Not good, I would go to Classic over this place. Food is greasy and low quality. The only reason we stopped here was Classic was too full.

We have been here several times on our way to and from the lake, and it is the perfect place to stop and grab lunch or dinner! We always get the cheeseburgers because they are so good, and have that truly char-broiled flavor! We love the outdoor seating in the warmer months, but I think they do have indoor seating as well. We haven't had the ice cream (gasp!), but my daughter says its excellent as well :) read more

I drove almost 2 hours from the KC metro area to sample the delicious tenderloin sandwich and it did not disappoint. The tenderloin was crunchy, crispy and juicy with just the right amount of mayo and fixings. I ordered at the takeout window and the service was fast and friendly. This joint, is seriously on the middle of nowhere. The only fast food game in town, we decided to stop for a quick break. We didn't expect much, but oh, my, God, what a surprise!! My monstrous pork tenderloin was delicious, juicy and seasoned perfectly. My husband's burger looked and tasted handmade (A+) and the fries were fat, hot and crispy....just like this girl. I've been coming here since I was a little kid. We always stop by on our way to the Lake and sometimes on our way home too! We've been here through several different owners, and I must say, the newest owner is my favorite. Although they eliminated the taco bar, in the end, I think slimming down the menu was a wise choice. The thing to get here is the pork tenderloin sandwich with an order of tater tots. The tenderloin is HUGE. I can only eat half of one. It is delicious. The bun is awesome. It must be some kind of egg roll, it's so soft and fluffy. Not like the egg roll you get at an asian restaurant. The pork is flattened and crispy and awesome. It even tastes good leftover. So if you're feeling brave, get the big one and finish it at home. Now, the tater tots. the tater tots are something to behold. Unlike any tater tot I've had before, there are actual chunks of potato in it, and they are to die for. With a little ketchup on them, you'll be one happy camper. The ice cream is really good too. Way more quantity and average quality and below average prices. I couldn't finish my regular hurricane with snickers and M&M's in it. I could only eat half. My order was about $10 for the sandwich, the tots, and the ice cream. I would have paid $10 just to eat those tater tots again. I've gotten their burgers before and they are tasty. Much better than your average fast food burger. The service is good, lots of friendly faces behind the counter and people willing to make conversation. They are also dog friendly (outside). They have some tables set up and walk up window. They also gave me a bowl for my pup. It takes a little bit longer to get your food, but it is well worth it. Just stopped at one our favorite places in the way to the lake. We stop there even when we are not hungry. We just stopped and their ice cream. Was totally different. Not at all the same taste or consistency. I did not even eat it as I was so disappoint. When my husband asked why they. Changed their ice cream we were somewhat curtly said the ice cream has not hanged the ice cream machine did. Whatever the real reason new ice cream or new machine or both it's awful. We will not return unfortunately and so disappointed the previous machine is not being used which is what the Dairy Bar is known for. My suggestion would be to Bring back the old machine I'm sure we are not the only ones who will Be horribly disappointed. You lost some great and loyal customers. read more

If the guy with the flower hat and funny pants is there your food will be amazing if not there id skip it. Drinks are flat ice cream is inconsistent and the wait time can be forever. I stop here on almost every trip to the Lake of the Ozarks and get the same thing: the half-size tenderloin sandwich and a marshmallow milkshake. Seriously, do yourself a favor and pull into The Dairy Bar. It's just before the junction of F and U (really). We decided to go to the Dairy Bar for dinner because we found a restaurant.com coupon. I was glad we decided to give them a try. We had their chicken strip basket. Price was good, food was served ripping hot, and the food itself was good as well. I found I wanted more fries when I refilled the chicken. Every single girl that "helped" us was very rude and they were very serious about closing as fast as they could. Stopped here on way back from the Ozarks. Ordered the tenderloin and it was the best sandwich I have ever eaten! It was large enough for two people and piled high with lettuce and pickles as I requested. Can't wait until I pass through Cole Camp to order another one. read more
