I had a few items to sell, and from my very first visit, I could tell I was dealing with someone who is honest, respectful, and genuinely kind. What really impressed me was when I found an old gold ring I no longer needed. I arrived at 5:58 p.m., just two minutes before closing. The door was already locked, but he saw me, came to the door, and took the time to help me anyway. He never made me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing him. I honestly thought I might get around $30 for the ring. When he offered me $230, I was absolutely floored! I'd heard people say Gold King pays some of the best prices around, and now I know it's true. One thing I really appreciate is that he's extremely knowledgeable. He clearly knows his business and takes pride in what he does. He's fair, honest, and respectful, but he's also experienced and knows the value of what he's buying and selling. That gave me a lot of confidence that I was dealing with someone who truly knows his craft. They also have a gaming store right next door, which my son enjoyed checking out. It's a great place if you're into video games and collectibles. If you're looking for a place that's honest, fair, knowledgeable, and offers excellent prices, I highly recommend Gold King. I'll definitely be back!

Be careful working with this company, they are under new ownership. It is not the same Oz Jewelers…read more THEY LOST MY ACCENT RUBY, THEY CHIPPED MY RUBY, AND THE PRONG WORK IS AWFUL. I got my ring back a week ago and took it to different Jewelers in the surrounding area and all said, "the prong work leaves alot to be desired" - they were to replace a prong on my sapphire and tip the other 3. There are ripples in the tipped prongs and they are so bad the Jewelers reviewing it would not attempt to tell me which one was replaced. I have had this ring for over a decade, it is well loved and in sterling silver, which is soft but the sapphire is not centered. There is a huge gap and the stone is pushed to one side leaving it diagonal. There are several prongs on the accent setting that needs replacement, that was never even mentioned to me when I brought it in. This ring was giving to me by my father when I was 19, it was 1,000 almost 20 years ago, my father passed in January. There is no amount of money too great for this ring. I added photos so you can see how poorly this ring was done, every jeweler I've spoken with said they would not return my ring to me like this. The stone they lost, I went to pick up my ring and was told the jeweler forgot to put the stone in. Why was my ring not inspected before it was put in a bag as completed? The ruby was not in the bag and they only told me it was lost thr next day, because the color did not match and they had to order a new ruby. THE COLOR STILL DOES NOT MATCH! In the sun you can see how pink the stone is compared to the others. And the ruby below the ruby they replaced has been chipped in the same spot the prong lays on the stone they replaced. This ring is "well loved", it is almost 20 years old. But none of my stones were chipped when I brought it in. There was no mention of a chipped stone when it was brought in. I know there are no photos of a chipped stone because my stone WAS NOT CHIPPED! The prong that broke was on the opposite side of the ring. I've included a photo of how my ring looked before it was brought in. I am devastated this all happened. I'm angry how this was handled. Every jeweler was surprised this was Oz's work and so am I. I will be taking this as far as I can. I'm an accountant, I have money Melissa and the ring you messed up means more to me than you will ever know.

He checked and replace all the prongs on all my diamonds because he noticed they were very worn (been on my finger for 30 years!) so he replace all 12 prongs as well as setting the new stone. And cleaned the ring too. I was overjoyed when I got it back because it literally looked brand new. All the scratches on the gold were buffed out and it looked fantastic. Price was extremely reasonable and the turn around time was phenomenal! Oz has been my families go to jeweler for 35 years. I can't imagine getting anything new or having a repair done anywhere but with him. The entire staff is absolutely awesome! Highly recommend Oz's jewelers for that special piece you're looking for. If he doesn't have it he will make it or find it..and everything is top quality!

A few friends suggested I check out Sherrill's, a small locally owned shop, so I decided to give it a try. Right away, the experience felt different. The staff at Sherrill's were friendly, patient, and actually listened to what I was looking for. There was zero pressure, and they helped me sort through options that fit both my style preferences and my budget. With their help, I found a beautiful oval-cut diamond on a gold band that felt perfect. A few months later, I proposed and she said yes! What I really appreciate about Sherrill's is that even though it's a small business, the care and personal attention they offer beat anything I found at the bigger stores. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and their work. I'm really grateful for how they walked me through such an important purchase, and I'll definitely be going back for future occasions. Supporting local businesses like this one truly matters, and Sherrill's has earned my trust and loyalty.

I normally…read moretrek out to SouthPark Mall, but I wasn't looking forward to making that drive just for a watch battery. I searched Yelp for watch repair and discovered Bailey's Fine Jewelry on Providence Road, just a few miles from Uptown. What a wonderful discovery. From the moment I walked in, this felt different from your typical jewelry store. Bailey's is a beautiful, spacious, family-owned jeweler, but what impressed me most was how welcoming and comfortable the experience felt. Bailey's has been locally owned in North Carolina since 1948, and the Charlotte location carries on the legacy of longtime Charlotte jeweler Morrison Smith. I was greeted immediately and escorted to the watch counter. The associate taking care of me offered coffee, tea, a soft drink or sparkling water while I waited. I chose sparkling water and was handed a glass bottle of Perrier tucked into a black Bailey's koozie. Now that is a nice touch. While they worked on my watch, I wandered around. The store is gorgeous and much larger than I expected, with fine jewelry alongside beautiful gifts, frames, crystal, jewelry boxes and other pieces. I also appreciated being able to browse without feeling followed or pressured. The clientele was equally welcoming and refreshingly diverse--different ages, backgrounds and styles. Nobody needed to look a certain way to belong there. For a high-end jewelry store, I found that especially refreshing. You can also see into the watchmaking/work area through glass, which I loved. Everything looked immaculate and organized, and being able to see the professionals at work added a sense of transparency. Eventually I settled into one of the big club chairs by the windows with my Perrier and a jewelry magazine. A gentleman brought my finished watch directly to me on a little velvet tray. Such an elegant touch for something as simple as replacing a battery. Then came the biggest surprise. I walked over to pay, and the associate told me there was no charge for the battery replacement. Instead, Bailey's asks customers to make a donation to a local charity. How fantastic is that? I later looked it up because I wanted to understand the program. Bailey's calls it "A Time to Give." Rather than charging customers for watch-battery replacement, Bailey's absorbs most of the cost and asks for a charitable donation instead. Each store selects organizations to support, and Bailey's says the program has now donated more than $1 million to the communities it serves. I happily donated $20. As I was leaving, I tried to return the Bailey's koozie and just take my Perrier. Nope. She told me to keep the koozie, too. From a customer-service and branding perspective, somebody at Bailey's understands hospitality. That little black Bailey's koozie is coming home with me, and every time I use it, I'll remember this experience. That's how you create a customer--and perhaps an accidental brand ambassador. My only caution is parking. The Charlotte store is directly on Providence Road, and the front parking area is tight. Pulling back into fast-moving traffic requires patience, so take your time. I'm going to investigate whether there's another parking option for my next visit. And there will be a next visit. I went to Bailey's Fine Jewelry because I needed a watch battery. I left wanting to come back and explore the store. That says a lot. So if your watch has stopped ticking, don't automatically head to the mall. Bailey's offers watch-battery replacement, and that simple errand supports something much bigger in the community. Life is too short not to sleep well, eat well, travel well--and now I'm adding shop well. Bailey's Fine Jewelry, you've officially made the list.
