Once Upon a time there lived a young man and woman. This couple have been together for a little over a year and were on the road to spend the rest of their lives together. This couple "like any couple" tried asking for help moving and of course all their friends were busy. About 1 week before their lease was up on their apartment they decided to do some shopping and check for the cheapest moving company in the Denver area... He ended up hearing about A Man With A Van from a friend whom he worked with "who of course was busy on the move out date too". So the couple decided to give A Man With A Van a call. Once they did, they instantly made their schedule revolve around the couple. MOVING DAY So, the big day came quicker then the couple planned. A Man With A Van were right on time. These people wrapped and helped me pack what was needed in Highlands Ranch on Mar. 26, 2019. The Lindsey lady is very hateful. The Lindsey husband is nice. Someone stole a hundred dollar bill from my purse. Also, a rug did not make it to my home. I believe the truck was full and it was placed in a different truck and taken away. I used A Man With A Van in November 2020. Terious ("T"), Kaleb, and Rodney were EXCELLENT. They worked hard and fast, carrying so many items on their backs at the same time that I was shocked! They very meticulously wrapped my furniture so there were no damages. Stairs were no issue on either end. They were extremely pleasant, asking for 5-minute breaks and asking me exactly where I wanted stuff. They also called me "ma'am"! I could not have been more pleased with these 3 young men. These guys were awesome! Arrived about 15 min early and worked hard the entire time. We had three big dudes show up and just power hauled all of our boxes and heavy items like it was nothing. I'm not kidding. I saw two of them move an old plasma TV that had to be over 100 lbs. all by himself like it was nothing. What I really appreciated is the time and care they took when moving in our new place. It is our first home and still very pristine in condition. They didn't touch a single wall or scrape up any of our new wood floors. Even took the door off the hinges to fit in the big stuff. Hard, smart, workers, would definitely use them again! Overall, a really good experience. Came recommended by our Office Manager, who used them once personally for her apartment, and then again to move our office to a new location. The only thing to be careful of is the over-the-phone quote. I thought I was upfront and clear about the amount of stuff needing moving and the logistics of the origin/destination buildings, but when the movers arrived after another big job, they estimated it would take twice the time quoted for this one-plus bedroom move across town. I wasn't in a position to make other arrangements, so together we decided to reschedule for the next morning when they'd be fresh to work faster and could bring a third man. I *really* appreciated this flexibility and thoughtfulness toward my budget. It was $115 per hour for 3 hard-working men, which seems reasonable, but I admit I didn't have time to research competitor rates at all and just booked on the recommendation. They came armed with plenty of extra blankets and moving supplies, and I had a second dolly which helped it go faster. The destination was a serious pain... a third-floor 1930s walk-up with narrow winding stairs, but they got everything - including an upright piano - up quickly and carefully. The guys were awesome: nice, professional, thoughtful, dedicated, and smiling even while carrying some seriously heavy stuff. A few years ago we used A Man with A Van and had a very positive experience. So...when we moved this weekend only 4 blocks way from our current apartment-I decided to use them again (as my husband was away in Ireland for a funeral during the move). The two employees arrived only 5 minutes late so I thought we were off to a good start. They surveyed our small one bedroom apartment and immediately the older gentleman told me it would probably be double the price I was quoted. I said let's see how it goes. I am not sure if it was because I was female and alone, that he thought he could scam me a little? I am not really sure. My husband was a mover years ago and I know it's a tough job. I've moved stuff myself many times. I'm no moving bumpkin. Anyways, at 8:15 am they told me they have forgotten their moving pads and had to go back to retrieve. They returned at 9:05 am. They were done loading everything shortly before 10am. We were moving from a first floor apartment to a second floor apartment, but I can tell you the stairs are not steep on the second floor apartment. The employees also mentioned more than once that they had done a 13 hour job the day before. While I sympathize, it really had nothing to do with us and we were only a two hour job anyways. They wound up keeping a t.v entertainment center of ours because they said they wouldn't be able to fit it up the stairs of our new place. And this is without even attempting to try first. Now, it was recent second-hand gift and I was so tired at that point I believed them-and told them to keep it. I wasn't attached to it. While at our old apartment, I had given J. our portable swamp cooler (as our new place has central a/c) as well. Anyways, then J. said our sofa bed would definitely not fit up the stairs. I told him it would probably fit, especially since it had fit through a stairwell half the size (without removing the legs) in NYC. It took about 10 minutes of convincing for them to even attempt. My brother-in-law and sister had shown up by then and asked them to please try as well. And guess what? It fit without a problem! The movers handed off light stuff to them, to bring up the stairs as well. At that point we just wanted them to be done with it They charge $85 an hour so I wasn't about to ask them to go back down and get the entertainment center. I was really fed up at that point. In the end, I was charged $233.00 for 2 hours and 15 minutes(drive time). I gave them each a $40 tip because I am not heartless and I believe in karma. But honestly, I am a little bitter about the whole experience. read more

We used a man with a van moving company to move us out of one home, to store boxes and furniture for almost a year, and to move us in to a new home. The move out was fine. However, the move in was not good. First, the movers were five hours late. We were told several times throughout the morning that the trucks were "30 minutes away." Second, we were told we would have a six man crew, but only four men showed up. The move in took several hours longer as a result of the smaller crew. Third,,there was extensive damage to several pieces of furniture and to our washer dryer. For example, they stored upholstered furniture uncovered and it was filthy, they dropped a wooden filing cabinet and it had a huge top to bottom gash in one side, and it appeared that they dropped the washer as well because it had a large dent in top, etc. I could go on and on... Fourth, they lost several large items and boxes. Large items such as a queen sized mattress, a wood side table and a DVD player were lost. Boxes of items were missing. When we contacted a man with a van, they looked and said they found our items and we made arrangements to deliver them. However, they showed up with a table (not ours) and a mirror (also not ours). We explained to the movers that these were not ours and described what we were missing. They apologized and told us to call the main office. We have left several messages and sent many emails. There has been no response. I would NOT recommend this company at all. read more

This is a great company. I have used them for small jobs like moving a piano and big jobs like moving a whole house full of crap probably ten times over the years and have had nothing but great experiences. I have also referred them to lots of friends and no one has ever had anything but praise. If you are looking for a trustworthy, reliable and affordable moving company then these are your guys. I worked as a mover in college and know how much of a grind it can be for the guys on the truck. You would never know it from anyone I ever met from Man with a Van. I recently sold my house and had A MAN WITH A VAN come out and move the furniture. I had Tristin, Lupin, Kalib . These guys are great. They took great pride in moving my stuff. I went from a 5 bedroom house to a one bedroom apt in the basement of a family member. Once i find a new place i will be calling these guys back to move me again. They always had a smile on there face and were laughing with each other. They had it loaded over at the new place in 3 hours. I was amazed. They took great pride in doing my move. A Man With A Van was GREAT! We had Chris and Blake move our items from an apartment into a house a couple weeks ago. It involved multiple flights of stairs and hot temperatures. The entire time they were with us, they were positive, helpful, capable, thoughtful, and friendly. It was clear they respected each other, us, and our belongings. While the moving process tends to be stressful from my past experiences, Chris and Blake made it a piece of cake. They even helped us drop a couch off at Goodwill on our way. What an ordeal!!! First off we were quoted $250 an hour for 6 guys and 2 trucks. The first truck arrived 10 minutes late. The second truck arrived an hour late. Shortly after the second truck arrived someone lit up some pot in my back yard. Within 30 minutes I could smell it again. I was busy in the basement finishing boxing my sewing room. Honestly, you never saw more than 2 guys in the house at a time because the other 4 were visiting in the garage. The tall, thin guy either Chris or George spent most of his time circling what needed to go onto the truck. He was always looking for the easiest and lightest pieces to carry. Instead of working together on heavy pieces one guy would be struggling with my treasured possessions. I have Woodley's furniture, which is now scratched, but when they took the desk apart they slid pieces on the floor and scratched the wood floors in the house we will soon be selling, then again on the wood floors of our brand new home. They broke the wheels off of one of my rolling carts bringing it up from the basement. My 61 year old husband and I worked harder than these guys. When we got to the new house I told them not to take anything to the basement because I didn't want to risk anymore damaged items. So with six guys "working" there was only one guy "Lupe" in the house who put together the study furniture and then put the baby grand piano together with the others standing by in case it fell. I had to ask 3 times if someone, one of the 5 guys not working would please set up my washer and dryer. They hooked up the water hoses backward. I also had to ask several times if someone would put our bed together. They left the top mattress in the basement at the other house. My husband & I went back and got it. The next day 2 guys and a new guy came back. They actually worked harder on the second day. I slipped Lupe a $20 when I saw him again because he was the only one who worked the day before. Then when they were finished I gave each man $30. But after they left I found that the back patio door handle had been put on by Lupe in such a way that it was frozen and the door would not lock or close. So when my husband got home from work he got to fix that and the washer hoses. We were all in for over $3000 to have floors and furniture damaged. We bought pizza for them, too. They took a 45 minute lunch break while we were on the clock for $250/hour. We've had movers before but nothing like this. And yes I even tipped them $150 the first day. You could tell they were all mad about this. I guess $25 per man isn't good to them, so then they charged me an additional $80 for wrapping. read more

Terrible experience with A Man With A Van. I moved with less furniture than a studio apartment - just boxes and bedroom furniture. I was given a quote of $250 but I ended up paying $430 because theses movers were extremely SLOW and took their time, including a break to walk to a gas station to get water. They didn't properly wrap any of my furniture so many wood pieces were damaged. They broke a leg off of my nightstand but didn't bother mentioning it to me. Very slow, very expensive, and I'm left with damaged furniture. Take your business elsewhere. read more

They got our entire 22' truck unloaded and our bed assembled in just over 2 hours. They were hustling while also being respectful of corners in the house and the fragility of the furniture. I called at 9:30 am on Saturday morning and they showed up by 12. They were cheaper than the first mover I tried to hire and they work really fast. Rarely would someone say moving was fun but we actually had a blast with these guys. Honestly, we laughed all day! They are extremely professional and easy to deal with. They are fast, strong and effective. Honest and trustworthy. To start, Denise gave us a moving quote based on the contents of our house. The quote pretty much matched to the tee what the final cost was on moving day. She knows exactly what it will run you so no surprises later. That was awesome! The day of the move the crew arrived a few minutes before 8am. We had Alex, Chris and Chris (I called them the two Chris' all day). After a quick tour to evaluate the goods, the guys started moving stuff out to their truck. They were very thorough with wrapping important pieces like mirrors, TVs, a granite top table, etc. They take the time to make sure your belongings are going to be protected and safe for your moving journey. We had a lot of stuff to move and these guys worked very hard for us. They kept a positive and happy attitude all day. At times I thought "these guys have to be getting tired" and here they were smiling and hustling their butts off through 3 truck loads of furniture and boxes. Alex and the Chris' were friendly and engaging on ideas for packing the truck, effective use of materials, suggestions on things they thought would be better wrapped up to be safe, etc. We appreciate their knowledge and feedback. This helped the move go smoothly and quickly. They got us unloaded in to a storage area as we wait for our house to be ready in a few weeks. We have already booked them to handle our second move later this month. You will not find a harder working team with a great attitude, and yet also conscience of your time/money like the team at A Man with a Van. read more
