My friend had to move her father into memory care and hired A Move Handled with Care to help her. They did not complete the promised unpacking and hung a few pictures as they told my friend that they were stressed out from everything not fitting. My friend had to make the bed, set up the bathroom, put up the lamps, and hang the rest of the pictures. They are supposed to be the professionals who could plan this all out, but they were not prepared and were supposed to help until 4p but left by 2:30p. They blamed it on the movers and my friend. This company is incredible! Specifically Shanda, she met with my mother and me and discussed what we needed to do to prepare for the move, what they would do, and answered all questions we had! Then on move day, I was present to answer any additional questions Shanda and her team had, but honestly all I could do was sit back, impressed! I highly recommend A Move Handled With Care. My husband and I bought a new home recently and heard about the company on a Stellar webinar. They were wonderful! What I liked is their array of services and that you only pay per hour. We hired them to arrange our move, pack our kitchen and china cabinet, and unpack everything. They even hung pictures in my kitchen and dining room, offering suggestions for the placement. Washing our sheets and making the bed was a real treat for me. I cannot say enough good things about this company. It was like having your family move you, but without the drama and the fighting. These people take care of your possessions like everything was a valuable piece. The service was outstanding. There's nothing as unsettling as moving, but this company takes the stress out of it. They pack your things with care, coordinate with the movers and unpack you on the other end. They even took pictures of how pictures were hung so they could put them back up in the same order. The best thing? When I went to get ready for bed that night, in the bed they made up with fresh sheets, I found my nightgown and robe hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Move handled with care and a company that they work together called Local Moving, broke our bed frame. Promised to fix it or replace it, never got back to us didn't return our call. We left several voicemails for Shanda, completely ignored us. Even though it's stated that they broke our bed on the final paper. Overpriced, not competent, not reliable. read more

These amazing folks helped move our elderly mom's furniture and belongings into her assisted living community including sorting out where things should go to be most accessible for her. They thought of stuffing packing paper into drawers to keep contents from shifting, had quick and careful movers and were generally lovely to work with through the whole process. read more

My senior mother has used this team three different times over the past few years for moves. The reason that she kept going back is because she loved them. They are highly sensitive to the needs of the elderly and are very efficient. These local women do a wonderful job managing moves and take a lot of stress out of a high anxiety time for anyone, especially senior citizens. They do anything that is needed including putting away the dishes and clothes to setting up electronics (TV, computers, phones, etc). I highly recommend that you use this outfit! read more

Cierra and her team were recommended to move my mother from her assisted living facility to a memory care residence across town. The entire process was flawless. Cierra and I set up a time to meet at my mother's place, discuss the move, tour the apartment, and inventory major items to be relocated. At that point, she was able to provide a very reasonable estimate that included everything from packing, transporting, unpacking and setting up the new room. A day later, she even designed a floor plan to ensure proper furniture placement. The entire move was managed without me ever needing to step foot in either facility on packing or move day. When I arrived at my mother's new place, it was as if a magic act had been performed. This is simply brilliant! The lovely packers showed up on time and were 110% prepared and professional. Most of all they were careful with every piece! This service helped make my senior parents move simple, efficient, and calm. It was like having the perfect family members show up and hold your hand through the entire process. Dishes, silverware, pots and pans were all neatly in place and even helped to make sure the beds were perfectly made and ready to cuddle on in! AMHWC was a very poor experience. There office staff were adequate, not efficient or terribly helpful. There on site staff were nothing short of awful. We went with our realtors recommendation, saying AMHWC would handle all our downsizing, pre-packing, moving and discarding of old items. AMHWC only packs, that all they do, they contract everything else out. Which would be OK, if that's what we had been told initially, but it wasn't. We wanted our items moved to storage. AMHWC ad says they do that. Yet they acted like we asked them to do something illegal. "Oh we can't do that", you need to arrange that yourself. What happened to turnkey moving? I don't know. When they come to pack, they pack everything. Purses hanging on the hook, glasses on the TV side table, TV remotes, everything. Which again, would be OK, if they had asked, but they didn't. They took lighting attached to the house, disconnected it, and packed it. Lighting the new owners wanted. They never asked, and when confronted, denied it. With dozens of boxes, we could never find the components they removed. We ended up having to buy new lighting to replace what they packed. it wasn't stress free, it caused stress. Their name should be a move handled without care. I've worked in senior care for 25+ years, I've seen alot of senior movers. Were the dumb home owner, hiring them to take the complexity out of the move. Instead they made it far harder than it had to be. One simple thing would have solved all the problems. Cierra and her team really helped us move our family member out of her nursing home once she passed away. Honestly I think it saved us money by hiring her because we were being charged for every day that we were there and if we had to do it ourselves we would have a weeks worth of pro-rated rent racked up at a minimum. The lady who helped us pack was really focused and I got sooo much done with her there. She was only there for 2 hours and we got her whole place packed and boxed up ready for movers. It was such a good feeling to just be done. She also helped us arrange for the movers to take the tv to Best Buy for recycling (since it was broken) which I never would have thought to do. The retirement home was going to charge us $125 to get rid of the tv and A Move Handled with Care organized getting rid of the tv and it ended up costing us much cheaper. It was TOTALLY worth the money we spent. The ladies were so kind, thoughtful, and attentive which was exactly what we needed when our loved one passed. If you think you can do it on your own, sure, maybe you can, but these ladies are so efficient that in our case they paid for themselves. This company is just great. They recently moved my mom from one assisted living facility to a new one. I spoke with Cierra, and after asking detailed questions about furniture, estimated boxes, etc., she was able to give me an estimate. The estimate included all packing, unpacking, all packing materials, two men and a truck. She then followed up with the estimate in writing via email. The move could not have gone better. The packer, Shanda, came on time and ready to work. She was very professional and careful with everything. She is also a very hard worker - no breaks for this woman. The moving men and truck arrived exactly on time. The guys were very careful with the furniture, lamps, etc. They were extremely hard working, as well. The move was completed on time (within the estimate's time frame) The moving crew worked together as an efficient team. They took away all packing materials and even hung the pictures before leaving. I have moved my mom 3 times in 2 years and this was the best move ever! I know you won't be disappointed if you hire this company-they were awesome! read more
