I was introduced to this cafe/restaurant by one of my colleague managers. She eats pretty healthy with daily salads. We were celebrating her birthday, so I purchased a virtual gift card for her on their website via QuickGifts. Once you purchase, you can pick a gift card theme, and in a couple hours you can get it emailed to the person you are gifting. I wanted it to be a surprise since I was her birthday fairy this year, so I sent it to myself, printed it and put it in her office. We went as a large group (10 people) around 11:30 am. It was only 10 minutes from our office along I-10/Echo and in the same shopping area as Kroger, Corner Bakery and Lupe Tortilla. There's a green awning with a large sign. When you walk in, it is partly a store on the left and the cafe/restaurant to the right. The store sells healthy vitamins, treats and other health products. You definitely have to keep an open mind because everything is healthy from the drinks, dessert, food and condiments. If you are vegan, vegetarian or eat fairly healthy, this place is right up your alley. I had the chicken parmesan pasta that was a special for the day. It was a large portion that I ate a third of it and took the rest home. It came with a fresh side salad with a green dressing. I liked my food but wish the pecan-crusted chicken was crispy. The noodles were slightly overcooked but fair. The rest of my colleagues had either the same dish, the other daily special of meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans, salad, veggie patty burger, spinach and mushroom enchiladas, salmon avocado sandwich, etc. I think all but one of my colleagues didn't like it. The birthday celebrant liked her lemon bar. I didn't like my hummingbird cupcake. It was more like banana nut, and there was too much banana and nonexistent pineapple. The cupcake was also dense and not moist. The cafe/restaurant is dim, and the seating with the large tables that's good for groups is too close to the soda machine. If someone is filling their cup, you have to walk around. Where you give your buzzer and pick up food is also along that pathway with the teas. I liked the hibiscus herbal tea. It tasted like hibiscus and mint. There are board games available if you want to pass the time. It was steadily busy when we were there, so people enjoy it. The staff were also friendly and knowledgeable on the food options. It was nice to try, but I don't think I will go out of my way to return. read more

Great, fresh, healthy food, as always. I got the macro plate with tofu and it is delicious. I usually get a carob-peanut butter bar but they are sold out! I did score some of their apple pecan tuna salad, the food of the gods, to take home. It used to be all vegetarian but for the past several years has served chicken, fish, and (I'm told) excellent burgers. This is a terrific place with a history of integrity and friendliness. I usually get carryout lunch which includes sandwich. Soup and salad. I ate inside the other day with my daughter and grandson. As usual the salad was extremely fresh and tasty with or without dressing. I ordered tuna w pecan and cranberries I think. At any rate it was delicious and healthy on wheat bread. I also ordered the house made chips that were less salted and good. Portions were generous and ended up taking much of mine home. The only downside was that the decor in the cafe was very outdated. 3/20/2023: Great store with personable service. I didn't even have to ask for assistance. A nice lady came over to see if I needed help. She was very knowledgeable and lead me to the right items. I initially knew about this place 10 years ago when I had lunch with a friend. My friend was very health conscious and after all these years, I've finally caught up to speed. I wasn't doing reviews back then like I do now, so I'm a little late, but I also have more information now than I had all those years ago. I remember the food being very good and healthy. Today my review is mainly on the store aspect. I was very impressed with the selection. I went in today to find a supplement for gastrointestinal support. I wasn't sure if I needed a liver detox pill, a tea or what. I've gotten on a cleaner living kick lately and I knew I needed something to help get me on the road to a full cleanse of all the toxic food I've put in my system. I walked out with more than I intended, not due to high pressure sales, but simply because I found everything I needed in one place. I wasn't expecting that. I only use products that are cruelty free (no animal testing), so I was also able to find my toothpaste and shampoo here. The place smells wonderful when you walk in, they have household products, food and so much more! I have a deep interest in metaphysics and I was surprised to see they carry those items too. Candles, sage for burning, oils, etc. I'm a Christian, but I also believe in the nature and energy around us. I love the full store concept of a place to eat and shop. I was in the Houston area and wanted to try a vegan place and this was nearby. When i went the phone lines weren't working so you had to order inside. I looked at the menu and got a hearty vegan chili pie as well as a pick two with the pimento cheese sandwich and the vegan chili Overall the portion size was good and the food was decent/ok - it was almost there but you needed to add things to make it . The chili pie tasted like a frito pie but it did need guacamole and salsa to make it smother and better. My husband and I had lunch here this past Tuesday. It was delicious! The service was excellent, the portions were large and we had leftovers for the next day. Try the Big Veggie Bowl next time you are there - you can add protein to it. We also took some sweets home and they did not disappoint! The macaroon, chocolate cupcake and carrot cake cupcake were all quite large amazing. They have food to satisfy any type of diet, gluten free, carnivore, vegetarian, vegan etc.... After having lunch we meandered through the grocery section and purchased several items. I am such a big fan of this place. It's a combo grocery stop and restaurant/juice bar. It has delicious food. Bonus, if you are gluten-free or vegan or vegetarian or any other food restriction category, you're safe here!! On the grocery side, sure you can find the niche vitamins or supplements you might be looking for that the bigger chains or brands don't carry, but also there's great things from sweets and treats, all the way to hair care and beauty products that are safe, sustainable and free of all the icky stuff. Some of the brands that I've seen there and appreciate, primal foods, simple mills, enjoy life, Accure, Bragg's, etc etc - IYKYK. Don't forget to hit up the cooler where you will find organic pasture raised eggs, and grass fed grass finished beef along with all the things in between. The restaurant has free Wi-Fi, and fresh coffee brewed all day. This place is a frequent take-out stop as well. When I'm in there eating I see a bunch of people coming to grab takeout it's pretty cool. Kinda like one of those Harry Potter tents that look small on the outside but ginormous on the inside. Their menu has a surprising selection of offerings & I opted for the Mediterranean Sampler to go. My meal was ready fairly quickly & I left happy. The M sampler consisted of: hummus, tabouli, Greek salad, rice stuffed grape leaves & pita. The flavors of this sampler was so delicious a bit of everything I love that left me super satisfied & carried me to dinner. Good healthy food. As soon as you walk in there's a lady offering massages on a massage chair and a nice scent of the humidifier. It's a casual place with a small restaurant on one side and a small convenience store on the other. The restaurant portion has daily specials displayed on plates and the menu has helpful pictures on it. The food is good although a little bland which is ok. I had the shrimp fajita which was good. I should have had 2 scoops of chicken salad , because I had extra lettuce and tomatoes but no more chicken to finish my meal. They have a choice of 3 dressing / It was teased good with or without it. Personally I like big chunks of Chicken in my chicken salad theirs is not chunky. Their cranberry chicken salad has everything finely chopped. I eaten Grilled Salmon which was excellent there before. I ordered the managers special with half of a chicken salad sandwich, Greek salad and chicken vegetable soup. All of the food was very fresh. I ordered a Greek salad but I don't think that's what they gave me because there was nothing Greek about it and they gave me some type of green goddess dressing to go on it. The chicken salad sandwich for me was quite bland. Tasted OK just not much flavor. My husband got the special of the day which was grilled flounder and vegetables.
