On May 26th, 2015 Robin R was sent to our home as a backup for our regular nanny. I came home to discover that this woman had not been following our directions for our daughter's feeding schedule and naps. She admitted that she had left our daughter to cry it out for 25 minutes. I have no idea if all naps occurred this way- she only admitted to the last nap of the day because I came home and caught her. I walked into the nursery to see that our daughter's light in the bedroom was still on and the blackout blinds were open. My daughter was laying in her crib exhausted from crying. She was pale and shaking. She was also starving! I fed her 8 ounces of milk (which is absolutely unheard of), and 2 hours later she downed another 8 ounces! Not only was Robin R's care substandard, it was disrespectful to my daughter and to our family. We are meant to trust that the strangers this agency sends to our home are competent and will care for our daughter. I contacted ANannyForU immediately. The owner, Rebecca Dyk called me a liar, and told me I was to apologize to her staff if I wanted the pleasure of using her company again. I was told to choose between apologizing for "lying" or ask for a refund. I choose the refund. The company is now refusing to refund our money and/or admit fault. I highly recommend for the safety of your family that you choose another Seattle Nanny Agency. I've heard amazing things about Annie's Nannies http://aniseattle.com/ In closing, if you would like a nanny who is a "glorified babysitter" and would like your child to be their training wheels then definitely call this company. It'll cost you $25 a day, and $250 to register and they'll send one right over. They recruit from college campuses and just out around Seattle. As a trained elementary teacher, very experienced with children of most ages and person who has been trusted by friends and family to work with their children, I am surprised that A Nanny for U is so picky about what they consider a 'good nanny'. I agree with Amy L's comments about A Nanny for U asking ridiculous and I would add inappropriate questions during the interview. I was asked about my husband and what his employment background is, whether I would consider myself more liberal or conservative, if I associated myself with any 'religious affiliations' and whether I would be willing to work for a gay or lesbian couple!! As well as grilling me about how much experience I had had with infants and particularly how much experience I'd had changing diapers, as if the most important thing when working as a nanny is to be able to change diapers. I would think one of the most important things when looking for a nanny is whether that person is trust worthy. Isn't that what you would be asking when leaving your children with a stranger? Who cares if they haven't changed 100 diapers. I received a phone call to let me know that I didn't have the job because I didn't have enough experience changing diapers, they hadn't even bothered to call my references to find out if I was suitable. I think they needed a safe excuse to not hire me and the above excuse worked. Discrimination - Absolutely. read more

I came to this agency looking for a position a little over a year ago. I had just finished my grad school program and wasn't having luck finding a job (surprise, surprise). I had never been a "nanny" before, but had a lot of other experience working with kids...preschool teacher, a ton of babysitting through the years, summer camps, etc. I hadn't ever thought of nannying as a career, but found that in going through an agency, it could be a professional, respectable job that even paid my bills!!! This agency, in particular, was super helpful and honest. They were real with me about the competition out there, but also helped me sell myself and understand the strengths that I would bring to a nanny position. They were very different than other agencies in that way. I fell in love with the first family that they sent me to and I felt prepared and confident going into the interview. I hit it off with the family and they hired me within the week. I have been with them for more than a year now and sadly their kids are going into school. I am sad to leave them, but would definitely go back to A Nanny For U if I decide to continue down the nanny path. Overall, I found that the women who work for this agency are super direct and upfront. They don't sugar coat things, but they are amazing at what they do. I have been working with A Nanny for U for four months as a temporary nanny. It has been one of the best jobs I have ever had. When I first applied for the job I was very impressed with the extensive interviewing process I went through to insure I was a fit for the job. After several interviews and a background and driving record check they began finding what type of families I would fit best with. I have not once been "thrown" into a job that wasn't what I had asked for in a family; number of children, age of children, hours, days, etc. They seem to work very hard to perfectly match you with a family. That way you are comfortable and enjoy the job as much as the children enjoy the care. Which overall makes for happy parents. A Nanny for U staff has been wonderful to work with. They have been so kind in any situation and every staff member I have been around is extremely friendly and very easy to talk to and discuss any problems. I would recommend anyone ( who loves working with children) to apply for a job. Great experience with the temporary nanny service. I live on the east coast and had a family wedding in Seattle. Our 10 month old son is a handful and we needed someone we could trust for three days to care for him. He has allergies, he is a picky eater, putting a diaper on this kid is an all out war. The wedding planner suggested ANFU and it was super cheap and easy. We were terrified by the prospect of trusting a total stranger to take care of our son (and be alone with all our valuables) but knowing ANFU does background checks and has a deep bench of experienced nannies helped. My one complaint was that they wouldn't let me choose from a portfolio of resumes....they picked for me and I had to pay extra to see the nanny's file and background check....but for $25 I guess they can't afford to spend too much time hand holding me. In the end your experience will be dictated by how good the nanny they set you up is....and in our one experience in August of 2014 we were thrilled. I am a pediatric therapist and have worked with children and their families for over 10 years and I have never heard of anything or experienced anything as appalling as this. I used this agency for a nanny placement for 3 1/2 months and experienced several bad business calls. 1. it was their policy for the nanny to call once she was book and several times this did not happen they would just showed up at my door. 2. they are extremely in-flexible with working with families and nannies on various issues. 3. they cancled on me with less then 12 hours notice, in which I had to miss work. 4.several of the nannies would show up late for the shift, 15-20 mins late. Bad, Bad business! If you are looking for a nanny service to work for or use, I highly recommend using a different business. If your looking to be treated horrible, experience high turn over, and want a nanny agency that clearly does not understand the stresses of families/childcare then you have found your home! read more

This agency is a joke to me. They ask you the most ridiculous questions when they're interviewing you for a nanny position. They better be careful no one ever brings a legal case against them for discrimination. They ask you questions about your religious beliefs, your political views, and even other way more personal questions. And some of their staff seems a bit fake and rude, especially Marlene. This agency seems to cater to a certain type, therefore they feel they need to work especially hard to kiss a** and ask all these ridiculous questions to find a "good match". If this agency called me and offered me a job, I would tell them to go fly a kite and that if they ever want to find good and genuine nannies, they better learn how to be a bit more polite and toss the ridiculous questions because when it comes down to it, it's about how well the nannies are with kids, I don't think most nannies come to work to talk politics or religion with their employers. read more

This is hands down the best agency that I have worked with. First off, the ladies that work there are professional, helpful, informative and friendly. I signed up with the agency in August 2016. I completed the application, background check and reference checks. Once that was completed, they worked on placing me with a family that was a good fit. During that time, they kept me busy with temp. work until a suitable placement was found. I interviewed with my potential family, which turned out too be a good fit. ANFU put together a contract that was mutually satisfying to the family and myself. They walked me through the process and answered all my questions. I'm putting this as 5 starts just so everyone can see this. I can't stress this enough - this company treats their employees with the upmost disrespect I have even seen. The level of unprofessionalism the management displays is truly heartbreaking as most of their employees dedicate their time almost completely to this job. The women behind the scenes are catty, immature and unreasonable. The nannies are wonderful! I wish they could be appreciated for what they do instead of treated like objects. We have used ANFU for their temporary services for over a year now and have had a wonderful experience through and through. We also were previous clients of a different staffing agency in the area and find ANFU to be communicative, quick to respond, and honest and direct with what they're able to do (or not). This nanny service is great! We have used it several times to provide backup childcare when my husband and I are working. Every nanny we have had has been wonderful. They are engaging, and interactive with our son. All of the nanny's have been good about Covid protocols as well, wearing masks while they are in our home.
