I was told that they do not accept this voucher for working families unless the parent work at one of their centers. They have so many locations, I found it really hard to believe that they accept the Working Connections subsidy but ONLY if you are a Bright Horizon employee. If this is the case, this creates a huge barrier for so many families to be able to access quality childcare for their children. I filed a complaint with the DCYF. On the childcare website, all of the Bright Horizon centers come up as child care providers accepting this subsidy voucher.

We just finished with our second child in the program, and everything is way worse. We've been through *8* Center Directors in as many years... each less competent than the one before. (The current one is solid but she's "interim.") The staff turnover is so rapid that we hardly get to know the new teachers before they leave. Despite our sky high tuition, the teachers are not paid a livable income for the location. Rooms are constantly closed and combined due to staff shortages. Staff morale is perpetually low and they feel unappreciated and unsupported by the Company (their words, not my characterization). The curriculum used to include science and walks and field trips and cool projects... all of which are gone. They used to use a cool gym with a climbing wall and a play structure. But then that became a storage facility. It recently reopened but has none of the prior features and amenities. Our first child left prepared for kindergarten due to the solid K-Prep program. But K-Prep has turned into glorified (and outrageously expensive) babysitting. They seem to do more beading than learning numbers and letters. Our second child had a far inferior experience and education, most notably at the K-Prep level. We kept hoping things would improve, but in retrospect we should have cut our losses a year or two ago and moved to a better daycare. Things are so bad that even Bright Horizons middle managment acknowledges the issues. At her request, the Regional VP of Operations had a standing call with my wife to learn about what was going wrong at the Center. With a great location and a once top notch physical plant (showing serious neglect 8 years later), this center should be a shining star in the Bright Horizons orbit. Instead, it's a huge underperformer, as evidenced by multiple vacant classrooms. I hope that the Company can get its act together and save a center that played such a central role in our children's early years. But they've been (seemingly) trying for so long that I'm pessimistic that any change is on the horizon. I am happy to chat with any prospective parents to provide more color to help you avoid the frustration we've experience.

They were okay letting me come visit whenever, and even invited parents in for story time. They helped her gain some independence with napping and bottles as well. Of course after covid, parents can't go into the classroom but I'm sure it will be back to normal eventually. Ms Denise is the nicest teacher and really made our family feel connected. Also, since my daughter was out of daycare for a few months, when she came back and transitioned to the waddler room Ms Denise made her a memory book of her first year with photos and art projects! It was so nice that she did that even though our daughter missed a couple months! Waddler room teachers are also great! Our daughter was always super happy when we picked her up and they did a lot of fun activities. Overall the curriculum is great- safe space for kids to move with lots of music and art throughout the day. They have themes and vocabulary lessons too. Then there's this one poor little boy who sits by himself staring at the ground all the while the teachers chat it up. If this was my child, I'd be heartbroken. This happens on the regular. We went inside to do a tour and all the students were rude to my daughter. Some of the "teachers" looked like they had zero education. Think about who guides your children. These are not the people you want. Then jve tried to call them. No one ever pics up the phone or it's disconnected. Then the person who emails is extremely short and rude. I'm guessing the reason they get kids to come is because it's tied into Gatewood. Unfortunately, Gatewood is the school my daughter will go to but with this level of education in the pre k program, I'm worried about the level of care my grade school child might not get.

My son absolutely loves all of the teachers and their programming. Any time I voice a concern (like my son being rough, other kids being rough), Laura and the staff have been clearly invested in ensuring that their curriculum addresses the areas (beyond just academics) that the kids need to grow and thrive in -- such as socialization, being respectful, listening to their friends, etc. I highly recommend this wonderful school!
