My daughter, now 3.5 yrs., has attended the Sammamish Kindercare since she was 9 months old and I could not say enough about the center director, assistant director, or teachers / staff. When she started in the infant classroom, Ms. Tammy immediately connected with my daughter. She's such a loving and calm teacher. She's still super close to my little one even though she's in the preschool class. When my daughter joined the toddler and discovery preschool classes, she also had great experiences. The teachers were loving, yet also firm when needed and helped reinforce many of the skills being taught at home. She especially loved Ms, Jennifer (now the center's Asst. Director). Every single day my daughter looked forward giving her a big hug upon arrival. Ms. Ella was equally as special to my little one. We are also very familiar with Ms.Charu, Ritu, and Artuneta. The teachers really work well together to provide the best care daily. The activities are also very engaging. Now my daughter is in the preschool classroom and is being prepared for pre-k nicely. She attends a wonderful phonics class 2x weekly with Ms. Tanzy. Hands down this class has enhanced her letter recognition and writing skills. She's even starting to read words. Ms. Antura, her preschool teacher, incorporates very interactive lessons they keep the kids' attention. I'm 100% certain my daughter will be more than ready for kindergarten when the time comes because of the love and care provided to our daughter and family. Last, Ms. Seema, is the absolute best center director I've ever met. She is very organized, kind, has always been willing to discuss questions or concerns, etc. She is truly a director that's immersed in the activities taking place at the center. I'm just so thankful for Sammamish KinderCare's and would recommend it to any parent looking for a place to care for their child. read more

My daughter attended the Sammamish Kindercare for nearly two years. The staff were fantastic! They showed genuine care and concern for my daughter's emotional and developmental needs. On the day of scheduled tour nobody called. When I called them myself, nobody picked up the phone. On a second try director told something like "yeah, something came up, so we couldn't make it". No apology, no suggestion for rescheduling. I suggested to reschedule, and well, nobody called this time either, nor someone warned me that this time "something came up". read more

I am really worried about before putting my daughter after reading the review about the previous director. But I had no choice, that is the only available place for me at that moment. I have to say they did a great job taking care of my daughter. I loved all the teachers there, especially Anisha and Jennifer in toddler class since they are main teacher for my daughter. All other teachers are great too, I didn't even recall their names but they all great! Seema is a great director as well. The only concern I had is when I drop my kids, she can't see her main teacher and it took a bit longer time to settled down for her. Other teachers were always telling Anisha was her second mom, she got so attached to her. Anyways, I am very happy with them. I sent my elder daughter there for summer camp and I am very happy since I don't need to cook lunch for her every morning:-) And My daughter missed Seema a lot when she went for vacation. read more

I give five star to Sammamish KinderCare. My daughter started leaving our house and going to daycare when she was a few days from her 1-year-old birthday. We were so afraid and felt guilty of sending such a little person out during covid-19. Yet, we didn't have another choice. Both of us had to work. Ms Seema (the director) and Ms Tammy (the teacher) were angels to us and to our daughter. My daughter stopped crying on day three. And whenever she hears we say 'Ms Tammy', she smiles. Ms. Seema called us the first week, telling us how my daughter was doing at school. She also uses an app to capture my daughter's photos while in there. We really appreciate it. They did a great job in transitioning my daughter to the toddler class. They moved my daughter together with her closest friend from the infant class. They let them try a few hours every day, with Ms Tammy, until they are ready to move over themselves. I also like that they have a teacher who can speak Mandarin -- Ms Jennifer. I think that helped a ton with the transition. In children's eyes, Ms Jennifer might look like mama because they both speak same language, have black eyes and black hair. And Ms Jennifer is just so sweet! I appreciate their strict covid protocol. They take temperature every morning during drop-off. Parents are only allowed to be in the lobby, and only one parent at a time. If kids have runny nose, they will call and suggest they stay at home until all systems are gone. read more

I had to move my 1 year old in 2017 from a home based daycare and chose this place since this was the only place worked for me. I was very happy with and Tammy in baby room who was extremely caring and helped my son ease into the daycare. While all the teachers were good, I was planning on changing him to another daycare. Ranu Lamba, then director was pretty offensive to the staff, arrogant, disrespectful to parents. She wouldn't address parent's concerns, makes up rules on the fly. We were about to find another daycare, then Ranu left the center. I must say most parents and every teacher were delighted with the news. Seema Nagar took over as director and really turned around the center. Teacher churn reduced dramatically, every concern was addressed immediately with follow ups. Seema is very respectful, energetic, sincere. Kids love her and she also is very good at disciplining them. The activities in the school are very good as well. We couldn't have been happier. Tammy, Jennifer, Antora, Priyanka, Neeta... all teachers good (I might have forgotten few) We are thankful for their love and care. I would definitely recommend this place read more

BEWARE!!! I have never written a negative Yelp review but feel this is the right thing to do. This review is specifically about management Ranu Lamba, who is the director. I have recently decided to pull my son from Kindercare, Sammamish and glad I did. I have walked in on her on 3 different occasions verbally abusing her staff. Yelling at them like they're nothing. Screaming at them to ""hurry up, let's go, work faster!! If you don't work faster I'll send you home"" The poor lady looked like she wanted to cry. I have never seen anything like it. She is very degrading to her employees and It really hurts to watch this director get away with it. Many of them can't speak good english so she feels she can talk to them negatively like they're beneath her. They are so terrified of her! In the few months my son was at this school I have seen 4 teachers quit. NOT a good sign and very concerning to me. Every time I would try to talk with her about my child she would rush me and dismiss what I was concerned about. As a mother it's important to me to know how my son is doing in school. I don't like to be ignored or called a "liar". She never has time for talking with parents and made me feel like I should be afraid to ask questions. I am very worried and concerned for future parents and employees. Ranu should be investigated and fired for unprofessionalism and verbal abuse I will be sending a letter to corporate office and I will be letting everyone I know not to even think about bringing their child to this school! read more

Our daughter started visiting this center when she was just 6 months old. We were VERY nervous as we were first time parents and just had a really bad experience with the irresponsible staff at the neighboring Le Petit daycare. Our daughter had natural separation anxiety issue that almost all infants have. I must say Ranu (The director) and Chelsea (Infant room teacher) have been nothing less than god sent for us. 1. Both Ranu and Chelsea exude passion for their jobs. Ranu is a top notch manager uncompromising for quality, hygiene and protocols both with her staff and also with parents. I would rather trust my daughter with somebody that sets high standards is honest, direct and candid. 2. At KinderCare Sammamish you don't get a feeling you are dumping your kids just so you could go to work. Kids as small as my daughter actually do fun stuff together. They share pictures of activities Kids do. The daycare is super organized and clean with well set processes. There is a clear hand off between parents and teachers and between teachers themselves between shifts. 3. Ms Chelsea a favorite for all the little babies. They LOVE her. She reads stories, sings. plays, teaches. The first couple of weeks are always hard but both Chelsea and Ranu took extra care of not only our daughter but also me and my wife in terms of showing respect to our anxieties as first time parents. Within a coupe of months our daughter as attached to Ms Chelsea as she us to us and I have absolutely no complains :) Being a parent who recently went through the horrifying search for the right daycare, I truly hope thee were more daycares like this one. read more

This center has entirely changed for the better after Ranu Lamba was finally gone and Seema Nagar became the director. We were trying to find another daycare center for our kids after many bad experiences with Ranu. Ranu was abusive with the staff, teacher turnover was a terrible problem, she lied to us in multiple occasions... The worst part was that our kids were really unhappy in this place. Now with Seema in charge we can definitely recommend this center. What else can I say, think Sunnyside Daycare with and without Lotso in charge and you get the idea. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Ms. Seema and her team are very passionate about whatever they do for the kids. I have two kids - 18 mo and 4 yo. They enjoy the school so much that my younger one doesn't want to come back home. The teachers are very caring and listen to our concerns patiently. The teachers are caring and lovely. We eventually left the center because of the director Ranu Lamba. She may love children but she is not qualified to run this place. She lacks the communication skills, organization, and work ethics to be in such a position. If you can put with her, then you will be fine. We've had two kiddos attend Sammamish KinderCare full-time over the past consecutive 5 years. Our youngest started in infant care and has since recently "graduated" from the pre-K class. Over that span of time we've seen tremendous growth in both kids, both socially and educationally, that we truly believe this school has helped foster and grow. From day 1, the level of compassion and care for our kids has been obvious. Kids at this age don't have filters and their honesty is often unfiltered (good and bad), and yet over these 5 years we've *never* heard a negative comment about a teacher or staff member that they experienced. In fact it's been the opposite, they regularly talked about their teachers positively and have consistently looked forward to going to school each day/week. And when we've occasionally run into staff member outside of the school, on the weekend and around town, our kids lit up and we've experienced the same personality and welcoming attitude in those situations too. It's also worth noting that we toured multiple daycare places in the area when we were researching before we decided on Sammamish KinderCare. During that time we paid close attention to the physical property, building, and classrooms and spaces. This school is not off a main road (no thru traffic), it's quiet, it's kept clean and well decorated, safety measures are obvious, it's well lighted, and the outdoor space is larger than the average preschool and backs up to nice natural wooded area where kids occasionally see deer. The lunch provided daily has good healthy variety, and I know our kids will miss it (we often hear how good dishes are at the dinner table). Finally, there's been some previous comments about the director, Ranu - I'd like to add my perspective. My wife has known Ranu and her family for over 10 years. I first met Ranu when we initially toured the school 5 years ago. While everyone's perspective differs, mine is she's one of the more passionate people I've met. I work in software and I manage and work with a lot of passionate, smart, direct and honest people. She's all of those, and more - and I've appreciated her honesty and attention to details and quick resolution to questions or minor things have come up over our time. Her passion and sheer drive to lead the school to the highest standards is something that could likely be perceived negatively or off-putting out of context. I'm not going to try and assume others' perspectives. But for me, I now have 5 years of experience partnering with Ranu, her assistant director and the staff members we've encountered over the years. It's been an overwhelmingly positive experience. And last but not least, the authentic love for kids is 10/10. Thank you Ranu and staff, over the years. It's been a pleasure and we'll remember what our children learned and gained from spending these past 5 years with you all. Hello all, One mustn't judge this facility by comments left by upset parents. I read the reviews before touring the building and meeting a few staff members including the head director. I enrolled my son Jax who's four at this early childhood development center and I couldn't have chosen a better campus. My schedule is tight, living in Sammamish while serving in the Army and traveling to Fort Lewis and back Monday through Friday I needed a place that I found to be safe and secure for my son. The staff are constantly cleaning, there is always a teacher with our children, codes are required to enter the main corridor, I'm constantly updated on my son development and when I go to pick him up I'm greeted with dignity and respect. What more could you really ask for? Though my experience here my differ from other parents, I highly recommend that you at least tour the campus and base judgment for yourselves. read more

We had our child at KinderCare Sammamish for half a year. Although we didn't want her to make the experience of changing to a new environment after a relatively short time we had no choice but to take her out of this place. Initially, things were really fine, however there was a sudden change in her behavior indicating a very high level of discomfort when reaching there every morning. The really disturbing thing for us was that the director not only didn't want to discuss the topic, but rather put all our concerns immediately aside. Ranu can be very intimidating. Having an honest and open conversation about the best interest of the child is not really possible with her. read more

I have nothing but praise for the teachers and staff, including Ms Seema (Director), Ms Tansy, Ms Gauri and Ms Shilpa (Phonics & Maths)! It is a very loving, healthy, responsible and enriching environment. My son attended for 2.5 years since 2013 and he thrived under the care, and discipline of the team then. He is now making us proud in Elementary school! Now my daughter has been attending since 2016 and I'm equally happy, especially with the new management continuing and expanding on the standards set by the center. Every teacher cares for her and she is loving the phonics, Math and other extra curricular activities that are being facilitated at the center. Because of the teachers support and advice, her potty training started way in advance of my expectations and was surprisingly successful! I like the flexibility of timings and the new changes in food/ menu. Any concerns and questions are addressed immediately by the Director or her team in her absence. It is a very happy and busy place. KinderCare is also constantly make changes and improvements to their approach to childcare which is refreshing and very reassuring to me as a parent. read more

This is for the Sammamish Kindercare I ultimately pulled my kids out of the Sammamish Kindercare after two weeks there. It wasn't a happy experience for me and I don't recommend it to others. In those two weeks, my younger daughter (18 months) had one kid smack her in the face with a door and on a separate occasion came home with a bitemark on her arm (very visible). The kid smacking her with the door I didn't like but I understand when there are kids around, things happen (though I wasn't happy that the kids were so unsupervised two of them could play near the door area.) The bite I was a bit more upset about, owing to the fact they never noticed it. I had to contact them about it. After I called the supervisor and she talked to the teachers, she told me no one saw any biting and no one noticed the bite mark on her arm while she was at the school. That told me a lot on how observant they are around the children. Please remember, these are 18 month olds we are talking about. While I don't expect eyes on them every second, I would expect a somewhat close supervision. That they missed both the initial bite and never noticed a very visible bite mark on her arm afterwards made me very concerned. The final straw was when my older daughter was slapped on the playground. Now, please note, for this story I SAW EVERYTHING. This is not a circumstance of a 4-year-old relating it to me and me sharing it second hand. No, everything said here is from my own observation. At the end of the day I was picking up my children. All the kids were on the playground. As I was asking the teacher about how my daughters did that day I looked around and located my daughters. While the teacher was talking to me and we were both observing my daughter, a boy slapped my daughter across the face. There is that one second where everything sort of stops, that "Did that really happen?" second where you are processing what you thought you saw did indeed happen. After that second, the teacher restarted her talk on how their day went. I had to tell the teacher, "I think we need to check on my daughter first!" I went over to my daughter while the teacher went to the boy. To make a long story short, I was EXTREMELY uninpressed with how the teacher handled the situation. The boy was never placed in any type of timeout or any punishment at all. While the teacher was talking to him, the boy was looking everywhere, and finally wandered off before the teacher finished speaking. The teacher didn't stop him. The teacher didn't ask how my daughter was. The only thing she said to my daughter that related to what just happened was, "We'll make sure he keeps his hands to himself from now on." There was no mention of writing up the incident, talking to the boy's parents, etc. All in all, she was unconcerned that my daughter had just been slapped in the face. --- I should add here this was an unprovoked slap. There were no arguments or anything physical happening before the slap. My daughter was just hit out of the blue. Again, I know this because I WAS LOOKING RIGHT AT HER BEFORE IT HAPPENED. I mention this because when I called the center supervisor later she said the teacher mentioned something about kids arguing, and I said, "Stop right there and save your breath. I saw everything, and your teacher is wrong." --- After seeing how poorly the center took care of the incident while I was standing there watching, I no longer trusted them to take care of my kids or felt safe leaving my kids there. In two weeks there were three disturbing incidents. I wasn't giving them any other chances. I will say I liked several of the people there, I felt the facility was very safe, and I felt the upkeep and cleaning was done at a good level. That's the reason I give it 2 stars. I should also say my kids were there during the summer and that the facility was going through some sort of inspection. Perhaps with both of these going on the facility was a little more lax than usual, I don't know. Give that the weight you want to. Overall though, there is no way I'd take my kids back there. read more

We've had an amazing experience here with two of our kids. My daughter was 18 months when she started attending this daycare. She has learned so many wonderful social skills as well as reading and math! She is now in first grade at Margaret Meade and reading on a 4th grade level! I attribute much of this success to the amazing start she got at KinderCare! My son started at only 3 months old, and it brings me so much joy to see how well he's taken care of here and how happy he is to join his teachers and friends every morning! When I drop him off in the mornings, what I see reassures me that he's happy and well taken care of, and I couldn't ask for more! The director of Sammamish KinderCare, Ranu Lamba has been amazing about making sure the kids get top quality care and education in her facility! She's been so receptive and responsive to any and all of the feedback! However, she also goes a step further and makes us feel like a part of her family. When I was out of town on a work conference, she has sent my husband home with sandwiches when he came to pick up our son! I also love getting the pictures that the staff takes while my kids are in the care of KinderCare! It's another reassuring token and makes me feel a bit more connected to my kids when I can't physically be with them. I feel extremely lucky that we found this daycare and were able to send both of our kids here! read more

We are lucky parents to have found such a great place for our son at Sammamish Kindercare. Our son is in the infant room and he loves his teachers. He started daycare couple of months back and he immediately accommodated with the new environment, teachers and the other babies. He was able to accommodate so quickly because of his teachers. They are loving, caring, wonderful with the kids, professional and hard-working. The crew is wonderful! Kids, they are sincere and they will immediately tell/show you if they don't like something. Our son LOVES this place: he doesn't cry when we leave him in the morning, he is having a good time with his playmates and his teachers, he eats his food and he learns new things every day. I have been festering for quite a while regarding my experience here and I think it is important for other parents to know before they come for a visit. Back in early July, I stopped into this daycare to learn more about their program for my almost two year old. I was greeted by the director, Ranu Lamba. This was my first tour I had taken of a daycare setting and expressed this to the director, explaining to her that I was a bit nervous because my daughter had never been to a daycare before (my husband and I have had the luxury of staying home with her). To this she looked shocked and stated over and over how hard this was going to be for my daughter. She encouraged me to look at other places (looking back I believe this was her way of saying don't come here) and when she asked if my not even two year old was potty trained, she looked horrified when I told her no and stated that all of the students in her two year class are potty trained! Ok, that's great except does she have no clue that this isn't even developmentally appropriate??? She continued to tell me repeatedly how difficult this was going to be for my daughter and even whispered in a sweet voice to her, "You have no idea what is about to happen!" When asked if I could see a classroom, she stated that she couldn't show me a class until after her NAEYC visit which means she couldn't show me a class until August. AUGUST? That was over a month away. She clearly didn't want me or my child to come to her daycare. I left that visit sick and crying wondering what I was about to do to my child. Since this was my first visit to any daycare, I thought this was how things went. Since then, I've been to half a dozen other programs and never ONCE had the experience I had here. It was absolutely terrible. Luckily, I work in a position in the community where I interact with preschool age students everyday (and have extensive knowledge (considerably more than this director) regarding early childhood development) and interact daily with parents, not only professionally but also as the mother of a toddler, to steer families away from this program. read more

The teachers are very welcoming & Ms. Ranu goes an extra mile to ensure the kids are learning & having fun. When deciding where to send your children for daily care you want to feel they are a part of a family and deeply cared for and respected. We have found that here at Sammamish Kindercare. Our now 5 year old came to the facility at the age of 2 and we enrolled our 1 year old at the age of 5 months. We have always felt that the staff nurtures and guides our children to be their best and knows exactly when they're having a tough day and may need extra hugs or patience. The phonics program has been a wonderful addition to my 5 years monthly curriculm. Our 5 year old is not only reading at an advanced level but has developed a love for books and creative writing which is a lifetime gift. The director is actively involved with the care of the children and safety of the facility and even goes out of her way to provide extra support for families such as Friday date night care, providing extra curriculm for children to continue advancing and comprehending in a given area or even meals when a parent may be out of town for an extended period of time. I would highly recommend visiting the facility if you are considering daycare in the Sammamish area. read more

Hi! My almost 5 year old has been going to KinderCare for the past 1.5 years, and he has learnt a lot! He wrote his first letter, his first number within 3 months of joining the Phonics program, and is now beginning to read with some assistance:) I just enrolled him in the Math program looking at his enthusiasm for learning, and I'm eagerly waiting to see what he picks up! I believe the environment is very disciplined, healthy and kids have a lot of fun. I like the outdoor play area, and for rainy/very hot days, they also have a dedicated indoor 'gym' which is awesome to burn that excess energy irrespective:) There has been some churn in the last year so the staff has changed very rapidly but all teachers/director make sure they are communicating his daily activities and any special things he did/said to me:) I also like the summer camp in which kids get to do a totally different set of activities.
