My heart is so full. HUGE shout out to Erica at A NewConception 3D 4D Ultrasound Studio in Hanover. My family had a very negative experience we had today at Atrius Health in Weymouth. The sonographer specifically was sarcastic, unprofessional, and rude. She told me next time get a sitter and in a snarky manner told me "Ha, no, they aren't going in with you" without even as much as a hello or explanation when we were "greeted" if you can call it that. My husband and 2 sons were quickly unwelcomed. She then shared that even without COVID - "kids don't belong at ultrasounds." The pictures were trash and I didn't even get to hear a heartbeat. You never know how long a family has been trying to grow or the story behind how special this moment might be to share. Our oldest didn't even know we were expecting and today was our day to share that he'd be a big brother again. Fast forward to a Google search on the way home that led to us calling A New Conception and Erica fit us in this evening. Our temperatures were taken beforehand and we applied sanitizer and wore masks appropriately. For less than 70$ we received the following: - Kindness - Professionalism - Hearing the heart beat - 15 minute 2D/3D/4D ultrasound session - 4, 4 x 6 glossy printed pictures - Many thermal black & white printed images - Got to watch our baby swim and dance in 4D live motion - All images and the video were uploaded directly to our Free Babyflix app to share (which we did as soon as we got home to announce on FB) - We got to put our recorded baby's heartbeat into a stuffed animal of my son's choosing for him to take home build-a-bear style (additional cost) The room was huge with multiple TVs around with the ultrasound feed. There was a whole child's area to keep our 2 year old occupied while dad and our 6 year old watched it all unfold. The images were crystal clear. We saw baby moving about, the cord pulsating, and watched as the heart was beating. This was the moment I was hoping for today. Cannot thank Erica and the team enough for their kindness today and giving us this special moment. Would recommend 100%. read more

At first they weren't the most friendly environment but once we got in to do the ultrasound everything was amazing. Erica was super patient and gave me beautiful images. Their machine is so amazing! Cannot even express how much I love this place !! It is a heaven sent ! Everyone there is so warm and welcoming! Also very nice that they let you bring up to 10 people because doctors office ultrasounds don't let you bring a lot of people in and I want my son to be able to be apart of this experience!! I'm not going to be able to get an ultrasound till 20 weeks so going there at 10 put my mind at ease and getting to see my little bean made me happy! We really enjoyed the live HD video, however I was really hoping to at least get 1 image of my baby that I could cherish myself forever and also share with my family. All the black and white images and the 2 HD pictures that came with my package are really terrible. They look nothing like what was shown on the screen, you can't even tell it's a baby. Really disappointed that I walked away with nothing to share with my friends and family. I was also shocked by the $20 PPE fee, doesn't seem reasonable especially since they have to throw those things away after every use anyways. I don't think they used any out of the ordinary sanitary or protection items. The bed that you sit on does not have a liner, which I found kind of gross. I would not recommend this place. read more

My husband and I had a 3D 4d ultrasound last night and it was such a great experience. Kim the owner was fabulous despite our baby wanting to hide her face. We had an hour drive there and it was so worth it we will Be back for future pregnancies. The video of the ultrasound is so precious and is a real keepsake that I know our baby will watch one day. I brought my 4 year old daughter with me to see her little sister on an ultrasound and they were so sweet with her :) I was able to book an appointment for the week that I wanted and got a ton of great pictures of my daughter! My husband and I were so pleased with our experience at A New Conception this past weekend. My mom decided to treat us to a special ultrasound as a gift for my birthday, and I chose the South Shore Sweetness package. I was going to wait until 30 weeks to schedule my appt, but my in-laws happened to be in town from NY celebrating their birthdays, so my husband and I thought it would be a wonderful surprise for them to see their new grandson! I am 22 weeks, and our baby has been stubborn in his positioning- he was laying on his belly and showing us a lot of spine when we were getting our actual doctor ultrasounds, so I was hoping he would cooperate during our appt here. Needless to say, he had other plans :) We arrived about 15 minutes before our appt, and I went in and filled in all of the paperwork until the rest of our family arrived. We had myself and 7 of our family members in the room with us. There were plenty of TVs and seats for everyone to enjoy the show comfortably. Erika was wonderful the whole time! My family is not shy, and they loved making jokes throughout the appointment- Erika laughed right along with us. Our little guy was pretty stubborn, and wanted to cover his face with his arm or show us how cute the back of his head could be, but Erika was not deterred. She had my switching positions, and she found such wonderful snapshots of our little guy! After, I had all of my photos and the video of the whole experience available online and on the BabyFlix app so that I could share it with those that couldn't make it, like my grandparents. Erika also recorded our baby's heartbeat, and my mom bought us an adorable stuffed wolf to put the heartbeat in. My mother-in-law loved it so much, she also bought a teddy bear and Erika made an additional recording of the heart beat to give to her. We had such a wonderful experience, and my family can't stop raving about how excited they are not they have feel like they've met our guy. We can't wait to go back- we got a return card that will let us come back for only $50. Thanks again ladies for a great experience! read more

Mothers-to-Be, especially those in the first or early second trimester, be very, very weary of this business. If I could give zero stars or less, I would. We scheduled an appointment with "A New Conception" for their "Sneak Peak" (9-15 week) 3D/4D ultrasound. Having previously seen our baby at 7 weeks in our doctor's office, we were excited to see him or her on screen again at 10 weeks. The technician was unable to locate the baby, and called Kim Wallace (the owner) in to try. We mentioned my wife's tilted uterus and Kim still seemed confident that the abdominal ultrasound would be effective. Kim located the uterus and looked from several different angles to find the baby. She mentioned that "the baby might be hiding"; however, after several different angles and positions, she was not able to locate the baby. She asked if there had been any bleeding (no) and proceeded to tell us that she was sorry to say that "there was no baby, and that it was possible (since there had been no bleeding) that our baby may have been reabsorbed into the body". We were devastated to hear this news, and Kim printed two pictures to take with us to show our doctor. We then left and immediately phoned our midwife's office. Our midwife called in a referral for an emergency ultrasound and we went directly to Mt. Auburn. As soon as we were in the room and settled, the ultrasound technician was able to easily locate our healthy, active, waving 10-week old baby. We showed the ultrasound pictures from A New Conception and the technician quickly told us "Well, of course you wouldn't see a baby there - that's your bladder". There are simply NO WORDS to express how inexcusable and irresponsible Kim Wallace was to make a medically based, diagnostic statement such as "There is no baby". The amount of undue stress placed on my wife at such a critical time is shameful. The staff at A New Conception and Kim Wallace herself should be aware of the limitations of their knowledge, equipment and skill. To be unable to discriminate between a bladder and uterus is truly disgraceful. Mothers-to-be and those that love those mothers-to-be, we SO STRONGLY discourage your patronage of this business, to save yourselves the undue heartache that you may experience. Trust your medical professionals and those with appropriate certification, experience and expertise. read more

To be clear, there should be no stars for this review. Zero. This was the worst experience of my entire life and there are not words enough to appropriately express how devastating my appointment here was. The amount of stress put on me by incompetent and inept staff is immeasurable. Boston area moms, I hope that you see this review and take it into consideration so that you do not have to endure what I went through yesterday. I would not wish that distress on anyone. I went to A New Conception yesterday (4/12/14) for the early sneak peak ultrasound. I'm 10 weeks pregnant with our first baby and have spent the last week looking so forward to this appointment and the chance to see our baby. The first ultrasound technician had difficulty finding the baby and called in Kim to try. The tech mentioned that they had "just started with the early ultrasounds", so she wasn't as good at finding the babies. Kim came in and tried (after telling her I had a titled uterus) for several minutes to find the baby. She had me roll to my sides to use different views and still was unable to locate the baby. Kim asked if I had had any bleeding -- which I haven't -- and proceeded to tell me that she was so sorry to say that there "was no baby in my uterus" and that "it was possible that the body just reabsorbed the baby". I don't even remember the rest of the appointment because I was in such a state of shock and disbelief. Kim gave us two pictures of my empty uterus to show to the doctor. We immediately went to Mt. Auburn where we had a referral from our midwife for an emergency ultrasound. The tech at Mt. Auburn found our perfect, bouncing baby immediately, measuring right on track at 10 weeks, with a strong, steady heartbeat. Our baby is completely and perfectly fine. We showed the tech the pictures Kim gave us. Her reply? "Of course you wouldn't see a baby there! That's your bladder!" Kim, you simultaneously ruined what was supposed to be a wonderful and exciting day for us and shattered my heart, all in one breath. The two hours between our appointment with you and the ultrasound at Mt. Auburn were the worst of my life. You told me that I had lost my baby. Do you have any idea what that feels like? You are not a doctor. You are not a medical professional. You had no right to make such a comment to me and send me into the emotional tailspin that you did with your faulty information and inability to identify anatomical landmarks. OFFERING ELECTIVE ULTRASOUND SERVICES TO PREGNANT WOMEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT COMPETENT ENOUGH TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BLADDER AND UTERUS IS UNACCEPTABLE. read more

Love love love this place. I cannot recommend it enough. I got my first US here at 8 weeks and have been there 6 times since then! Erica and her mom Kim are amazing and make you feel so comfortable! I did the curious mama package and I recommend it to any mama that may be a bit anxious throughout pregnancy. Seeing your baby can put your mind at ease and make you feel so much better! I went today at 32 weeks and I am hoping to get back one more time before baby Sofia arrives! read more

We had a wonderful experience last night at our gender sneak peak ultrasound. The tech was very friendly and determined to tell us the gender despite our baby being stubborn. The only thing I was not thrilled about was the quality of the pictures and video they sent. Out of the 15 or so pictures we got, you can only make out the baby clearly in one or two of them. And the video almost made you dizzy to watch because it was just blobs moving around the whole time. All in all, it was awesome to see our baby and we will definitely be back! read more

I'm a first time mom & went in for an early ultrasound yesterday at around 8 weeks. I knew there wouldn't be much to see but was in desperate need of some peace of mind. The studio is super cute, clean, welcoming, and efficient. Erica found my baby right away even though it was so small and measuring a few days behind 8 weeks. She was able to show me some great images, answer some questions, and display the heartbeat very clearly. I went with my best friend and we both started tearing up when we heard it! A recording of it was then put in an adorable stuffed panda :) I am so glad I went and will absolutely be going back. Thank you Erica & staff! read more

I am honestly sincerely disappointed with the way the receptionist handled my little sister's appointment. This is the day we had been waiting for for a very long time - the day we found the gender of the child. We are from Lowell, and got stuck in very bad traffic. We had been in the car for two hours. Throughout, we had been keeping in touch with the receptionist to let her know we were running late. She seemed to give us little bits of hope as we were weary on the road, but she was quite rude in telling us after we had gotten into Boston after two hours of restless driving that she would not be able to fit in my little sister. I understand these situations happen all the time, yet I was very discouraged especially after explaining that I am a teacher and was not attending a certain event as the representative of my department in order to be with her. She had spoken with the technician, Erica, who agreed she would not be able to fit us in for 15 minutes, explaining that the other clients would be angry. I could not believe her lack of empathy (not to mention the 15 minutes I was on the phone listening to her tell me why she couldn't extend her mercy). In short, this was meant to be a pleasurable experience for my little sister and we were left without mercy. You can keep our 50$ cancellation fee. This child is not worth your rude, merciless attitude and we will certainly not be raising him/her to behave the way the receptionist did tonight. read more

Really great experience here. We did the sweet pea gender reveal. Our tech was great. She was very determined to get the gender even though our baby was being camera shy. She took her time and did a great job. Out of all the pictures we got, though, only in a few could you really see the baby. But all in al, it was great. They will definitely try to upsell you dvds and the heartbeat bears (which we fell for both!) but they are a for profit company so that's to be expected. We'll probably go back again for more 3D images when the baby is bigger. read more

I think one star maybe be to much . I am sorry but I was very disappointed . I could barely see anything and my daughter was 15 weeks . I read reviews and seems to be a lot of good ones and I don't get it . I have 5 children and have had many ultra sounds this wasn't good . I bought 3D but seemed to all 2D . Very small amount of 3D. The still shots on video of the 3 D look like nothing . The technician was awful . Moved around the wand way to much . She kept referring to it as a he before actually telling us . My daughter said she really wasn't even pushing on belly very hard . I don't think she knew what she was doing . The video is 15 minutes of glimpses of a baby . Very very disappointed . read more

I just had my first 3d/4d ultrasound last night and have to say, this place is wonderful!! The owner, Kim, is a sweetheart and very accommodating. I wanted to find out the gender of our baby and she said she would try for as long as it took to see what we needed to see. The ultrasound room is large with big flat screen tv's, a toy bin in case you have other little ones with you, a large comfy sofa and generally speaking a very cute, clean room. I am definately going back here for better images when I'm a little further along and I would recommend A New Conception to anyone. read more

This place is wonderful and amazing and EVERY pregnant woman should go to see Kim. After some terrible, impersonal hospital ultrasounds, Kim was a breath of fresh air and really puts the magic back into being pregnant. The office itself smells amazing and has a warm, inviting waiting room. Then you get taken back the ultrasound room and you can't help but gasp at the fact that is perfect. Two big screen TV's and a large inviting couch (you are invited to bring as many friends and family as you would like) and a REALLY comfortable bed make up the room. Kim shows you your baby and explains the baby's movements etc. We had her determine the sex a week before our hospital ultrasound and it was so special, so much so that my husband even cried! We will be back with my mom as my pregnancy progresses. If you are a first time mom, or any pregnant woman looking for a unique, special ultrasound experience, I beg you to visit A New Conception. It is nothing like the hospital experience, and is totally affordable. read more

I had the most amazing Early Peek U/S at 8 weeks with Erica at A New Conception! I got so much more than I ever expected and all for $38! I left with tons of printed photos, a stuffed puppy with a recorded heartbeat of the baby and a welcome bag for new mommies! and I felt like I learned so much during my visit too as this was my very first U/S! I will definitely be coming back for a Gender Reveal and I highly recommend this to any mommies! What an amazing concept! read more

Utterly disappointed in the quality of the images and dvd that were part of our $235 package as well as the inexperienced staff at A New Conception. Erica was our ultrasound tech and my entire family drove 2 hours to this place since it was the closest in our area. My husband and I were having our first babies...yes twins...and we were so excited to share this experience with our family. Erica did not appear to have much knowledge about the process of using ultrasound or of twins outside of what everyone knows which is to walk around and turn to your side if the babies are being shy. While we understand the babies being shy, that is not what our lack of satisfaction is about. The entire ultrasound was rushed and each image was shown for less than a second...there's a foot...and it's gone before anyone can even look at the screen. I had let Erica know that I had a lot of pain in my right rib due to baby B being under it. She had suggested that she would be gentle in that area and then proceeded to press right into it for 15 minutes not attempting to go anywhere else. Also, EVERYONE knows that pregnant women after their first trimester (I was 28 weeks) DO NOT lay flat on their back. The bed used for the ultrasound I basically had to jump to get into and was told to climb on the couch if I need to! Really?! There was no support for the back nor any pillows to prop up on. There were 2 pillows that were as flat as could be and I spent 40 minutes lying flat on my back. The quality of the images were poor and that's even putting it nicely. The worst part was, we got home to watch the dvd with our family who was unable to be at the appt and what we found ourselves watching was completely unacceptable. Both times that Erica had me get up and move around and drink soda to get the babies to move she had not paused the video so there is 7 minutes of our video just sitting on a still image. Then as we get going again, the music stops half way in and the last half of the movie we all sit in silence watching images of the babies fly by with no sound. Completely unacceptable for the amount of money you pay for these packages. When I email them to give my feedback and express my disappointment, there is nothing but excuses in the response and how we should be happy that we got 8 extra min than twins usually get...too bad there was 19 minutes of our 35 min dvd that were on pause or had no music or sound at all. Then I am told that although Erica looks young she is in fact 25 years old...wow!! I'm sorry but 25 years old IS young and inexperienced to say the least when you consider how long she could've actually been doing this for. Completely unsatisfied and will not be going back. These techs need far more experience and education before they should be doing anything even related to prenatal ultrasound because "they love pregnancy." This is a very important time in the lives of most mothers and the lack of care and minimal quality in the outcome of the work for the outrageous prices is absurd! read more
