It's easy to start a team or to join as an independent player, the level of player is diverse (with plenty of room for folks new or out of soccer shape), and the general vibe is merry. Pros: - incredibly helpful customer service (go Vanessa!) - easy to join - reasonable price (~70.00 per person if a free agent, less if you make a team) - consistent location (at least for soccer) Cons: - website is a bit stiff to work with - ref experience is generally fine but can vary (all the refs are pleasant but not all are great at calling the game) Personal fit: - you'd need to check the league timing to see whether the days/times work for you - 1 to 2 games per week (7 v 7 sometimes 2, 11 v 11 usually just 1) - I sometimes wish the games were a little longer... (7 v 7 is 25 minute halves) - the style is laid back - it gets competitive but some folks may want more competition than the league will offer - the skill level varies but is very friendly to new/out-of-shape players - some folks may want a more competitive league - minimum of extra rules (e.g., no macho rule) - I love this but may frustrate folks looking for league-restriction of skill level or play style Highly recommend you give the league a try if you think it fits your style.

I got a…read morebirthday gift for my SO to go on a 2 people 1,000 ft high parasail trip in the Puget Sound (we did it in Tacoma, but they also have another branch in Kirkland as well) and we couldn't be happier with this gift choice! We were super lucky as the day we went it was super sunny, allowing us to see a super clear view of Mt. Rainier from up and above! :)))) Out from the get go, Pacific Parasail was super responsive to our inquiry and booking. They were very accommodating to our requested day/time (because we called to book before the summer, they even offered the option of coming in early on before the season was supposed to open, since they happened to open early this year, too). When the weather turned bad (e.g. not their fault!), they called well ahead of time that the weather wouldn't be conducive to the activity and offered to reschedule. On the day of the activity, we also received confirmation text on details about time/place to meet and what to wear, too. The staff (both on the boat and at check in) were super polite and nice (despite the fact that we used Groupon deal as well). The trip itself takes about an hour. You get on a jet boat with 6-8 people and go out in the water for about an hour...then take turn to go on parasail for 10-15 min long...super awesome! As a bonus, our The gentlemen on our boat provided clear instruction on what we needed to know/do. We felt super safe (mind you, I have quite some fear of height)..and really enjoyed our unique activity --parasailing for the first time! If you had a chance, definitely check this activity out. Great for a date (with someone you know quite a bit), activities with your family (kids are fine, too!) or just something adventurous/scenic to enjoy the nature/view of PNW! Also, book ahead of time! They seem to get busy, especially in the summer when the weather is nice out there!

We did not have a good experience renting either the Rose Garden or the Pagoda House at the Pt…read more Defiance Park for our wedding July 1. Though we had rented the Garden for 2 hours for 500$ @ hr, campers set up blankets and picnic gear right next to our white chairs. No one from the parks department was there to help explain that we had rented the area. Obviously it is a public park, but having someone from the parks department there or a posted sign as a private party would have helped. Instead, at 3 different times members of our wedding party asked politely if the family would leave --that it was rented space--after more coaxing, the people left but it was awkward and frustrating and embarrassing as guests were beginning to sit. The Pagoda House for the reception was not clean, nor did their promised sound system connection work, and the password did not work. We were also told that we would need to set up the chairs, which is bad for a rental of 350$ @ hr, but that we would not have to tear down. However, a parks department employee then came by to tell us we did have to tear down, something we were not prepared for but did. The Parks Department wants to use these areas for weddings but are not prepared or willing to invest the infrastructure money to make them work well. Plus, poor communication seemed to rule the day as more than once I was asked to refill out certain sections of the paperwork for things like how many Rose Garden chairs and why did I not fill out the bar tending license information when we were having no alcohol. Escape rooms are the new craze and for good reason. They are entertaining and mind boggling…read more We were part of a 6-person group and we went through the most complicated escape room the Freight House Station has. We were with seasoned vets of escape rooms so we were fairly confident we'd get out. We didn't..... but only missed the mark by about 5 mins. We had a fun experience. The waiting area has coffee, candy, and brownies to nibble on while you wait your turn. The rooms we were in were challenging but not impossible - with a little help. The volunteer staff were super friendly and personable. If you get out before the time limit you could earn a free gift card!! And the proceeds of this escape room go to a food bank.... so go, have fun, and help out those in need.

We were looking for something to do with my oldest during some one on one time and KING is near our house - he's seen it out the car window many times, and we decided this would be the perfect time to visit. It's $10 per player to play which honestly isn't bad, and there's a full 18 holes. My son was 4 at the time that we went, so it took a little while for us to get through all of the holes which honestly was totally fine because we were glad he was able to have fun that whole time! The courses are well tended to and they're all fun. Some are a little challenging but isn't that the whole point? With them opening up for the season very soon, it's definitely a mental note of mine to take my son back now that he's a little older and nicer weather is upon us. You get to pick out fun colored golf balls and at night the whole facility is lit up with colorful bright lights giving it a really fun vibe. Definitely a cool family-friendly activity in the Puyallup/Edgewood area if you're on the hunt for one.
