Amazingly, he did 3 passes of the needle with only a numbing spray and I didn't even flinch - it wasn't a zero but he talked to me and explained exactly what he was doing so that distracted me enough for it to be a very mild amount of discomfort. Because I was in intense pain, the receptionist squeezed me in right away and the doctor saw me within half an hour of calling for the appointment (I live around the corner). I was expecting to wait at least a day to get in, so I was impressed. I explained to the doctor the situation, and after a quick look in my ear, he announced that my eardrum had ruptured--something two other doctors had missed. Not only that, he went above and beyond, going into detail to explain what happened and the potential ramifications. Thankfully I was all better within a week, but if I hadn't seen Dr. Miceli when I did, I may have lost my hearing. I am indebted.

My nose is still swollen but now, I can breathe better. After-surgery was a breeze with the EXCELLENT team at NYP in Brooklyn.
