My nine year old lab Piper just had her first grooming at A1 Pet Spa. Fabulous experience for her and me. She does not like being crated and the spa has a small run where she can be free as she waits. She also had a blueberry facial. Don't ask?! The staff was wonderful. This is THE place for your beloved furbabies. I've gone to several places all around the Springs and I've never been satisfied with either the way my dogs were treated or the job they did on them, but here, they were both treated kindly, with love, and the grooming done on each was completely amazing. Neither of my dogs were mad at me for taking them to get groomed or for leaving them with someone else for 3 hours. You can tell a lot by the way your pets react when you pick them up and they didn't seem scared, or loopy like they have been at other places. Bethany was amazing! We purchased a groupon for a bath and wanted to just try this place out, we ended up making a full grooming appointment over the phone. In the past we have gotten stuck up groomers who act like it's a problem to get our large dog groomed, not here. Everyone working was so welcoming and happy, there are cute little puppies free to roam around with little tiny bows on. She gave us an estimated time to pick up as well as the price. She had our dog done earlier than expected and the price was exactly what she quoted. She listened to what we would like done and did a phenomenal job! This location isn't close to our house but we don't mind making the drive. Just note it's cash or check only. Tip your groomer! read more

We are a military family new to town and purchased Groupons to try out the salon. I typically have my dogs bathed every 30-60 days. I was hopeful this salon would be our new go to grooming spot because it is close to home. When I booked the appointment for my dogs I explained that I had purchased Groupons and also the fact that both of my dogs are German shepherds. No mention of additional fees from the owner. When I dropped my dogs off there was no mention of additional fees or German Shepherd pricing. I did not sign paperwork of any kind, nothing. They simply wrote my pets names and my telephone number on a piece of paper. On the way to pick up my dogs I received a text message stating they only take cash or check and my total was $110. knowing I already have Groupons that are supposed to cover the cost of the bath I stop by the ATM on the way and get $40 to leave a $20 tip for each dog. I get to the salon and remind them of my Groupons and they tell me it is an additional $50($25 for each dog). They stated the additional cost is because they are German shepherds and the Groupon is for dogs with short hair like labs. my dogs are not long haired German shepherds. they are short haired west German, German Shepherds. They are heavy shedders but so are many other short haired breeds. I tried to argue my point a bit because the only thing stated in the Groupon fine print is that there would be additional fees for extra services and dogs over 75 lbs. My dogs are 68 and 71lbs. The groomer argued that she is having a conflict with Groupon about what is written and not written on the ad and that even though the ad doesn't say anything about hair/coat type or breed specifics I'm still going to be charged for it. mind you, I already purchased Groupon's for $39each(total of $78). the text they sent me said my total was $110. So now I have paid $39 + $25=$64 for each dog = $128. Their standard pricing without the Groupon as stated in their text message is $110 for both ... How exactly is paying $18 over their pricing (which they would have charged had I not reminded them of the Groupons) a good deal?? The whole point of Groupon is to give customers a chance to try your services at a discounted rate in an effort to expand clientele. In retrospect I should have just paid the $110 and called Groupon for a refund but I paid the extra $50 because I had a crying flailing infant in my arms and I needed to go. This was a huge disappointment. I'm not sure what's worse the fact that this was in no way a good deal to try a service and how ripped off I feel or that they really don't care about developing a loyal customer and retaining clients. They don't even realize or simply do not care how much money they are actually losing long term. How is this a good business practice? I was pretty offended and irate that they tell me my total is $110 and then make me pay a total of $128. No, $18 is not a lot of money but it's the principal. Luckily I had exactly $50 on me otherwise I would have had to load my kids up and go back to the ATM. Bottom line, if you have a German Shepherd it will cost you more to buy a Groupon vs. just taking your dog in and paying their regular price. This review is cross posted. read more
