I went on a drive having my eyes set on my usual park until I drove by Julliard park. I will say finding parking was a bit of a maze since I accidentally entered a neighborhood. But once I did find parking, I decided to walk through the park and was amazed of how nice and tranquil it is. Beautiful benches with artwork on them. I couldn't help but stop and look at them all. The grass was nice and green and ready for my dog and I to trek. There's also a bocce ball court for anyone that loves to play bocce ball! There was a nice little bridge I walked on that had a great view of the park as well. I walked the whole park and it was a great workout. I proceeded to walk the rest of art district and found an alley that had a mural within it and it was beautiful. I haven't walked here and taken time to come to this part of Santa Rosa, but it definitely won't be the last time I come through to check it out.

There are some really interesting fruits I've never seen before, such as a fuzzy apple that looks like a peach. There are also free audio tours available with a mobile phone. The gift shop is cute and full of unique things I haven't seen elsewhere. There is also a small history section, so it's worth checking out. Overall a pleasant stroll with some photo worthy spots of white arches and unique plants. If you're coming in season, you may also see some fruit on the trees! I spent a good 20-30min here, but you can definitely spend a little more if you decide to pay for the tour.

One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is how much there is to do. You can walk, hike or bike the beautiful trails around the park, fish in the lake, launch a kayak or paddleboard, or enjoy the swimming lagoon and its floating water playground, which is my stepson's favorite thing to do while camping. There's even the Environmental Discovery Center, which is such a fun educational experience for kids. I also love the convenience of being close to everything. If you forget something while camping, need groceries, or want to grab a meal, you're just a short drive from Santa Rosa. At the same time, once you're at the campground, it feels like you've escaped the everyday hustle. Not many trees or shade here at this park. There are bathrooms but are unclear if they were opened or not ? I know in summer during games they are. Not sure about the off season? It's an 1100-acre park with 15 miles of hiking. We've explored only a fraction, starting in the oak woodlands close to the parking lot and getting to the grassy hills (with cows!) as you go up. Apparently you can go up to the 1400-foot summit but we haven't made it that far.
