Easy to communicate with Hamid (who replied on Yelp and texted me by phone to schedule, per my request) and Huy, the technician that showed up the next morning. I wasn't totally sure what happened or how, but I came home from an overnight trip to find one of the side cables on our garage door had come undone and caused the door to close lopsided. Huy was prompt, kind and efficient. He took a look and set reasonable expectations about cost/time and what would be needed (new drum hardware and possibly a new cable), and then was able to re-use the cable which brought the final total under his initial estimate. He also gave advice about easy garage door maintenance that we definitely weren't doing before. I would give more than 5 stars if possible! thie review is long overdue as it refers to my experience back in mid-August 2025. This business is Transparent, Truthful & Honest, and very helpful with advice....all at no charge to me, AND I didn't even end up getting a garage door from them. Such honesty, and a strong desire to help a customer in need is a rarity in businesses these days. Let me explain. I have two metal/steel garage doors, with worn rubber weather stripping material at the bottoms (rodents had chewed though). I contacted A Plus Garage Doors and one other garage door company that has 5 star reviews, to ask if they are able to change out the weather strip for me. The other Garage door company , came out to give an estimate but was disappointing. Despite having the word "Repair" in their name, when I said I just need the weather stripping changed, the initial response was "We don't do That." He went on to explain that in order to get new weather stripping, those "Only come with new doors" so I would need to purchase new garage doors from them. He then began to upsell me and try to convince me why I needed new garage doors. When I re-iterated that my doors are working fine and I really just need the weather stripping changed, he finally said he could send out two workers but it would cost $700. I declined and was left with an uncomfortable feeling. Enter A Plus Garage Door to the rescue. Hamid responded to my yelp inquiry and was upfront that they typically work with WOoden doors, not metal/steel ones like mine. As such he explained that likely they do not readily carry the correct weather strip material that I needed. BUT he still offered to have someone stop by to take a look at my situation. Hamid was extremetly responsive via Text. At first I had originally told him no need to come out since I was meeting with that other Garage door company, but when that fell through I reached out to Hamid again to see if he can send someone over and give me further advice. He sent his installer, Huy, over to my place. Huy was amazing, he showed me what types of weather stripping material he had on hand, which did not fit my door. He informed me that I should be able to find the correct item at home depot or even Amazon, and he took the time to make sure I knew which type to purchase. He also demonstrated how easy it was to remove the old weather stripping, and gave me confidence that this would be a simple DIY that I could do. I offered to pay him to do the work for me, but he said it's so simple that I can do it myself and he encouarged me to save the money. He also gave advice on keeping my garage doors running smoothly. Huy was a stand up guy, honest, and did not try to upsell me on anything. When I asked how much do I owe him for coming out and giving me all his advice, he told me I owed nothing. I felt much better after meeting with Huy, and I promptly texted Hamid back that eveyrthing went well. I was able to purchase new weather strip material at Home depot for under $20 and was able to change out the weather strip on my own. I did run into a slight bump after installing the new material, where my garage door sensors kept blinking and would not close the garage door normally. I texted Hamid asking him for advice, which he again promptly provided, at no cost. He suggsted that the position of my garage door sensors may have gotten misaligned. I took a look, and he was right! Problem solved. THank you A Plus Garage Door! Thank you Hamid and Huy! If I ever need wooden garage doors I will definitely go to you first. read more

I had a Liftmaster that was installed around 2005 with a fried circuit board (that means it is dead, sadly). Ed came out on time and explained all my options. He had the new system in place in one hour - lightening fast. He took all the trash and the old system and left my garage in perfect condition. My system came with a outside keypad and 2 controls. He also programmed my three existing controls. And this new system (Chamberlain, they bought LiftMaster) is blue tooth enabled so I'll be able to remotely open and close the garage door. Very happy with the service. Had a problem with the Liftmaster opening and closing endlessly. Ed quickly assessed/fixed the issue with the tracking alignment and to prevent sensor problems (which was installed in the wrong location by a different company originally IMO ), he reinstalled the sensors to a stable area against the wall.
