Feb 14 I hired Brandon Shore to remove a dead squirrel and seal up all points of entry. He seemed trust worthy, had good reviews and came recommended by a friend. I paid him 50%, $550, to begin the job. He quickly assessed the situation and determined that the squirrel was in a place that it could not be removed. He took down the gutter and installed an out only trap over the hole on my facia board. He was at my house perhaps 30 min. He scheduled a time to come back to repair the facia board, seal up the holes around the exterior and install odor eating bags to absorb the smell as he didn't have any on his truck. He came back to drop off the bags, but told me he didn't have time to do the work. First it was rain which was legitimate as it rained most of Feb and March, then it was concerns over COVID which I also consider very legitimate even though all of the work to be done is outside the house. It has now been nearly 6 months. He has scheduled numerous appointments, but he never shows up. I have called and text. He usually text back and says something about the "office" trying to reach me, but my voice mail is full; however I don't show any missed calls from unknown numbers nor have I received an email. The "office" number listed online and on his business card is the number in which he and I correspond. I have told him he is welcome to come anytime since the work is entirely outside, but here I am August 7... my gutter is still down, I have an out only squirrel trap tacked to the front of my house by my front door and none of the work promised has been done. He seemed like such a nice guy, and he did a great job for my friends, but unfortunately this has not been my experience. $550 is a great deal of money for me as I am a single mother with 2 kids, one in college. My house is a 100 year old triplex that I have owned for 27 years. Over the years I have had countless contractors for repairs... more than I could possibly count, but I have never had anything like this happen. Honestly, I have never written a negative review for anything or anyone ever.... I have never had a reason. I suppose I have been very fortunate until now. read more
