A tech came out on May 6th because the door was not open and the tech opened and closed the door…read moremanually while I was there and didn't say anything and then looked at the motor and said it need to be replaced. He told me what to get. So I got what he told me. On May 13, he came and worked on replacing it. He still did not say anything 2 hours later until I asked if he was done. Then he said yes but the door hit the up door frame. I told him that it didn't hit the door frame before. Not sure why he got upset and was trying to say that I was accusing him and called his boss. Then said the Spring is wrong and the door was installed wrong by previous technician. He pointed to other small garage door that said it was wrong also and stormed out. This door had been working well for years since I bought house in 2010 until the motor stopped working. If it was always like that, the door would be all managed. Only after he did the replacement the door hitting the frame. Replacing the motor might require some adjustment on the door or track to make the door works well but instead he was trying to argue with me and trying to blame this and that. The next day the other technician came and spend a 15,minutes to adjust and replaced one of the hinges and it works and that was done for free. This could have been better if the first tech just said it was not my fault but I'll try to adjust it for you and if there was something else that needs to replace you pay for it. I would be happy with and pay more for him if there is anything that needs to be done as I need the door to work. I feel this is totally unnecessary and uncalled for. I appreciate the company to send another tech out to do adjustments for me. So this review is not reflected on the company but the that one technician. If his was handled properly I would be happy to give them a 5 star but for that I gave them 4

Every other company came in hundreds of dollars cheaper for the exact same job, with real explanations and written estimates that actually broke down what I'd be paying for. What really bothered me was the way the whole interaction felt. No details, no transparency, and no willingness to walk me through the pricing. As a woman handling a home repair alone, the approach came across as rushed, dismissive, and like he assumed I wouldn't question the number he eventually texted over. I wouldn't recommend Garage Guy based on this experience. There are other local companies who offer clear communication, fair pricing, and professional treatment -- this wasn't one of them. Hi Andrew, Thank you for responding to my Yelp review. I want to clarify a few points to make sure the situation is accurately represented. First, I did not request a carriage-house door. My existing garage door is a standard raised-panel steel door with a row of rectangular windows, and that is the style I asked about replacing. At no point did I mention or request a decorative or carriage-house style. Second, your quote of $2,000 for a non-insulated door was significantly higher than the estimates I received from other reputable companies for the exact same type of replacement. Their quotes ranged between $1,250-$1,550, which is why your price was concerning. Third, regarding the visit: I assumed the technician may have measured the door from the outside before knocking, but if he did, it was extremely fast. It took me less than five minutes to let my dogs outside before I opened the door for him, so the entire assessment from arrival to departure was very brief. No measurements were taken in my presence, no options were discussed, and no information about door types or warranties was provided. He told me he would send something over in 20-30 minutes, and the only thing I received was a short text message hours later with the $2,000 price. Also, there was a little bit of hiccups. The top of the caps on the post were not screwed in there was denting in certain places scratching on certain areas to say the least I love my Gate. He made all the provisions too, make it right by installing a little side Fence at no extra charge. When the job was finished, I was happy with the progress and the aesthetics of it and we talked about finishing my project this year with the same design, he did the Gate. He said he would be interested to just notify him the conversation went smoothly and amicably. I didn't feel that there was any hard feelings being that I've done nothing wrong so i was looking forward to start this new project. I messaged him through the Yelp app. He said that he was in the area and normally does not do estimates on Sunday, but that he would come by at 5pm . I don't think he was aware that it was me until I gave him the address. He never called nor did he show up ! not sure how I emotionally feel about that but professionally he could have notified me and said he would not come or he was not interested in my project, I believe I was owed that much respect, but I do believe everything is for a reason because to work with somebody on such a big project you really would need to be in one accord so that is why I put this under "maybe"

He was late almost everyday, different excuses every time, and it seems like he had no idea what he was doing.He was on the phone calling and asking for help, did a shoddy job patching the backsplash inner wall. He would come in work an hour and have an excuse on why he cant finish that day. Very frustrating when you cant use your kitchen! Eventually, he had to have someone come in who knows what to do on the 3rd day. He finished the grout and left for us the clean up. He was very nice as a person but professionally, I cannot recommend.

When I first called Luis he did not have anyone available to come out for a few days for an estimate. My son had accidentally backed the van out when the garage door was 3/4 open, didnt notice it and the racks on top caught the door and dragged it, bending rails and all! Thankgoodness the opener was ok! I mentioned to Luis I saw all these good reviews so I called him first, and he said since I found him on yelp, he would come out himself the next morning! He called 30 minutes before like he said he would, arrived right on time, and was very informative, explained all that was needed, and why. I agreed to very good price for the door and he was here the next day, again called before, arrived on time and moved all my junk out of the way and was completed in bout 2 hrs. He cleaned up and the door is wonderful! In fact im going to paint my small one to match the new one! So I just can't say enough good things about Luis, but as others have mentioned on this page, I feel him being the small business owner helps alot, more personal and honest. He will not be small very much longer! I very much recommend him and his company for all your garage door needs! I have to say my garage door has never been so smooth and quiet! He even adjusted my settings on my openers, they were way off he said! So Thank you Luis, your the best! I had a door opener that died after 17 yrs of use. lol i needed a new one in a hurry. i thought i'd have to wait for at least a few days to get anyone here, but Luis said he could be here the same day, and in just a few hours as he was finishing up an another one, and would come right over. i chose him because i like to do business with small mom and pop businesses. my experience is that you get much better service because its there business that they take pride in. Luis's personality is great! Super nice guy. he knows exactly what he is doing, and is VERY efficient! it only took him 1 hour to dismantle my old one and install the new one. i'm sure he could have done it quicker, but i was talking to him most of the time. lol he also didn't like the support brackets i had on my old one, so he put up much better solid one's for free! (not sure if he always does that, or if he was just in a good mood. lol). anyway, i HIGHLY recommend him! i did not know him before this, nor did anyone recommend him to me, i simply did a Google search and got lucky, so i am not a friend or relative of his trying to make him look good on YELP, but simply put, he is very very good at what he does. he takes the time to explain everything to you and addresses any questions you have. he also gives you a guarantee on his work. you can't go wrong hiring this guy. read more

If I could give 10 starts I would. Luis was referred to me by my brother in law. This could possibly be the best service I have gotten in years. Luis was great from the phone to in person. This is how service is supposed to be. My garage door starting giving me a bit of trouble so I gave him a call. I got an appointment that fit my schedule. 3:30 pm on a Wednesday. ( no one is ever that willing to work with a crazy schedule like mine.) Luis showed up on time and was very friendly. He took a look at my 10+ year old open and said I think we can just do an adjustment. He then spent time answering all of my questions about new openers and different options we decided to buy a replacement opener. Now I have to say I cant remember the last time that I wasn't upsold something. Luis was great didn't push us and in fact was so honest that he said an adjustment could get us more time before we had to replace it. We still wanted to just replace it and prevent the headache of dealing with it later. I figured he would need to order it and come back another day, nope he had the part and the time to take care of it right here and now. I wanted to add to the outstanding reviews of A Professional Garage Door Service by sharing my experience. I saw the amazing feedback the company received on this site and made this my first place to call. Luis picked up my call and was incredibly courteous. I explained my situation and we agreed to a next-day appointment (which was in a 4-6 pm window, which fit my schedule perfectly). Luis gave me a courtesy call 30 minutes before he arrived to let me know that he was on his way. When he did arrive, I refreshed him on our earlier conversation. He made some adjustments to my door sensors and the actual opener itself, all the while explaining what he was doing and why. When I detailed my issue with the range of my remote openers, he diagnosed the problem and gave me a couple of options on how to resolve the issue. Per my request, he only replaced the equipment that was needing replacement. He tested everything thoroughly with me at his side. He gave me an itemized receipt and was able to process my credit card payment on the spot. Luis is an excellent example of a truly ethical contractor. This business is truly deserving of its unblemished 5 star rating!! Finding a truly honest, reliable and totally professional company is totally refreshing these days! This company and especially the technician, Luis, (not sure if he is the sole owner or not) lives up to this hype and all the accolades given by the numerous other reviewers. I was searching for a company to replace two garage door openers. On my first phone call, Luis was on the road, but took the time to answer all my questions about which opener and their features would be best for my situation, about which brands he recommended, and why, etc. After 10 plus minutes of talking with him, I knew that I would be doing business with him. He gave me a couple of model numbers to research and after doing my homework, I called him back and ordered the openers and set the appointment without him coming out to the house. The install went smoothly and quickly and he programmed the openers without a problem. I called and Asked for service on my garage door which came down on my car. I talked with Luis and setup a time for him to come out the same day. My garage door was messed up and wouldn't close. Luis came early which was awesome. He did a temp fix to secure my garage door, gave me a quote and came out the very next morning to install a new garage door and opener (everything new). They are quick and efficient. Luis is honest and his crew are all very nice. They are hard working. The price is reasonable and we are happy as can be. I highly recommend this company and their crew. They are very considerate, organized and they cleanup everything. Also they go over all the equipment At the end. We saw Luis' truck/advertisement and gave him a call. He said he'd meet us on Monday at 0800. He was there exactly on time (refreshing after dealing with other contractors). He showed us several options using our home photo as the backdrop. Very nice to see what the door is going to look like! He originally quoted us about $350.00 for a new motor unit. When he saw ours, he said even though it was old, it was in very good condition and didn't need replacing! (Another refreshing example of an honest contractor). Luis said, "The soonest I can come is on Wednesday." "This Wednesday?" "Yes." 2 days is extremely fast in my book. Wednesday at 0700 he was removing screws. At 0930 we were looking at our new garage door with new railing, quiet wheels, new sensors and new remotes. Also, our old door was in his truck to be hauled off. I am stunned how fast, honest and competent Luis was on this job. I cannot recommend him any higher. His price was very fair. I just wish I had done this years sooner. My cables needed to be fixed. Plus my garage door just needed a good maintenance. Luis was the employee that came and handled the job. Great guy with tons of advice for me. Definitely was not price gouging by telling me I needed more work done than I actually did need.. In fact he gave me lots of tips on what to keep an eye on, possible future issues and options.. Basic points where normal ware happens, and just things that I really wasn't aware of.. The price was a little higher than average. But from my experiences, cheaper is not always better.. Especially services with things I don't know much about.. From what I payed for today, I'm confident I'm saving in the long run by preventing ware and damage and getting ahead of anything I needed to. Today Luis impressed me and taught me a couple things. I called Luis about my garage door sagging at the joints and not closing properly. Talking to him over the phone he knew the exact issue and door brand and explained to men why the door was sagging. He gave me solutions and and a few quotes but did not try to up sell me into buying a new garage door. Instead of costlier solutions he recommended a inexpensive fix that was in my budget. He arrived at my house the next day at the time he said he would and was very professional and friendly. He looked at the garage for and showed me the problem with the door and what he planned on doing to fix it. He finished his in about 45 minutes even adjusting the springs on the opener and lubricating the chains for no charge. He explained what other possible issues the door and opener may have in the future but did not try to up sell me into more service. The senors for my garage door went out so I called this company to schedule an appointment. When I told the person on the phone what my issue was, they told me Home Depot sold the sensors just in case I wanted to do it myself. Right then and there I knew this company was legit. I thanked him for letting me know, but told him I'd feel better if a professional replaced them. Luis showed up early on in the 2 hour window and once he finished the repairs he explained what he did and showed me the garage door was now functioning properly. He even made sure the built in garage opener in my vehicle open and closed the door properly. From start to finish, this companies customer service was amazing. Punctual, professional and knowledgeable. What more can you ask for? I called Luis around 9pm. He returned my call within 10 minutes (something other companies were unable to do). I explained to him that one of my springs snapped and the door wouldn't open and I needed the cars for work the next day. He assured me that I could open the door with a little manual assistance. I'm not sure another company would've given me that information but rather charge me an exorbitant "emergency" fee. Luis came out the next day to fix the garage door. Luis did a wonderful job on my garage door! I called 3 repair companies and they are not able to accommodate my request to come down as early as possible. When I talked to Luis, he worked out his schedule and was able to come in a lot earlier than I had hoped for. The fee was very reasonable ($180) for two springs. He even gave advise on how to maintain the springs to make them last longer. He also offered to replace the bulb on the garage door opener for free (with free bulb)! I required immediate help with my garage door and the owner sent Mark from my town. He arrived within an hour and repaired the problem in no time @ a most reasonable cost. Locally, I could not even reach any service. I was more than pleased but did not leave a review. Now, 6 weeks later I returned home and had a problem. Called the owner and Mark was here within an hour. Not a problem related to their repair but fixed all without a charge and I must say, in this day and age, EXTRAORDINARY service. Any doubts in the Central CA Valley, call this company - the owner and staff will take care of you. No rip off here. read more

I didn't have the opportunity to meet Luis, but my mother-in-law sang his praises. One of the springs had broken on my garage door and he came out the next day. In addition to the spring, the actual opener has been so loud and clanky that I've been expecting it to break any time. Not only did he replace both springs, but he performed maintenance on the opener, all for less than I had feared I would have to pay for just the springs. And now I have a garage door that sounds like new and works better than it has for the last 10 years that we've owned this house! His 5 star rating on YELP is more than deserved! read more

On Friday October 25, 2024 @ or around 5:00 pm, my garage went off track and I was helpless to fix it. I remember that I had used A Professional to repair it a couple of years ago. So, I called them up to see if they could come out and repair it, but because it was after hours, they were unable too. They did however, set me with an appointment for the next day on Saturday October 26, 2024, at 9:00 am. The next day, the two-employee arrived on time and went to work, within an hour, they had my garage door back online and operational. When it comes to garage, these guys know their business. I absolutely recommend A Professional Garage Door Service. At 9 a.m. my garage door broke. It was off track and would not move up or down. I called and Luis answered the phone. I immediately knew this was the man! At 10:15 he arrived at my house, and by 11:15 my door was fixed! Luis is a knowledgeable, professional, and above all, an honest business man. He explained what he needed to do and gave a fair price. What a rarity these days. He was a pleasure to do business with, and I will definitely recommend him to friends and neighbors and I will call him again with any future garage door needs. read more
