Had a spring break and needed a replacement. Having had an unfavorable interaction with another company who we had used before in a previous house, I tried Barton to see if they could help. Everything about them was professional, timely, and well done. They did an excellent job of keeping in touch and the tech who came out was able to do an amazing job. He actually suggested changing my setup, which didn't add much to the cost, so it didn't seem like a money grab. Added information about the garage door repair. This is a single-car wooden roll-up door. The top piece or header that was damaged and ripped off is a standard 2x4. It is secured to the intact door by four pegs (which are intact) coming up fom the door and mating with holes drilled in the bottom of the 2x4. It is finished of with 1/4 round strips where it meets the door. NOTE: I never was told there would be a charge for what was supposed to be an estimate only. I called Barton Overhead Doors for a repair on a garage door. They were quick to send someone out by the name of R & S Erection to assess the job and do the repair. The two young men that showed up were phenomenal! They were professional, polite, quick and diagnosed the problem and repaired the door with little effort. It was like they knew what they were doing and had been doing it for years. Ken and Miguel worked very well together and were very well mannered. That goes a long way in my book. They are very unprofessional I been calling for several months to have something repaired that there employee broke a till this day they have not came to repair the item. they have gave me an appointment about 4 times already an they never show up. I've had cancel other personal appointments just to stay home so I can be there when they come a they do not come.They don't even call to confirm with you that they won't show up. A Barton tech replaced my garage door. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and well trained. When he was done with the installation, he left my garage clean with the only noticeable difference being the door opener assembly and sensors. Additionally, prior to calling Barton I had gotten a quote from a different service. That quote was 3 times that of Barton. As a woman, I get too many "traditionally male techs" who take advantage by replacing unnecessary parts. The unethical businesses then charge shameful amounts for their shenanigans. I must tell consumers of such a deal that Barton Overhead Door is offering. For a mere $125.00, you can be the not so proud owner of this can of Barton Overhead Door WD-40. That's what I paid when a service tech, John, came out to check a squeak in my garage door. I stood in the garage and watched as he sprayed the hinges with WD40. I asked, "is there something to adjust" in the door? He said no, this will take care of it. I was taken aback and said, "you're not going to charge me $125. to spray WD40? I was in disbelief. He said Yep, I don't make the rules. Still in disbelief, I called the office and a tart office female, said yes that's the charge, but she would check into it. I got the bill for the $125. You can see the receipt says "lube and adjust", as stated THERE WAS NO ADJUSTMENT DONE, I WATCHED HIM. In fact he had no tools!!! He drove less than 1/2 mile to my house!! I explained I was a senior citizen on a fixed income and this charge was past ridicules. I don't want anything for free, but $125 for about 6 squirts of WD40??. THAT is called a SCAM. While I had put my trust in Barton Overhead Door when I purchased the door in 2013 for $1630.00, this dubious company policy causes complete mistrust of this company.
