Due to us moving around so much, I never have enough time in one place to find "my stylist" to lean on for color or cuts. This means when I do go in, each stylist fans though my hair and says "uh, so what am I looking at???" Paired with the fact that sometimes I do my own highlights when I'm feeling extra optimistic in my limited abilities, my hair can be a bit of a challenge. I took a risk and bought a groupon for this place for a cut and highlights, and hoped for the best. Fortunately, this time it paid off! I got there early and sat in the parking lot and hoped they wouldn't paint my hair into stripes or color it green, and then I went in. The interior isn't much to look at, but once you get seated, you know they have experience. My appointment was with the daughter of the owner/manager, and she was fast, efficient, and definitely listened to my hair concerns. I told her I wanted something on the more natural looking side, with very small highlights and something close to my natural color. She did exactly what I asked! I went home and felt like a million bucks. The price was great though the Groupon special, she was super fast, and the color was perfect. The only downside is the place is tucked way out in the middle of nowhere, and it is a pain to get to from north aquidneck island. I have been searching for a place to provide hair services for my destination wedding in RI. I came across this salon due to it's proximity to my venue and other reviews. I was very disappointed. I should have been weary when I called and asked if there was any stylist that was better with bridal hair. The owner, Alison, said all hairstyles were generic and not to worry. So I scheduled a hair trial on a Saturday. No one was there to check in or greet you (possibly short staffed on the weekend) which is fine. However, Alison (the owner) was 45 mins late and not even a word to tell me what was going on. I have had a failed hair trial prior and told her my concerns. I showed her a picture of my hairstyle and asked if it could be done. She told me it would not be a problem. I found it unprofessional that she was carrying on with her co-workers and random people that stopped by rather than paying attention. Anyways, in less than an hour she finished and my hair and it looked nothing like the picture. She kept saying that on the day it would be much better. She really seemed uninterested in trying to make it look like the picture. Ugg, 55 bucks down the drain for a trial. 1 star for professionalism and fulfillment of service. I gave it 2 stars because I did not receive any other services there and am giving them the benefit of the doubt. There were regulars there that seemed to like the salon. Out of state brides beware. If you like having hair and if you'd like to keep your eyebrows in tact, this is not the salon for you. Consider this a fair warning. More importantly, if you are a kind and generous person, do not act anything like yourself in front of the salon's owner, Allison...She's a sheep in wolf's clothing and she will take advantage of you by overcharging you, and then yelling at you when you question all the extra charges for services you never received...I'm pretty sure a girl remembers whether or not she was given a $40 deep conditioning treatment! "But, it's on the slip," Allison replied after I explained the deep conditioning had never been given. Since the stylist had already booked it out of there, it was my word against Allison and her doctored slip...so much for the customer always being right. My masseuse (whose name I cannot recall) was lovely. She did gentle cupping on my sciatic nerve to relieve pressure. The owner, on the other hand, is not friendly at all, even when I attempted to kill her with kindness. She was very rude to me on the phone when I missed an appointment, despite my apologies for the inconvenience, to the point that I was afraid to see her in person. I have tried to call to schedule follow-up massages twice now, and no one answers the phone or calls back. :( read more

I saw a groupon deal for this establishment through a Facebook post. I tried to call, to attempt to reserve two seats for my mother and I as walk-ins, but no one picked up my call or called back. (my mistake for not having an appointment the day before Mother's Day) I still bought the groupon deal since it was a "good" deal. I called a few more times and no luck! I ended up testing my luck and going there anyways. When I arrived it was a small house, setup like a cheap boutique inside. I was greeted by a receptionist that was on her cell phone. I inquired about the groupon tickets and the sign outside that said "walk-in available." She responded that they were full for the day. I then inquired about the phone calls that I made and the vmail I left. The Receptionist response was that the phone didn't ring. I tested her statement, placed a call as she went away and I heard the phone ring. When I spoke to my mom in Spanish, we were given funny looks. Overall, They closed really early at 3pm. I bought a Groupon for this salon and drove 40 minutes to use it. It was with out a doubt the worst mani pedi experience I have ever had. The technician was unsure, her skills were poor and it took nearly 90 minutes for a regular mani pedi with clear nail polish no less. I spoke with the owner and asked if the service was poor because I had used a Groupon, but she said it was because the girl was new. Unacceptable. One star is too many. It's really too bad that I bought a Groupon for this place. I can't be refunded for my horrible paint job and butchered nails, and I don't have the heart to confront them personally about how disappointed I am. First of all, this place is dirty, there was nail dust literally everywhere, and they used dusty dingy towels. One person used a towel that had nail dust on it to clean the nail station, dusted it off and put it back. The tools were old some rusted, and the nail brushes had a brown tinge. Luckily the girl searched around for different tools to use, I refused the nail brushes. She didn't put lotion on my hands and I couldn't keep up with the order she was going in. I had hangnails galore when I left that place. Didn't even notice because of all the talking and listening. My pedicure chair was broken so I had to sit forward uncomfortably to reach the foot stand. I felt my feet and they weren't softened after the girl gently scrubbed them, and I felt weird asking her to scrub them more. I didn't ask for her to get a new towel because I felt that would be rude... especially since the people that work there were acting stressed out and just seemingly trying to save a dollar. Most of the gel polishes were old and not sticking, we had to try several different polishes to find out which ones were old and which ones were new. Two of the nail dryers were broken - I had to keep moving over to the next nail station until we found one that worked. Since money is not an issue for me I kind of wanted to see it through till the end, but spending $40 on my pedicure and gel manicure that look painted on by a 5 year old was torturous, and took up to two hours to finish. I wish I had just left, but I wanted to get my moneys worth at least. I got them fixed later on that day and figured I would just write a review. Don't waste your time and money. I do not understand all of these poor reviews. I was hesitant to purchase a groupon for a mani/pedi here after reading what was on here but I am glad that I went regardless. Bought 2 groupons for my mom and I to get a mani/pedi, called to schedule the appt and was told it was no problem they had 2 pedicure seats so they could serve us at the same time. When we arrived they were behind which immediately turned me off but the fact that I am giving a 5 star review they clearly changed my opinion. The 2 nail techs were so friendly and welcoming, we laughed and chatted the whole time we were there. They made sure that the water was hot enough for us and gave a great foot massage. We then went over to the manicure station which again we sat together and they were great. Now people complain about the decor but honestly, I am there for good service and a great job on my nails, outdated decor is not going to phase me. I purchased a Groupon shellac mani & pedi. Even with the Groupon savings - I was disappointed. I question if the girl who did my mani/pedi went to cosmetology school. The pedi was okay. The shellac manicure was a waste of time. It looks like I did it myself. For both the mani and pedi there was just not any attention to detail - cuticles were not taken care of, I had polish on my finger and one nail was not filed correctly. I will say the staff, including the owner are very sweet, and I feel bad giving the review. But you should know before you go. They do have parking, and I disagree with the other reviewer, it is a decent size place, the staff may just need some training - at least the girl that did my nails... read more

I purchased a Groupon for a pedicure and a shellac manicure. My nail technician was the owner of the salon and she was very pleasant and personable. Initially walking in the salon it looks nice. They have a nice sitting area in the front. When you go in the back, however it is very dated and NOT clean. I didn't enjoy my pedicure. It was very quick....no emphasis put on the heels for the dry skin. I just felt like she wanted to get it over with. I also had a shellac manicure which came off in 5 days. I clean houses so my hands are in water a lot, however I have had shellac manicures before that have stayed on longer than 2 weeks. I understand everyone has an off day so I can even look past the bad mani/pedi but the cleanliness (or lack there of) I can't look past. read more

To begin with my wife and I have had many massages. I bought a Groupon massage for my wife. There is a reason why they need the Groupon. This is what she said: Strangest massage ever! This place is a bit of a distance from my home, but my sister had given me a Groupon gift certificate to it, so i though, it's a pedicure and shellac manicure, what do i have to lose, right?! WRONG! I arrived promptly before my appointment only to have to wait ten minutes after my appointment for the girl who was doing my appointment. She gets there and takes her sweet time to get to me. After picking a color, she started the appointment with the pedicure. Throughout the entire time, she seemed inattentive to what she was doing and was chit-chatting with the other technician/co-worker who was also doing a pedicure and chatting as well with her client. This is fine, really... i understand you have to make the day go by, but really... she was essentially missing steps in the pedicure procedure due to her inattentiveness. Example: buffing one foot but not the other. She definitely took her sweet time too. I had work after my appointment only to arrive late because of her meandering. The pedicure was not all that great... i've certainly had better, and since i'm so diligent about keeping my feet clean, she had little work to do on my feet, and i can't say she did more than my own local salon filed with Asian workers who do a better job than these people ANY day. This pedicure certainly didn't warrant the $35 price... especially it's chairs which had erect backs, making it very hard to "sit" back, relax and enjoy your pampering. Maybe because there WASN'T any?! As for my shellac manicure... Well, i've never had one positive appointment with this special manicure technique and this was no different. I chose a black color that barely covered my nails (sides were at least a centimeter or more visible. I had her round my nails, which came out crooked and uneven. The shellac color itself was uneven and streaky at some parts on my nails. It was just a mess. I cam home and removed it all because i could not bare to look at it. On the whole, this is some upscale posh shin-dig that is all show and very little substance. It's in Coventry, so this makes sense and is fitting... as is their overblown prices. The people there seemed nice enough, though as the bridal reviewer who left a comment here mentioned, there wasn't anyone there to greet me and i was at least seated on the facilities' couch for five minutes before anyone actually acknowledged my presence. On the whole, i'm sorry i wasted my gas and my morning i had off from work. Sure, this was a coupon, and maybe that's why the service was so poor, but it wasn't free. My sister did pay $35 dollars for it. I am not one to leave a negative comment for business, since thankfully for me, my experiences thus far have been positive... but this place i HAD to comment on and prevent others from wasting their hard earned money. This place is not worth it... Perhaps that's why they have that Groupon promotion after all?! They definitely NEED to get people in there, because otherwise they'd have no business. I asked for a chin length haircut, same length all around, and a tiny amount of layers. Instead I got a nightmare. The cut was cheek length in the front and mullet in the back, with a TON of layers and jagged ends everywhere. Total fail on all three requests. I have never been so disappointed with a service in my life. They make you fill out a form about your hair that the stylist doesn't bother reading (I filled this out on 3 separate visits... WHY?). I'd been here before and other stylists managed to cut an inch or two off the ends with no problem. Not sure why Jaimie decided to ignore what I wanted. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and went to Salon Galleria a few days ago for my facial. I enjoy trying different places and was hoping for a relaxing experience. The rug in the "facial room" was full of stains, there was no welcoming "scent" and the young lady Brittany barely said two words to me and never smiled. The entire facial lasted about 45 minutes, nothing special. When she told me I was all done, I asked Brittany if she was going to check my pores and extract any potential blackheads. She responded that she never does that and was not taught how to do it. In my many years of having facials on a regular basis, this was a first. I highly doubt that this young lady has the proper schooling to perform facials and I would NEVER go there again and strongly discourage anyone from wasting their time. I found out about Salon Galleria and Spa via their groupon deal--a cut, wash&blowdry, and a once process color for $29. To me, this price seemed too good to be true and I learned the hard way that it was. The salon is very small, a quaint building from the outside and very old/in need of a make over on the inside. No one greeted me when I walked in and had to wait 5 minutes for a customer to tell me someone would be right with me. That set the tone for how I thought my experience would be. I met my stylist who was a nice young girl that I could sort of hold conversation with. We discussed what I wanted her to do in order to get my hair from Ombre to all one color. Prior to actually buying the groupon, I called the salon to see what it would actually take to get rid of my ombre. The stylist said depending on my hair I would either have to do a tint back or a corrective color. I don't believe my stylist did either of these because she dyed my entire head all at once. I waited under a dryer which felt like forever and washed out my hair at the sink. I noticed the stylist didn't use a color stay shampoo and conditioner which I thought was rather odd but I let it slide. She then proceeded to blow dry my hair without asking me what side I like to part it on or anything, she just went at it with a huge square brush! Her blowdrying skills were pretty subpar and my hair was flipping out all over the place. I couldn't even tell how the color looked because the lighting in the salon is so dark and makes everyone's hair seem red. Anyways, I paid and tipped my stylist, got into my car, looked in my mirror and noticed that my hair was basically still ombre with all spots of different color everywhere. I was literally so upset that a stylist would go through the process of dying my hair and washing it out and blowdrying it, clearly seeing the color is uneven, and send me on my way without a care. I walked back into the salon, with no one to be found of course, and finally an older woman stylist (30-40?) asked me what was wrong. When I told her she seemed very unamused and brought my stylist from out back. When I explained to the stylist why I was unhappy she said to me "yeah that's what happens when you dye over blonde hair" Are you serious? Really? An uneven brassy copper brown color happens when you dye over hair that wasn't even blonde in the first place!!!! Anyways I kept my composure the whole time even though I was furious and she just started putting something on my head without even telling me what she was doing or why she was doing it. Turns out she turned my hair about 3 shades too dark and the color is still uneven. I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" really is true. I would never recommend this salon to anyone, ever. As a hair stylist you are offering the client your services and are supposed to carry out those services to the best of your ability. I have never had such poor service in all my life and I really am not that bad of a critic. Very disappointed with this salon!! I called and scheduled an appointment before a dance for a Tuesday night (this was several months ago but I feel it is necessary to give this place a review). I had bought a Groupon for a mani/pedi and decided it was worth the 45 minute drive to the appointment. When I got there, they told me that they didn't have an appointment scheduled and that they were booked for the night so they couldn't accommodate me. I explained my situation and that I had a dance and needed an appointment and they didn't even seem to care. VERY poor customer service. I was furious and unbelievably frustrated after driving 45 minutes to be told they had no appointment for me after I am positive that the girl had told me it was all set for that date/time (I write down EVERYTHING and I am very organized). I went to this salon because I had purchased a Groupon for an hour massage. It was a great deal that I was unable to resist. The outside of the shop is in very desperate need of repair. Inside was nor bad. My masseuse was a few minutes late but so was I as I had a bit of trouble finding the place. The room was a bit cold especially when you are lying on an unheated massage bed. The room was ok but the decor felt like it was thrown together. The carpet could be changed and or vacuumed as there was a smell. However I was very delighted in the masseuse as she did give me a very relaxing massage. read more

I'm totally mystified at the negative reviews for this salon! I found the atmosphere very restful, the decor attractive and appropriate, and the owner (who did my mani-pedi) was a delight to talk to the entire time. Very clean and comfortable spa pedicure are. I had a Groupon for a mani-pedi, and both were done very professionally and accommodating my specific requests without question. It was a prom night preparation day, and as such it was most enjoyable to watch the talented young hairstylists creating beautiful updos for several girls. I was served coffee, offered my choice of reading material, and (most important ) given a very high quality and vast selection of nail colors from which to choose. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and would not hesitate to recommend this location. The only reason I almost gave four stars rather than five, is that I found their manicure and pedicure standard pricing rather much higher than I am used to finding in Warwick, where I usually have gone in the past. The attention and quality of service makes higher prices understandable, and worth that value, but it will sadly limit the frequency with which I am likely to be able to patronize this great salon. read more

I purchased the mani&pedi groupon. I left extremely upset that I spent money there. The salon was a warm place and all the staff were upbeat and nice. With the prices being outrageous I expected to get the best. The pedicure was okay but nail polish is left on my toes and my nails are uneven. The gel manicure is terrible. It look like the polish was just slapped on the nail. The sides of my nails are bare with no polish and it is already pealing off. No time was spent caring for my nails, it seemed that the woman was eager to end her day. I would not recommend this place to anyone and can't believe I spent my time there. read more

Such a poor experience. I purchased groupons for mani/pedi, facial, and massage. I went for facial. Hours are odd and it was very hard to get a hold of anyone. The salon in general was dusty and cluttered. The room for facials and massage was not nice. I instantly noticed rug on floor was gross as did other patrons. The bed was squeaky and felt like it was going to break. The facial itself was so basic, not worth full price. No extraction, light massage, minimal product use and no steam. The pedicure was okay, again basic. No clipping nails and she hardly touched the heels. The manicure was the worst! I'm almost positive the lady doing my nails was new and just learning how to do gel. I picked out a sparkly color and the owner had to show her how to do it. She left huge globs all over sides and the coat was uneven and so thick. I pointed it out a couple times so she could clean edges. She also did cut cuticles at all. I went home and couldnt believe how bad my nails looked. One finger was piled on so thick and it never cured all the way it came right off.
