When I rehired them in June 2024, they charged me nearly $3,000 to trim the trees in my front yard and on the side of the fence with my neighbor's permission. The sap and pine cones from the trees have been causing damage to many cars. I told the owner, Mark, the specific areas that needed to be addressed, and he assured me that he could use a truck with a lift or a bucket to get the job done. Upon returning from my vacation, I discovered that no work had been completed on the side area, and the mess left in my backyard was not addressed either. Despite contacting Mark with pictures and calls to express my dissatisfaction, no refunds were offered for the first job, and the wood from the second job remains uncleared. Given this experience, I would not recommend this company, especially since the owner did not acknowledge the issues. After two weeks, he sent some guys out to move the wood in one area, and they must have used chainsaws and more workforce to move it. That job was another few thousands. I know inflation has gone up, but I didn't think Mark would let his quality of work go south.

They provided a quoted price right at the first meeting which was lower than other quotes I got, they arrived with a large crew of friendly people to do the work, they asked my thoughts and opinions before beginning and as well as when they were removing branch by branch of a tree that was important to me. After they took down a big Douglas fir my daughter was sad about that so one person cut the top off and gave it to us to use as a Christmas tree, which cheered her up. They were very careful with the stump grinder to not touch my fence. I was very pleased and would definitely use them again.

That did not make the cut for winning our bid. My father had his own tree company for years, Z Trees, I went with, helping, so I am a bit particular what I want plus one tree was on our neighbor's property and leaning over our roof. I do with that rate them very high. They are an arborists unlike three other companies bids. If you have big trees please do give them a chance to bid your job.

I've found Ian Scott, who is the owner and principal point of contact, to be courteous, prompt and professional. Jobs with him always start with a site visit, where he looks over the work that needs to be done, makes suggestions, offers advice, and ultimately provides an estimate for the work that needs to be done. His estimates are always accurate (I've never had one go over), and his team is thorough in the work they do. They do all manner of tree work, including removal (including large trees), thinning, even sculpting and trimming. His team is also trained to scale large trees with climbing equipment, so they can thin and trim even in very tallest of trees. I will continue to use Urban Arborist into the future, and highly recommend this local business.

Westside Tree Care and Patrick specifically are fantastic. We reached out to him back in January about removing three incredibly large trees from our property. Not only was his quote the most reasonable out of the numerous companies we had come in but honestly he, was the most respectful to deal with. I had several individuals flat-out asked me was it okay for them to speak to me and give me quotes or would I rather have my husband there. Yeah, thanks but no thanks. Patrick is respectful, will answer any and all questions, and will walk you through every single step of what he's going to do. When we had to change direction because the city would not grant us permission to remove our trees, he was able to come in and prune them back to something that I can actually live with. Let me tell you, I hate these trees so it seemed really difficult that just your pruning alone anything was going to happen to make me any happier about still having them on my property. It is three days later, and I cannot believe the difference that printing back these trees has made. We actually get light into our backyard and sunroom now. The trees are still there but they are definitely not as bad as they were are we completely owe that to Westside tree care. Every single surface that Patrick and his associate worked on was completely cleaned up at the end of the day to the point where you would barely know they were here except for a few grains of sawdust on the grass. Our patio was spotless, and there was not a straight twig or leaf or branch anywhere on our property. Patrick and his associate ended up coming back two days later to take down a problem tree at my across the street neighbors. Clearly, anyone who sees him work recognizes that he is a consummate professional of the highest level. Showed up a few days after the estimate and took less then 2.5 hours to drop a huge complex maple that was endangering the house. His climbers safely rigged the tree and lowered the branches down to protect the house. Will definitely recommend them to friends and use them for the next time we need trees taken down. I'm not a customer but somehow Parkview Landscaping made their way on to my property and carved up…read moresome 15 year old plants and 30 year old cedar bushes. Most likely the bushes will never recover. In the event they do, it will take years of growth to cover the gaping holes. Not only was it a mistake to jump so far over the property line (15' - 25') it is clear from the results of their work they had no idea what they were doing. Viewed from the street it is a real eye sore. To add insult to injury, they didn't even cleanup the clippings.
