This salon took me back to my younger days when my mother was alive. She owned her own salon and made everyone feel welcome from time you walked in. It was personal. There weren't all these corporate mega salons back then. I had a new young stylist named Alexis who is just starting her career. I got a full color and it came out gorgeous. I went in for a haircut and it was really pleasant. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it felt like a day of pampering just going in for a haircut. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean. I appreciate that they don't try to push product on you, and when styling your hair they ask what products you use so that they can match their styling to your level of effort. I hate when you go to a salon and they put stuff that you would never put in your hair and you walk away with a style you'll never be able to replicate. They aren't snooty and don't try to convince you to be someone you're not, but instead try to highlight your natural strengths. read more

Very nice salon. My beautician Whitney took time to discuss how to cut my thick choppy hair. I have a hard time getting a good cut. She is very attentive and took me in right away. I'm new to the area and had not found a salon yet. After scouring yelp, I decided to try A Sense of Eden. I will definitely be back! Beautiful space, professional and inviting atmosphere, totally upscale experience. Since it is an historic house made into a salon there are many little private spaces and I very safe as far as covid protocols. I was absolutely satisfied with my stylist, she listened to my needs and was very focused the whole time she was cutting my hair. got my hair done for the first time asked for light brown and blonde highlights in the front, it was ginger but at the ends it was reddish brown and the blonde was white at the roots and yellow at the bottom. came in to get the darker pieces fixed and instead of telling me they couldn't lighten that part, made it dark brown, made the blonde pieces white at the roots, all my hair fell out underneath and is breaking off everywhere and i'm quickly losing it all. if i would've know it would've been bad like that i could've just kept it the color it was before. my hair is too damaged to even fix it now and i have a wedding which i'm the maid of honor in tomorrow, so i cant go. read more

I had an Eden Pedicure this morning from Brielle and it was heavenly! It was about an hour and she said I could stay as long as I wanted I'm sure within reason to relax after either in the quiet room or in the pedicure room. When I arrived I was offered water or a cranberry spritzer which was yummy and after my pedicure I was offered a light snack. All I can say is I can't wait to come back!! read more

Tried them for the first time a few weeks ago. Their hair services (cut, color,highlights, style) were amazing! I also got my nails done with their LCN gel nails/extensions. It was a horrible experience. The gel extensions all broke off after only 6 days (no, I wasn't being hard on my nails). the remaining gel that was actually on my nail bed was so thick that it will not come off. I went to two separate nail salons to try to get it removed and neither one would even attempt it. Both told me that if they tried to remove the gel they would most likely seriously damaged my nails, possibly permanently. So I have spent the past three weeks soaking and gently filing the gel in an attempt to remove it. Instill have large clumps of gel on my nails. I am now at the point where I'm afraid I'm getting fungal infections underneath the gel. Also, when I called them to cancel my three fill appointments and told them what was going on, all the person said was "oh ok. I'll cancel those for you". No concern, no offer to fix the issue. I would have had to either pay to have each nail fixed, or pay to have them removed. So avoid their nail services! read more

They offer a number of services so I thought it may be a place where I could become a regular with my daughter. I came out of there understanding very clearly that this place is not for people like me. After conversation, which I won't describe, she decided that she had to put me in my place by proudly touting the superiority of the genes of her race; some people apparently have good genes and others don't but - okay. She then "encouraged" me to not come back to the shop if "I didn't like it" - clear message. I am still in utter shock that this could happen in 2020. If you are person of color, this shop is not for you. If you are and you have had a good experience, they are masking what they really think about you. They are making a fool of you because they definitely like your money so take your self-respect and your dollars to another shop. read more

I had such a lovely time at Sense of Eden! I got a half hour massage, a spa pedicure, and a sugaring treatment, all of which were done very well and priced very reasonably. The highlight was the amazing spa pedicure by Annie. It lasted about an hour and a half and was very relaxing and through. Vince's massage was also very relaxing and skillful. He made the most of the half hour and was well worth the money. The sugaring by Alyssa was great, painful of course, but very detailed. I can't wait to go back soon for a hot stone and a haircut along with my pedicure! read more

I used to love this place but while the prices keep going up, the service has gone way downhill. I've been coming here for years and always had great experiences. Until recently. I took my friend for her birthday for what was supposed to be a massage, facial, pedi and wash/style. A couple days prior to our appointment I received a call saying the person who does facials had an emergency so we couldn't have those done- fine, things happen, I was understanding of that. The massage, lunch and pedi were fine. When it came time for my wash/style she literally washed my hair, blew it dry and then rushed me out without even brushing it. Considering they canceled part of the day, I would think they would have plenty of time to at least run a brush and flat iron through it. To me "style" means curl or straighten- not push me out the door with my hair full of knots and in my face. Despite the less than stellar experience, I was still considering going back to get my hair done, but I've now waited over a week for them to respond to my request for an appointment. Very disappointed in the decrease in quality from what used to be my favorite place. read more
