George was a good bar tender. He's bilingual but a little reserved. Only thing if I have to critique is he doesn't seem to be prepared for the specialty drinks on the menu we agreed to offer the guests. As the night goes by, he got a little more comfortable with taking off the menu requests. However, owner Lea was great with her part. She was very patient, friendly and professional. Lea the owner was responsive and a pleasure to work with. Her staff Maria and Chris was awesome to say the least!. Maria was confident and moved around my home as though she had been there before. She knew exactly what I needed and when I needed it! My guest thought she was a family member the way she jumped right in. Let me go ahead and give you an overview of my party this weekend: None of the bartenders knew how to make the "custom recipes" that this company's owner Lea recommended to me (and for which i made a drink menu)! They ended up (as they said) "winging it" * Matthew took a bottle of expensive whiskey and proceeded to drink it and get to wasted.. so wasted that he didn't know how to make basic cocktails for my guests. Note: we told the staff at the beginning what was off limits and what could be served *Matthew decided to just up and leave over 2 hours early while my house was filled with 100+ guests Texts and phone calls to the owner are unanswered. I am preparing a lawsuit against Lea. Once it is finished i will update with a link to the judgement for all to see UPDATE: Lea, you never sent me any texts back to the 10 I sent you, nor did you ever send me an email apologizing for ANYTHING. And why would you say nasty things about my character in regards to me being a client for years? That makes no sense. You messed up, ignored my texts, and never sent me an apology. By the way, Matthew didn't have an "extreme emergency"... Matthew was so DRUNK by 6pm he couldn't even pour a glass of champagne! My friend had to help him! read more

I am beyond disappointed with this company. After working with the owner, Lea for two months I was left without a certified bartender for my event! I spent months planning my 10 year wedding vow renewal party, this event was a huge deal for me and my family. A Shot Above Bar tending Service had such great reviews on Yelp, I contacted Lea without hesitation. Although she was busy, she still accommodated me and booking was smooth. This company was fully aware that the Venue where my event was held, required a certified bartender in order to pour. Lea assured me her bartenders were up for the job. Lea also sent a copy of the bartender certification ahead of time per my Venue's request. On the day of the event a bartender shows up on time, but his Identification did not match the bartender certification that was previously sent. The venue was still willing to work with the bartender if he could prove he had a valid certification. He DID NOT have a certification and was sent home. A phone call to Lea was made and we were told that since it was a holiday weekend there were no bartenders available! We were left with no bartender, no alcoholic beverage service, and hundreds of dollars in liquor, wine and beer down the drain! I contacted Lea after the event and she was apologetic and felt bad about the entire incident. Although she responded quickly and refunded my deposit, I feel that it DOES NOT EXCUSE the fact that I was left without a certified bartender on the day of my event. I had given plenty of time for advance notice to have a certified bartender at my event and I am still very upset about the outcome. read more

Great service and highly recommended! Scheduling process was easy and quick: called, scheduled, and email received for deposit and contract, signed sent back all within a day. This was a last minute reservation late in the day Thursday for a Saturday, 6/20, party. After describing what the party was for and some of our favorite drinks, Lea provided suggestions and a list of what to buy. Darlin was our bartender and she was great. The strawberry basil mules were awesome, great sidecar cocktails, and strawberry-blueberry dirty lemonade was also killer. read more

Lea came out to our wedding reception and made an amazing bartender. She had such a positive attitude and got to work with very little direction. She made it very easy and stress free on a day when we were so busy with our guests. We had a couple custom drinks that she helped put together and served to people despite being provided the proper warmer for our hot chocolate. We've already recommended her to a friend's wedding. Her attitude is what makes the difference. A shot Above also provided a wait staff member who was amazing as well. While some things didn't exactly go as planned (especially in the catering department), Darlin and her crew went above and beyond to make this wedding work and I'm not sure how I could have done it without them. What an amazing treat this was to have Chris bartend at our ugly sweater Christmas party! This was a first time for us and now we know where to go for all future events!
