Besides having a wonderful heart, being full of positive energy, giving me and my finacee insight and suggestions by sharing her past experiences to help guide us, being receptive to our needs and concerns and giving us peace of mind, Soraya Rondon of A Soiree to Remember is wonder woman! At the beginning of planning our wedding, my finacee and I had planned for about 120-150 people. I guess things got a little out of hand and we had some major scope creep because we ended up having a wedding that had a RSVP'd guest list of 230 people. No worries. Soraya worked with everyone on our vendor list in taking care of delivery, set up, you name it, she was on it! For things like renting chairs and table setting and other things we had no clue where to even start looking for, Soraya had a list of recommended reliable people to go with. Talk about helping to alleviate the stress! On the day of, EVERYTHING went well. EVERYTHING. Even when a handful of guests that didn't formally RSVP showed up, they were balanced out by those that formally RSVP'd and didn't show up so Soraya was able to scramble at the last second to take care of the seating to make sure everyone knew where they could sit. Sure, there were things that were out of her control though. The only things were, I partially tore the hamstring in my left leg earlier that week so I was hobbled and the dance floor dimensions were not the same as what my fiancee and I had choreographed and practiced our dance for. However, because I believe that Soraya brought a "reverse Murphy's law" energy with her that day, it still went beautifully! Funny thing, as I'm writing up this review a couple months after the wedding, I'm feeling that sense of peace I had on the wedding day knowing that Soraya was scurrying around in the background handling things LIKE A BOSS. read more

Searching for the right wedding coordinator was a challenge for my wife and I. Although we took care of most of the wedding planning ourselves (not terribly difficult, if you can invest a little time into it), such as selecting the venue and vendors, all we really needed was someone to help us with actual 'day of' coordination, to really make sure that small things went according to plan so that we could try to enjoy the wedding. What a lot of wedding coordinators will tell you is that you need more (which obviously costs more), however, if you have a firm handle on what you need, then you'll quickly realize what you truly do/don't need out of a coordinator. Soraya made the decision easy for us. After talking with several coordinators who either didn't want to take on a small job or tried to convince us of their higher end services, my wife came across Soraya as she was local to us and our venue. Don't let the small number of reviews scare you off; she is beyond legit and delivered exactly what we needed: a true day-of coordinator who listened to our needs. Our first meeting she quickly made us feel at ease. Very warm and friendly, like being with family. Very reasonably priced and agreed that our wedding would not need all the extras that every other coordinator pushed on us. A month out from our wedding, Soraya quickly went into action, contacting our bridal party, venue and vendors to get everything dialed in. She offered to help with providing extra bits (she's also a florist and has plenty of accessories one might need for a wedding, so ask!). Her assistant Lisa was also great to work with, and during the rehearsal, they really had our timeline sorted out in accordance with what our venue, photographers and DJ had suggested. On the actual wedding day, Soraya and Lisa made sure everything flowed without any issues. If anything went wrong, we hardly noticed, which is exactly how it should be, and a great indicator that they did their jobs correctly. We truly thank them for a job well done! Soraya has values, high standards and character that you don't find in many people period let alone a wedding planner. She is more interested in serving, not because it "makes her business look good" I mean, yes, that helps, but because it's who she is: a passionate, loving woman who cares about people in addition to the job. They were grossly over priced and it was apparent, through their lack of communication, that they took on so many jobs that they were not available. Before I even HIRED Soraya she spent several hours with me on the phone advising me. I ended up hiring her when my florist fell through at the last minute. Soraya's expertise as a florist and her vast network of connections at the DTLA flower mart helped me save a lot of money on flowers and, in the midst of juggling many items, she lightened my load by taking that and many other things off my plate. Even her husband Al was supportive and helped us out! As a way of life Al and Soraya love to serve others as you can see it gives them joy. As someone who is going to school to get an MFT license, I would also say that Soraya would probable make a good therapist too! Not only did she ease my anxiety in this stressful time but when I had a difficult situation with a vendor, who ceased communication with me, she was there. As a result of this lack of communication with said vendor, I ended up make a last minute decision hiring another vendor as it was DAYS before my wedding. My original vendor came back around but became upset when I told him I found someone else. Soraya spoke with this now angry vendor and handled this situation with expertise grace and wisdom. She is a true diplomat! She completely calmed him down and eased a potentially precarious situation and preserved our relationship as this person was a friend of a friend. The week before my wedding was the worst! My mind was in 10 different places at once but Soraya and her amazing assistant Lisa contacted all my vendors for me so I could focus on my last decorations. My wedding and reception were absolutely perfect! Lisa was very attentive to me and asked me if I needed anything. Every detail, things I, a type A person who is a go getter, never thought of were pointed out and attended to. Soraya is also not very pushy when giving suggestions which I like a lot. Soraya was very sensitive to my vision. My flowers she gave provided were absolutely gorgeous, beyond what I expected, amazing. I found another day of coordinator that said they'd try to help me. They didn't communicate back to me for 4 whole days only to say to me that my wedding was too "last minute for their level of standards". It's hard to put into words how incredible Soraya was. Her work was absolutely beautiful. The arbor piece she created for our altar was magical, and the bouquets and boutonnieres were perfect. We didn't have very firm wedding colors, more of a general palette, but she nailed it and gave us florals that elevated our design and made the whole wedding feel more cohesive. It was beyond my imagination how beautifully my wedding came together. Of course the beyond perfect day that I was imagining would not have happened without having Soraya by our side. My wife and I used A Soiree to Remember for our wedding. She was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator. We had less than a month to plan our wedding. We were very pleased with everything she put together from the boutonniere to the decorations. The biggest surprise for me was when I arrived to the chapel and she had a maile lei waiting for me. I'm from Hawaii so my wife and I were trying to find a way to get a hold of a maile lei but couldn't have it delivered from Hawaii. Soraya went above and beyond what we could have expected from our wedding coordinator. Although we only hired her as a "month of" coordinator, she made herself available well before the wedding and helped us with everything from communicating with our numerous vendors about logistical information to going through every step of our day in detail to ensure that we would not have to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding. She was also able to draw on her breadth of experience at various weddings to offer smart suggestions, but was never pushy about forcing her vision on us.
