We have been to several of these around the country and while each is unique in their own way they are still funny and a semi throwback to your childhood. Good to note it's pricey as all novelty stores are Staff is super friendly and well educated on what product they have on hand and what they don't. If they don't have something they look it up for you to see if it's even still made of you ask them too. Which was my case with Violet crumbles. Very well organized and stocked shelves. The walls are lined with funny T-shirt's and wall plaques that are fun to read. Easily able to spend a good hour inside just looking at all the products and reading stuff. And it'll be fun too. One wall has bins of fun taffy flavors and loose candy to buy by the bulk. And today you were able to sample a piece. In cold cases they have novelty sodas such as dill pickle and bacon maple. I had to buy a dill pickle soda for my love of all things pickles. Highly recommend stopping by and taking out of town guests to. Super fun store.

Debrand Fine Chocolates completely ruined me for all other chocolate...in the best way possible!!…read more A dear friend of mine from Fort Wayne introduced me to Debrand years ago and even surprised me with a box for my birthday. From that moment on, I was hooked. Every single piece is beautifully crafted, rich, and truly decadent. Now it's become a tradition... I order online every year, and without fail, the chocolates leave a lasting impression. I've shared them with friends and they all say the same thing: these are next-level amazing. I honestly have yet to taste chocolates as lovely and refined as Debrand's. If you're looking for something special, memorable, and indulgent... this is it. I wish I could tour their beautiful establishment one day, but until then, I'll keep loving and ordering from them all the way from Houston, TX!

If you enjoy Godiva chocolates, then you'll absolutely LOVE these hand crafted flavorful masterpieces. Unlike most chocolate brands,Debrand chocolates are ethically sourced and made fresh daily. The chocolate has a shelf life of about five months,as there are no preservatives present in them at all. Debrand chocolates is located in Indiana, and they also host parties & have a sundae shoppe where customers can enjoy hand crafted treats. Treat yourself to a box of these unique chocolates when you can. Y'all can thank me later.

The visitor center is bright, nostalgic, and full of fun displays celebrating so many classic candies. My husband was definitely in his element. We left with Dum Dums, Bit-O-Honey, Peanut Bunnies, candy wafers... and apparently two T-shirts! The sneak! I only realized the second shirt made it into our bag when I looked at the receipt later. The staff was friendly, everything was clean and well organized, and there were plenty of unique gifts and candy you don't always find in stores. Even if you're not a huge candy person, it's a fun place to visit for the nostalgia and the history. If you're looking for a unique day trip in northwest Ohio, I definitely recommend stopping at Spangler Candy World. We had a great time and would happily visit again.

We looked at some of the displays on their history while waiting to see if a worker would show up so we could watch the factory tour movie. Eventually a very friendly worker appeared from the back and we bought two tickets ($3 each but it should be free) for the 15 minute movie. The 10 mins of the movie that actually showed the production was very good and the pumped in aromas were a fun touch. The rest of the movie was goofy and for the kids. We didn't play any of their video games which were geared to kids. That is their main audience afterall. We did purchase a few bags of goodies but none of their famed dum dums. Barely worth the detour...
