This place came as a recommendation from several folks and we were excited to move our trailer here. As of recent, there is new management and no way to access outside of regular business hours. This poses a problem for people who are planning trips etc and have different hours due to work or distance. I am very disappointed with the response I was given and no notification that this would not be allowed. I will share that I was told this was in the contract and nothing has changed but it certainly would have been nice to receive a note reinforcing the policy if it was being altered by previous management. We have kept our trailer at a number of different facilities over the years and never seen such a policy. I do understand that you want to keep potential crime and things to a minimum but that is also what security cameras are for. read more

PULLS GUNS ON MENTALLY ILL CUDTOMERSThe manager was so unprofessional, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and acted like a real thug. He pulled the gun out on my girlfriend when we were there obtaining my property because for some weird reason, he has kicked us out when I've only met the guy one OTHER time and it was an odd interaction. Next thing I know I'm being kicked out with no explanation. I'm given two weeks and like I said the gun being pulled out on my girlfriend was so unexpected and scary and they shut the gate on me also which hurt my foot almost breaking it when I was just simply asking for an explanation and for time to obtain my property, but I was yelled at I was pulled a gun on in the gate was shut on my foot. Not to mention the lady in the office is so weird and she seems like she's high on drugs, always twiddling and tweaking and saying weird things and walking around like she's just an old drug addict. I don't recommend this place at all. I give it a 0 to 0 stars if you like people that pull guns on customers for no reason, especially customers that have mental illnesses like my girlfriend she has mental illness and he pulled a gun on her because she was having a was having a manic episode due to her past trauma, and he really hit that trauma when he pulled a gun on her. We both left screaming out of there scared for our lives. Why would he pull a gun on us and tell us that he doesn't call cops? don't recommend this place at all. read more

What in the world? Looks like a nice place judging by the website. The website says "call to make reservations." I called. I asked about making a reservation and the woman interrupted me and said, "We don't make reservations." I read to her what the website said and she said, "Well it shouldn't say that. What size space are you interested in?" I mistakenly told her "5X8" and she said, "We don't have that size. It seems like you're on another place's website." I said, I meant "5X10." I moved out of my large condo and in one day decided to put my well-packed​ furniture into storage for an indefinite period of time. My daughter secured a spot and when we arrived late in the afternoon, the owners welcomed me and kept the place open until we finished. Then helped me secure another unit for the overflow. During another visit, I had nothing to clean with when​ a vase full of petals broke. Joe came to my aid and cleaned it for me before all the petals blew in the wind. One month later, due to unforeseen​ circumstances, I had to remove my stuff once again and move it to another house. The stress of having to move twice in one month was overwhelming, yet Joe and Trisha, who made everything very easy for me to do, empathized​ with my state of mind, listened to my problems as if I was the only person who mattered and wished me well. My experience at A Storage Place in Lompoc has been great. The facility is consistently maintained properly. It's always clean and welcoming. My belongings were at A Storage Place from Spring of 2009 until September of 2019. Whenever I went to "visit" my stuff (about once a year, probably), things were fine, nothing to fret about. Simple and easy storage. I had a 5x5 unit. The unit was very tall, which allowed me to store a lot. The facility is very clean.

I moved to this area and needed storage because the cost of housing in this area is very high and I had to move into a much smaller home. A Storage Place is a GREAT local business and a great place for storage. The staff is always very friendly and they do everything they can to help the customer. They have actually gone out of their way to find me discounts! The facilities are also top notch considering they are not "climate" controlled (climate control really isn't necessary in this region). The storage grounds require a code to enter and they provide 24/7 video surveillance. The roads are recently paved and are angled away from the buildings to keep water out of your storage room. They provide a free lock to each customer as well. The storage rooms themselves come in a variety of sizes that have well functioning doors as well as adequate lighting (even in the evenings). Basically, access is secure enough and simple enough to where I actually consider it more of a detached garaged for my home! I won't say service here is inexpensive, but I certainly wouldn't consider it to be expensive either. They also offer very flexible payment methods which I've found helpful.The overall quality of the facilities and the excellent customer service more than make up for any price concerns and make them very competitive. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to this area who needs storage. read more

The owners/management staff are very cordial and accommodating, and, like John B., they offered me the senior discount rate without my even asking.
