Was searching a reputable autoshop to take my car in for service and decided to take a chance with this shop, worst car mistake ever. I brought my car in for diagnosis of squeaking noises and some oil leakage from my car. They told me that my car needed $1200 for brake service and over $4000 in other services, totaling to an amount over $5k. Shocked by the "services" needed I went to another shop for a second opinion. I ended up only needing new brake pads and my rotors resurfaced costing only $250 and they did my oil leakage for FREE, i only need to get my engine gasket replaced ($400) not $5k worth of work. They not only charged me $120 for "diagnosis" but another $65 just to look at my brakes! I ended up paying over $223 for "diagnosis" and no actual work done. If you want to pay a lot for diagnosis, do not take your car here. You've been warned.

Rob called with a diagnosis and an estimate in a couple hours, which included needing to go fill it up (my bad).

We show up at 9:00, he takes the Jeep and is done in a little less time than he thought. Deducted $50 and off we went. His waiting room is immaculate, comfortable, air conditioned and very pleasant. If I lived here, I would definitely go back to John at Skyline Auto. He is polite, efficient and a professional.

So I agreed to do both. during work it was discovered that the radiator also leaked so I agreed to replacing that as well. When I met with John to pick the car up he simply handed me my keys and said he wasn't going to charge me for any of the work performed due to the shops inability to correct a new starting issue with the vehicle he suggested that it runs fine and starts perfect most the time, so maybe I just drive it. Suggested I could take it to another shop and diagnose what's wrong with it but really it wasn't a big runability issue. So now I'm thinking what the heck did you do to my car, so I took it to GM in Auburn and paid for diagnosis. John expects that I should be happy with the fact I didn't have to pay for any of the work that he performed on the vehicle. In his mind evidently future repairs which are substantial plus the car I had to rent because this was my daily is all on me, not his problem. Now my car sits in the GM backlot waiting for a camshaft that is backordered for a month or two. What I would explain as a massive lack of integrity from the shop, because this is not how you treat customers. Aaron 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L with 86 thousand miles. What they found was an absolute shocker.. John's shop had broken the exhaust camshaft and then repaired it with what looks to be 5-minute epoxy.. 5 MINUTE EPOXY!

Checking under the hood, I located the source, a water leak coming from a heater hose. The next morning I went looking for a place to get it fixed. My regular auto place was booked solid with Memorial Day weekend approaching. With several business trips coming up, it was important to get this fixed right away. I went to Yelp and found a couple of places to check out. The first stop, I received a quote and said they would need the car for three days. My next stop was Dave's in Auburn. Brandon took a look and said he could get it done today. His quote was SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the earlier quote I had received elsewhere. As I was trying to load Uber on my phone, he asked if I needed a loaner car. Yet another problem solved! The repair was done well within the time frame they gave me, and I had my car back that same afternoon. Charges matched the initial quote. Brandon followed up with a text three days later, asking if everything was working right. I couldn't be more satisfied. I will be back when the need arises.

After about 4 hours, I received a call with a quote of nearly $1,600 to replace all four rotors and brake pads. I later called another shop and got an estimate for the exact same work at $1,200, which confirmed that their quote was on the very high side. I declined the work and went to pick up my car. I was told they did a minor cleaning of the brakes to reduce the noise, and I was charged a little over $100. Unfortunately, the brakes squeaked exactly the same as when I brought it in. I didn't make a big deal about that since the underlying issue wasn't addressed -- but when I got home, I noticed my hubcaps hadn't even been removed. That really made me question whether any work was actually performed at all. Between the high pricing, the ineffective "fix," and the suspicion that my car may have just sat in the shop while I still paid over $100, I will not be returning here. I would recommend that others get a second opinion before agreeing to any repairs at this shop.
