My son took our Mazda in for an oil change since he could walk to his job from there. They charged $135. Six weeks later, my husband was driving the car and the oil light came on, so he drove it to the dealership and found out that there was no oil in the car. It cost us an additional $350 to fix the damage from A Street not actually changing our oil. Any company that would charge for a service that wasn't actually performed, as well as allow their customer to drive an unsafe car, is one to avoid at all costs. I've heard of companies like this, but this was my first time being scammed by one. I'll stick with the dealership from now one. read more

Was searching a reputable autoshop to take my car in for service and decided to take a chance with this shop, worst car mistake ever. I brought my car in for diagnosis of squeaking noises and some oil leakage from my car. They told me that my car needed $1200 for brake service and over $4000 in other services, totaling to an amount over $5k. Shocked by the "services" needed I went to another shop for a second opinion. I ended up only needing new brake pads and my rotors resurfaced costing only $250 and they did my oil leakage for FREE, i only need to get my engine gasket replaced ($400) not $5k worth of work. They not only charged me $120 for "diagnosis" but another $65 just to look at my brakes! I ended up paying over $223 for "diagnosis" and no actual work done. If you want to pay a lot for diagnosis, do not take your car here. You've been warned. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They replaced the transmission in one of our cars around six months ago. Not only did they charge us several thousand over their estimate (well over the 10% max allowed under the law), but come to find out they also damaged the electrical system in our car while doing the work. We know this, because the check engine light came on, so we took the car into the dealership to see what was going on and the service manager said (without knowing we had had the transmission replaced), "we usually see this when cars have had a transmission replaced because if it's not done correctly, the electrical system gets damaged." read more

On day of service I was treated kindly and my questions answered. Service was completed timely. All transactions so far point to great company. Will use them again. I travel the Pacific Coast Highway and all througout the PNW in my 2002 Toyota Runner that tows my 22 foot travel trailer. I stopped to have my brakes checked out turned out my rotors were warped and replaced the front brakes and threw in a new caliper. Very transparent and clear in what was wrong. Snap credit was available making my travels easier. I got more than what I paid for. My truck has low miles and they were able to tell me what services I should get next but not to worry because of its condition. read more

I was going to give this place a bad review at first, because I called them to fix my windshield wipers I had just bought a used car and the motor stopped working I asked them how much it would cost they quoted me Around $400 with service and parts. I made the appointment and brought my car in when I came to pick up my car my windshield wiper still didn't work. they said it's because I told them I wanted a motor. So they put in a motor, but I also needed a different part to get the motor to start running again and that it would cost around $400 more even though the part was only $50 it would be for the service to put the engine back together and then apart for the other part in total it was about $900 for a broken windshield wiper on a 1997 Dodge Caravan SMHI was livid especially when my motor went out on the windshield wipers less than a month later. So I decided to give them a call to see if they would fix my car for at least no more than $100 and if not I was going to go to a different Mechanic and create 1 million different accounts and use them all to write horrible reviews on this company... but a different nicer guy answered the phone and said it would be for free because it was under warranty everything they do is under warranty and I could come in right away and they would fix it and they let me sit in the lobby while a new motor came in which took two hours they offered me coffee water they were very nice very understanding a whole different story and I'm really glad I went with them because I don't think another mechanic would've kept me under warranty. And it really was my fault by saying that I needed a motor for the windshield wipers when I could've had them evaluate why the motor broke in the first place and it was a straight up with misunderstanding read more

I took my 2007 BMW to A street auto and told them it seemed like a few cylinders were not firing when I first start the car but when I re-start it works fine. I told them I had already tried replacing some spark plugs and ignition coils. They looked at the car and tell me $800 for compression test (I wondered why they would start with that as the car has full power on the restart) and I let them know I didn't agree but reluctantly gave ok. Compression turned out to be fine. Then they also replace some plugs and coils (could've sworn I mentioned I already did that) and replaced the thermostat (the car wasn't overheating so I wondered why the thermostat?). They then say the issue is some sort of buildup on the engine area and that this happens with most BMW's. Estimate to fix? $4400. It's a 2007 BMW 550, I could get ANOTHER one for that price. I didn't like how they chose to do work that didn't seem related or needed (I told them this before and after). I ended up paying $1500 total and they gave me back the car driving exactly the same way as when I came in (I chose not to pay the $4400 and took the car to a shop down the street). Our Diesel OneTon wouldn't pass emissions and I took it to A Street right down the road and first on the list. Rob called with a diagnosis and an estimate in a couple hours, which included needing to go fill it up (my bad). *Older reviews are no longer applicable to this place - ownership recently changed* I dropped my car off after hours on a Tuesday evening because my clutch had started slipping and I knew there were a few other things that need attention. Albert was in contact with me on Wednesday with a thorough estimate of things that needed to be done. I was honest with my financial concerns, he was honest with what was found, and I was able to pick my car up Friday afternoon. One of the technicians had even willingly stayed late Thursday to complete the work because I had mentioned that I had gotten a rental car and they wanted to return my car to me as soon as possible. I had cleaned my car just the weekend before and it was just as clean as when I dropped it off, which was a pleasant surprise. No greasy work boot prints anywhere to be seen. Overall, I am exceptionally pleased with the care both my car and I received. Being a young female, I expect being spoken to in a certain manner when it comes to things like my car (like when I purchased my vehicle, I made my boyfriend leave because the salesdudebro wouldn't even talk to me). I am always prepared to shut that down quickly, but Albert spoke to me like the human being that I am; that is, an equal. He was honest, helpful and very personable. I was NOT prepared to drop a whole bunch of money and instead of laying on the guilt, when I mentioned my financial constraints, he was willing to work with me. I left the shop with my car in working order and recommendations for barbecue (we commiserated over the lack of good southern - style food out here for non-native PNWers). My son's broke the tye rod on his Elantra at 8 o'clock at night in Auburn on his way home from work. We had them tow it to this shop and we locked it up and put the key in the drop box and went home.9:30 am they called about what happened I told them he said no problem we are on it. 3:30 he called it's on the rack for allignment be done by 5:00 that day. I live in Buckley and told him I am on my way as fast as I can I got there at 5:30 they closed at 5:00 he was there waiting for me very nice and explained work done and even checked out the car to make sure my son was safe and there were no other problems and the price was half of what they told me at other places amazing people I can't say enough THANK YOU so much. read more

We took our sons car in to be fixed for a leaking transmission. Unfortunately my son mistakenly told the person at the front desk that he thought it was a rear main seal leak when it actually was a transmission front pump seal that needed to be replaced. If A street automotive had actually diagnosed the problem they would have very easily caught the mistake. All they needed to do was check the oil and transmission fluid levels and/or checked the leaking fluid. Transmission fluid is red while oil is brown/black. Although they did charge us 120.00 for diagnosing the problem, it is clear that they did not. My husband was a mechanic for 40 years and a service writer for 15 to 20 years. He would tell you that you don't take an untrained persons word for it. You, a trained mechanic, diagnose the problem and then write up a service order which you share with the customer. A service order tells you what is wrong with your car and how much it will cost to fix it. AT this point A street automotive tells us they want 4800.00 to replace the transmission. At this point we are having said vehicle towed to a different shop because even if they are correct and it does cost us another 4800.00 to fix, at least we can trust this other shop. Personally,I believe they should refund the money we have paid them. Since it is plain that they did not do a diagnosis, how do i trust them on anything. I'd also add that we took it to a transmission specialist, and guess what? It doesn't need a new transmission. BEWARE! read more

We took our 1992 Suburban there because the transfer case was bad and had pinion seal, fluid replaced, tune up, brake fluid flush and spark plugs and wire replaced. It was not drive-able with the back end doing what it was doing and Rob Gillett took it on and did an outstanding job! Feel like we have our blue bus back! I came to these guys after another company. Because another company just took my money and said that I cannot repair steering wheel and horn without replacement it overall. Then I just ran away from them and came to A Street Automotive. A Street Automotive are really professionals. They found all the issues of my car, that other company was not able to find. As a courtesy, A Street did diagnostics of all the car areas, instead of steering wheel only I asked about. But what is more nice: I paid for diagnostics only. But A Street Automotive said that it was easy to fix my horn during diagnostics itself because problem was not so difficult. And it was with no additional charge for me! Finally, I came and paid for diagnostics of steering wheel only. But for my money, these guys did diagnostics of all the car + repaired horn for free! Thanks a lot for your service.
