These days it is used as a rent-able party space, a wedding hall, a photo backdrop and a place for the symphony to play to the crowds in the Great Lawn the week before Jazz Fest each spring. I've see yoga & exercise classes happening there, although not sanctioned by the park, it is a great spot to stretch out and enjoy the breeze. I've seen dance teams practicing out of the direct sun light. I've seen kids testing their roller skating skills on the smooth pavement. But, for me, the Peristyle will always be the place that I spent the best day of my life, 10.11.12, my wedding day. For a very reasonable price, we rented the Peristyle for the entire day. We hired City Park Catering to make us some fantastic food and drinks. We laughed, we cried, we danced, & we created some amazing memories. Many of our guests proclaimed that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to, and I have the Peristyle to thank for sheltering us and giving us an amazing space to start the rest of our days together.

Kiosk idea is cool for people with small parties of ppl but I would have rather having an option to having a server. Getting drinks from the bar was a nightmare . Only 2 bartenders on a Saturday with a packed place. Food comes out on this big tray and thankfully after struggling a nice worker offered to carry it for me . Maybe what needs to be done is cafe style where you give them a number for the table and the worker can walk out the food to ur table. I also heard ppl complaining about the food and service. A lot of wasted space which I feel could have been utilized for seating area. Workers seemed over worked and confused. I feel like this place is a good idea but needs fine tuning. What I think is for the price of things the value of the service needs to be better. When ur paying resort prices but feel like ur at a motel 6 that's not right. I doubt drew Bree's would be satisfied with his experience last night. Which from my understanding he owns this establishment .

There are also 2 large phone booths for rent as well. Free workspace is every other Tuesday - date rate is $20. The renovation is great and I love the kitchen area - includes hot beverages, filtered water and snacks - yes snacks are provided, such a nice touch. Great place to meet other entrepreneurs and community network. I will definitely be back again soon.

At those times, visually inside and out the place was nice. I had spent weeks looking for the right space to host my baby shower and i remembered this place. I scheduled a walk through and when i got there the outside looked terrible. I still went in and spoke with the young lady who i had an appointment with. The inside was very nice but i asked her about the grass and will it be taken care of cause i thought surely they don't keep it like this on a regular basis and she informed me that the have a contract with a company who maintains the grass. With that information i assumed that for their events that they host they would most likely have it taken care of. So i reserved my date with the lady who is the one in charge of the actual event booking, Elizabeth. After my booking as time went on i had questions about the space and it was so incredibly hard to get in contact with her. And because i couldn't get in contact i had to postpone my other arrangements until i could get in contact with her. On multiple occasions i couldn't get in contact with her to the point where i attempted to reach out to the owner of the building with no success from that either. This made planning MY OWN BABY SHOWER TEN TIMES MORE STRESSFUL. From the time leading up to my event, my family had passed the building multiple occasions because of where they work and the grass stayed continuously worsened , growing higher and higher. It was a terrible sight. The week of my event, i reached out to the event manager asking if the grass could please take care of because it appeared it was never touched since three months ago when i first toured and the days are counting down. She informed me and my father that they have a contract with a company and that unfortunately she could not do anything about the grass that she referred to as "trees" in front of the building. My family and i were so desperate because of how bad it looked we asked if we could do it ourselves!! She told us no. I then asked if i could be compensated cause the whole experience with her and the business had been so disappointing and she told me that the outside of the venue being taken care of and maintained was not in my contract so therefore no i will not be compensated and the grass will still not be able to be touched . She then told me that the grass had been taken care about a week ago and because of the weather it had something to do with why the grass looked the way it looked and from the images i will input you will CLEARLY SEE that wasn't true. In the end i made the best of what i had but please expect LESS than the bare minimum from this place. Terrible service. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!

It's really a lot of fun! Housed within an inauspicious building, you've never really know it was inside, if you didn't know it was inside. Just look for the signs. But, once you find the location, and you go inside, it becomes a lot of fun. Though it is a fun place to visit, the one thing I will say about this museum is that you should really go on off hours. For example, when my wife and I just recently went there, we were basically the only people in the place. There was a family that walked through a little bit in front of us, but we never interacted with them. The reason I say this is because if there are a lot of people in this museum, as there can be, that is really going to block your flow, and your ability to have fun within each exhibit. Meaning, other people will interrupt you, or you may interrupt them. From this, you may feel like they're hurrying you out of the way, or you may feel like you are pushing them out of the way. Again, you should really try to go off hours if you truly wish to experience the overall fun this museum has to offer. Overall, if you're in New Orleans, and you have some time to kill, this is a fun place to go. You will get tons of great photographs of you and whomever you go with, and you will have a lot of fun in all the strangeness that goes on inside the walls of this space.

There are instructions displayed at each illusion, so you know what you're supposed to do. I could see how the experience wouldn't have been enjoyable if there were more people here at the same time. There is the potential for bottlenecks. My favorite was the piano room. There's a piano on its side, sticking out of the wall. When you stand behind it, in the photo, it looks like you're upside down. It's definitely fun and educational for the kids.

She still shorted us a dessert. Our actual server did a great job. They need to do a better job of serving people hot food. No one likes their entree cold. Andrea was a dream to work with...had answers to all of my questions, suggestions when I needed them, and a calm and efficient demeanor that enabled me to have all of the planning complete (with a contract in hand) by the next day; this was important as I was planning the shower only four weeks in advance. I literally booked this amazing place without ever seeing it in person. I was not disappointed as this is the most beautiful property! The 1890 Garden District mansion itself is stunning, on a corner and surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The huge porch and courtyard area are so welcoming but they don't compare to the beauty inside the mansion. The decor is stunning, with so many period details...stained glass windows, transoms, massive doors with intricate hardware that are like little works of art. Every room is a feast for the eyes, with beautiful upholstery and draperies, chandeliers and cozy seating areas. The massive carved staircase in the foyer is an ideal location for photo opportunities. Our luncheon was served buffet-style and it was exquisite and abundant, both in presentation and taste; guests raved about the food and beverages! We had women and men in attendance and there was something for everyone. We elected to bring in the desserts as the mother-to-be had some specific requests; Andrea made sure we had a beautiful table for them and her staff took care of cutting and serving the cake. In addition, a lovely table was prepared in the living room for gifts. Sully Mansion's staff are the loveliest women you could hope to meet. We never had to ask for anything; the food was constantly replenished and drinks served with a smile.
