This is a rarity. It's an Eastern European restaurant. A lot of the dishes appear to be Russian and/or Polish inspired. They seem to be famous for their chicken Kiev and blintzes. I tried the potato pancakes. It was a really unique and interesting dish. I thought they might come out like latkes, but the texture was really just like a regular pancake. They were served savory with a side of applesauce and sour cream. The portion was enormous! My friends ordered the tea with preserves. It comes in an incredibly fancy silver tea glass, and yes, you dump some jelly directly into the tea! I wasn't quite brave enough to try it, but perhaps I will next time as everyone raved about the tea. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for something different. read more

Delicious! We have a friend with deep Polish roots who wanted to show us this place. I'm so glad she did!! It was delicious. There was a polka player the night we went. With a laid back ambiance it really set the tone for a fun evening. Our friends started with soup (Ukrainian borscht and a beef and barley soup of the day). They split the Shishkebabs and their daughter got the Jagerschnitzel. I have to say, I was feeling a lot of dinner-envy over that Jagerschnitzel! I was in luck, though, our food was delicious too! My spouse and I split the Chicken Kiev and the Pierogies (mushroom/potato and bacon/potato). It was delightful! I highly recommend! read more

I don't get here often enough. They recently remodeled and it's really opened up a lot of space. They don't have all the souvenirs they but I believe they still have some like the Nesting Dolls. They play some relaxing piano music and you enjoy your meal while being able to carry on a normal conversation. I enjoyed their Hungarian Goulash with the fantastic noodles. I'm going to start getting here at least once a month. They have Apple Pay which brings them into the 21st Century. They're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We went here last night and really liked it! I'm part Polish and was thrilled to learn about this place! People say DFW has great diversity but it really doesn't: they're aren't enough places like this around representing this culture(s) and cuisine(s). We had reservations for a Saturday night. We had seen their menu beforehand noting that their food takes a long time to make so we prepared for that. Service was a little slow because they had a small party they were attending to but we didn't mind at all. I don't think you really need reservations here as there were a few empty tables. We ordered then checked out their little shop. I loved seeing the groceries. We bought some after dinner to take home. I will note that the video they have on their website showed Jewelry and hats for sale but I didn't see any of that- just food. Our food did not take long at all! 15 minutes maybe. Pretty incredible! The peirogis are excellent. Thick dough, excellent filling. They give you a lot and I dare any one single person to clean a plate by themselves! The glumpki (cabbage rolls) were also good, I think my ma's are better but I think that's a fair statement by anyone with some Polish in 'em! We had a bottle of red which was also very good. It was cute seeing the small party take place- there was a live accordion player - I don't know if he's always here or was just for the party but it was great! I heard the family that owns this place is thinking of closing. I'm sad to hear that, especially since their sister location in Southlake closed last year. I hope more people come here - please do try food other than Mexican or Indian for once! This place was right up my alley and we will be back! read more

I can't believe I have lived so close to this restaurant for years and never been here before until tonight. Wow. Went with my girlfriends and we had the Favorite Sampler, the Potatoes Galore sampler, and the Dumpling sampler. We also split a cup of borscht. The potato pirogies and the sauerkraut kolduny were my favorites! But everything was tasty. Had several glasses of Mukuzani red wine and enjoyed it so much I bought a bottle! I've been coming here since high school and the food here is still good as ever. We just visited again today and were reminded why Guy Fieri came here for triple D! The restaurant feels very familiar/inviting like eating at a friend's house. The food tastes authentic and is worth the wait as everything is made from scratch in-house. Get the sampler plates!! If you have multiple people in your party, get as many different sampler plates as possible to maximize your experience! There's not very many places in DFW where you can get East European food like this, so come support this local business and try it out! read more

Worst meal ever. The beef in the stroganoff was so tough I couldn't chew it n the sauce was a glob of weird looking grave with no flavor. After a few bites I was done! The jaeger schnitzel was thin n no flavor. Jaeger gravy was just ok. The 1 star, I'd do negative stars if I could, was for the sausage n kraut appetizer. The sausages were really good but they also had what tasted like Oscar Meyer bologna slices in it. Too bad I really wanted to like this place. They need to improve their flavor profile! read more

A Friday night foodie adventure. It has been years since we were here. This meal, we started with an appetizer of Sausage Sampler with Home Made Sauerkraut. My sponsor is not fond of Sauerkraut so she requested it on the side. Our entrees were Kolduny - three potato pancakes stuffed with a combination of beef and chicken, grilled and served with sour cream. Beef Stroganoff- beef in a creamy onion and mushroom sauce served over egg noodles. After the meal, we toured through the grocery store. I finally made it to this restaurant that has been on my list to visit for some time. It was worth the wait and then some. We arrived right at noon on a Saturday and were the first in the door and seated promptly. On the wall there are many eastern European items, everything from sets of nesting dolls to intricate tea sets. Many of these items are for sale. I had been checking out the menu for a couple days so I had narrowed it down to a couple choices and went with the chicken kiev. The outside had this amazing crunch and the chicken inside was ground and seasoned just right. It looks heavy but it wasn't at all. My friend had the bratwurst and really enjoyed it. I wish I had room for dessert but that will have to wait until next time. Be sure to check out the selection of groceries. Been awhile since I tried A taste of Europe came on a Friday night not busy no wait. I was looking forward to a Jagerschnitzel. The restaurant has remodeled since we were there last which was a long time ago. Very nice clean restaurant plenty of seating room. They do have a small store to buy some, I guess authentic food and gifts. This is Eastern European style of food restaurant. We were greeted right way very friendly staff. We started with wine the wine was from local stores not European. We ordered at the table I had the Jagerschnitzel with sauerkraut and homemade french fries. I prefer a little more mushroom gravy on my cutlet and the favor was a little greasy oil tasting. The sauerkraut and fries were very good. My husband had the goulash which is egg noodles with beef chunks very good flavor. We asked the severing what crepes dessert was best he recommended the caramel sauce oh! Man that was great. There is a creamy sauce on top. Comes with a side of rice. Meat lovers sampler (Hungarian goulash, beef stroganoff, and meatloaf stuffed with mushroom) Meatloaf is crispy on the outside. Flavorful on the inside. Covered with some sort of gravy. Beef stroganoff is very creamy and rich in flavor. Beef very tender. By far my favorite item of the day. The Hungarian goulash was very tasty. Tomato-y taste to it. The sampler is more than enough food for 2-3 people. Highly recommend if you want some authentic Eastern European food! Their fried pork cutlet (Jagerschnitzel) was very good, you can also definitely ask for ketchup if you need that acidic tang with it. I encourage you guys to try their Tarkhun drink! It is quite an experience! My grandpa was a big fan of Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. When Guy came to Texas and Grandma seen the show, he had us visit each one. Grandpa passed away in 2014, but it was a fun food adventure with him. From standing in a 2 hour line at Pecan Lodge for him to Chophouse burgers to Chefs Point when they were in the gas station. We all really enjoyed Taste of Europe. After he passed, husband, kids, and I would randomly visit ever few years. My grandma didn't come with us until recently. It was a good 3 years before recently that we didn't come. The older man running it retired and now his Grandson runs the place. I'm glad he decided to take over. The trinkets that were all displayed are now in a china cabinet type cabinet. You can still buy frozen pelmenis and other goodies. The mushroom barley soup is amazing. I wish I could find a recipe for it. They have a pickle soup that I would love to try. I've had the goulash, stroganoff, chicken blintzes, pelminis, and stuffed meatloaf recently. All really good. Just the chicken blintzes weren't something I would get again. It's like ground chicken wrapped in a pancake. It was good, just not something I want to eat again. I love the pickled platter that has a variety of pickled vegetables and the meat platter is also great. Comes with like european deli meats and cheeses. Definitely recommend coming here. read more

Tasty and authentic foods of the Eastern Block! This was my first time ever trying Borscht (Ukrainian warm beet soup with a dollop of sour cream) but I really liked it! The pickled veggie appetizer had lots of flavors from German rottekraut to pickled yellow squash to mushrooms; all unique flavors. And for dessert I tried the crepes with Latvian caramel (similar to South American Arequipe made with condensed milk). All in all a healthy filling meal for under $25. read more

All of his recommendations were spot on and did not disappoint. Very friendly. We recently took a group of teenagers from our church to Taste of Europe to enjoy some Ukrainian food, since we had been studying about Missions in Ukraine. The experience was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. All of our needs were anticipated and met quickly and with a smile. The ambience and decorations made us feel like we were on a mini-vacation and really added to the experience. And the food was over the top!! We tried so many different things on the menu and every one of them was fantastic. We had the Caviar, Crepes, Pierogis, various sausages, Chicken Kiev, Borscht and more. For dessert, everyone shared several delicious types of dessert crepes, including some with Russian Preserves. All of us agreed that not just the food, but the whole experience was wonderful.
