This was my 3rd time at Theo's and they continue to be consistent, the food is good, you get large portions, and the prices are very reasonable. We went on a Saturday afternoon. My kid got a burger which was huge. My husband got an omelet with biscuits and gravy, and I got a short stack of pancakes that were still huge and scrambled eggs. I also got a mimosa to go along with my meal and it was tasty, they did not skimp on the champagne. They are good for breakfast or lunch. Don't take my word for it. This place is a hit or miss when ordering to go. Usually get garden salad to go and why would you order from them when there is Harley any lettuce in the salad and you have to go buy lettuce at the store. An hour before closing and they should tell you they have no lettuce available. It's just wrong. No problem with the specials during the day, but obviously the new owner could give a crap less about you. Stay in the kitchen and see what is going on. Before they gave me no dressing but the sweet lady at the front made up for it tonight, they are always sweet. Like I said hit or miss. My dad loves this place BUT every-time i go with my partner the front is NEVER welcoming. It gives very racist and annoyed that i even came. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Theo's. We found this place a few months ago, based on a friend's suggestion. We now go there multiple times a week!! This is our "go-to" place on Sunday after church and for lunch during the week when we don't have something else planned. The food is delicious, large portions, and terrific friendly service (very regular waiters and waitresses). Breakfast (fantastic) is all day, great daily specials, and awesome sandwiches! Food was decent. I'm more upset that I ordered a chicken pot pie and it came in a bread bowl. The server didn't warn me about this nor did she have any accommodations when I was clearly let down and didn't eat the bread bowl. My husband had a chicken fried steak and that was pretty good. Extremely courteous Mom n' Pop vibe style restaurant. My daughter and I went during busy lunch hour yet we were seated promptly. Our waitress came to assist us in a timely manner and was pleasant. I had the beef veggie soup and half BLT sandwich. My daughter ordered the potato soup and salad. The beef veggie soup was flavorful and my BLT was full of bacon. My daughter didn't care for the potato soup; she stated there was room for more flavor in the cream. Great experience at Theo's. This place is so good. I got liver and onions with loaded mashed potatoes and onion rings. I was a glutton and ate it all, but easily 2 meals could be made. So great value for the money. I've also had the tuna melt and the veggie plate (I love how in Texas mac n cheese counts as a veggie!). The service is pretty diner-esque. Very fast-paced in there, and everything happens promptly. I've sat in the restaurant and in the bar area - both pretty decent. I've just found Theos after going to the US Renal Care for dialysis in Grand Prairie for over 4 years now. A good friend of mine mentioned something about it , if it was still there ,after all this Covid pandemic. So one morning we went to try it out. Chicken fried steak sandwich. One of my favorite foods to eat. So many pretenders. Well the CFS sandwich fell way short. Bread sandwich, horrible bun, bread, preparation. French fries not much to write home about. OK second attempt breakfast ,chicken fried steak gravy, scrambled eggs hash browns and pancakes. Ordered hash browns well done, came out cold , steak and eggs and gravy good warmish... for breakfast which you can get all day there ok. Third time there, lunch rush hour on a Saturday. Really not enough help to wait tables. We had to ask for everything. A menu,after the wife scanned the menu icon several times with no success. Napkins, silverware all had to be asked for. Management which isn't hard to figure out who they are , Asians, we're mostly concerned if cash register was being run properly. Not if customers right under his nose was getting taken care of. Anyhow let's try some of the hamburgers. Me and the wife both ordered the standard cheese burgers, mine with mus.pick,lett, and tomato, wife wanted Swiss mushroom, mayonnaise, lett,tomato,and onions......then the wife ask how they cooked the burgers...the reply was on the grill......burgers hit the table......MORE bread , over bread. buns once again not butter toasted, they at least do that at Whataburger. Meat well done hockey pucks. Not juicy,tasted like hospital cafeteria food ,fries nothing to write home about, almost cold. Tried everything to help this very fair to pathetic hamburger have some taste....bun got soggy , I couldn't finish it, the wife same thing didn't get onions on her burger.....3 attempts to get Theos on the meal plan. We're out. Strike 3 . In a way stepping back to observe how this place is trying to operate. The part of the restaurant up in the front the old original part. Packed.. looked like a special click of clientele that's there every day, and the waitresses know what and how they want it...If your not seated in that section your seated in the other end of this place. This is where the waitresses are learning, and sparse. To finish out pies not worth fooling with ,tried coconut, and chocolate meringue.....what was the one thing that rated at Theos.....there fried mushrooms are excellent, the ranch they serve with them not so good. There's way more that didn't get mentioned, but my wife would have published a novel. Oh yea almost forgot pancakes thick heavy and doey . Seems to be a real heavy dose of old Grand Prairie. Handicap parking almost non existent. One tiny little ramp. Didn't go to the bathrooms. Not so sure we'll be going back to Theos.....it advertises bar and grill.....didn't fool with the bar, but a lot of the old people standing around looked like they did......as I write this review ,and my wife is putting my gun back together. I'm hoping that I soon will be relieving myself of the gut bomb burger that's been making me feel very ill . read more

My husband told me about the salads at this place years ago, but its so far from our house that I thought I would never get to visit. One day I had a little time on my hands and a salad craving. Gave Theo's a try and MAN am I glad I did. It was during the lunch hour and the restaurant was booming. I called ahead for pick up; which was a smart move. I ordered the grill chicken salad w/ ranch. It was loaded with toppings. Tomato, egg, cheese, and fresh hot grilled chicken in every bite. The best part was that the salad dressing was not watered down. It was thick, creamy, and full of flavor. I actually thought I wasn't going to finish my salad in one sitting, but it was so delish I didn't want to risk ruining it by trying to eat a soggy salad later.
